Hi All,

Sorry if this have been covered i have done a quick search and not found anything.

We are all working hard on prologue and spend however many hours earning cash and the like. When GT5 comes out will we be starting from scratch or will some aspects of our garage and cash transfer over to the full version of 5? just seems like alot of hard work for nothing if not :ouch:

Thanks

I think in previous iterations of GT things would transfer from old content... I remember there was soemthing with GT3 going to GT4... and if im not mistaken I believe some prologue data from GT4 was transferred as well if you had played GT4:P that is... could be wrong on that one though...

Your "hard work" is rewarded, it's rewarded within GT5p, you could enjoy yourself while playing too you know. :sly: Once you have all the cars the money is indeed useless however. Like daan said there has been no indication of whether anything from prologue will transfer over. I think the best solution would be to transfer everything you have over, but to an arcade/online garage and have another garage for career, otherwise it will be too easy at the beginning if you have a load of credits, or a fast car.

I think I need to start doing some events. After buying the F1 car, I still have no credits.

After the nice bonus they gave us in GT4 when we had a GT3 save, I know a lot of us have been asking for something similar in GT5. We'll probably get something, but if not, it'll still be cool.

Thanks for the replies. I would think they would offer something surely even and extra 10k credits or something just to make it worth while. i can see the problem starting GT5 with the Ferrari even though it would be rather fun :P

It has been mentioned by Sony (or KY I forget now) that we will get something in GT5 for having GT5P, I doubt it will be much, most likely a free license or some money much like we got with GT4 (from GT4P).

As usual I will not claim it though.

That painfully slow process from one used car to garage full of supersports and racecars, the enjoyment from purchasing one jewel after another and sometimes having GT in mind from morning and looking forward to finish the work and play again, this is the best bit of Gran Turismo for me.

what about time trial records... they should transfer those as well. did they transfer the lap records from GTHD to GT5P.. for Eiger Nordwand?

No, the have been reset 3 or 4 times since GT5P's release, everytime there is a update (not event update) they're reset, I had so many Eiger records it wasn't funny but I gave up setting them after they got wiped a couple times.

Also records were reset every week in GTHD.

Wasn't it something like 100,000cr on GT4? I also hope you can buy and sell cars from one person to another like on GT4 you could buy or sell cars from another persons memory card. This will become even better if vinyl system or tuning transfers to.

I think that to the real Turismiots such an advantage will be discarded, so that one could have maximum fun from starting from scratchietst scratch as possible

even if we will be able to transfer cash or cash to the full version, i will still start from scratch. i wanna enoy every single bit possible of GT5. starting with a 65hp fiat for the first week, i so wouldnt mind :D I just love racing.

SCRATCH FTW

polishpride212: Will there be the ability to transfer credits/cars from GT5 Prologue to GT5 like there was for Gran Turismo 4?
skebe: There has to be, right?! I'm sure we'll find a way to not waste your effort.

No matter, would much prefer to start off with a clean slate. That is the joy of a new game to progress and "unlock" all the cars, and tracks, and of course the Liscense Test.:sly:

If not for the used car lots, I'd agree with you. I knew from GT4 news releases that the used lots would return, so I took advantage of the 100,000 Cr bonus for having a GT3 save - I think it was actually 120,000 Cr, but who's quibbling? And I was glad I did, because there were five cars I had to own - well, lots more, but there were five which practically had my name on them. And because of the car cycle from GT2, I knew it would be a while until they showed up again, so I was happy for some time.

Having spent all my money, I had to race with a stock car to start, and began my career with the weakest one and my first buy, an MR2 Mk I. Exploring the physics, discovering the joy of roofcam, it was good times. I'm looking forward to an even bigger, more epic experience this holiday season.

*crosses fingers* ;)

Kaz promised for some Cash transfer at least..

But why would I do that? I waited for GT5 for many years now, and why should I skip best part of the game with SPOILED money?

It doesnt matter really, the cool cars must be won usually, or you cant buy them until you have all the Licenses and by then you will have alot, if not maxed out, credits.

GT5 wont have max credits, thats silly, all the other Gran Turisimos didn't have it, also in previous GT's you were never limited to buying cars if you don't finish licenses.

Maybe just start us GT5Per`s off with double the standard starting money and or a decent car like a evo or something??

Totally agree - I had GT4:P - but didn't take the option of transferring to GT4 as I wanted to play through properly.

Although I do hope it's not a 65hp Fiat, something American or from General Motors would suit me, or an FTO, or something that's not a 65hp Fiat.

All these posts of people saying they want to start from scratch ( I know I do too ) is the exact reason why I suggested that GT5 should have two seperate garages, one for career and one for Online/Arcade. Therefore you can still start from scratch, but will be able to have the better cars ( Transfered from GT5p ) to use Online or in Time Trials. This way everyone should be happy. 👍

Exactly what I was thinking. I would like to start from scratch in the single player and work my way through it but I want to make sure that I can enjoy multiplayer from the start. I don't want to be stuck in beginners/intermediate races and I want to be able to explore different tracks with different cars. Some may say that everyone will start off in the same boat and be racing with similar cars but everyone will be spending different amounts of time on the game so I might not be able to race with my friends that already have 105hp honda civics when I am stuck with my 65hp fiat. I have been thinking that I could use a game save on one account for online at least to start and work from scratch on another account.

An interesting secondary point you bring up here...

I hope that I will be able to have more than 1 game save with GT5...

Previous GT's didn't have this functionality (unless you had more than 1 memory card)

Why can't your friends just jump back in their 65hp Fiats when you want to race them?:odd: It only takes a couple days to start getting faster cars anyway........

To be honest, with the ease at which you can just download a game save, unless they check it wasn't created with your ID originally, I'd rather just have nothing transferred to make it level pegging for everybody. If somebody goes online with an uber fast car, then they clearly earned it.

I think I got ten million dollars and all the licenses in GT3 for having a save of Gran Turismo: Concept... It was good in that it unlocked the later races as I was stuck at the licenses, but... If there is an option to carry over car/cash bonus, I'll probably save it for an uber-expensive car later on in the game. I always hated having to do the same race over and over just to work up to some monumental price tag of a car, which in the end only made it more satisfying to have it in my garage... wait what am I saying?

I think I'll just use any cash bonus to fuel my drift car addiction :sly: - especially if the in-game damage accrued costs money to repair!
