Thats pretty impressive, but not real time is it...

And while it looks and sounds great, the handling and physics "look" like crap :grumpy:
thats not realtime but i've seen demos that looks even better thats realtime... and why couldn't it look that good? didn't you remember the big diference between PS1 and PS2?

Well if they're are enough people happy (stupid?) to buy it regardless of quality/features I guess we will carry on getting a half arsed sequal...

 here we go again....

I'd prefer more "road" circuits than tracks. I've been racing ovals and flat tracks since the 80's on the PC... GT4's bumpy roads are way more entertaining than the smooth ones. Also, it's on roads like these that you can most appreciate road-cars and rally cars, not on some race course wherein it takes a Honda Civic two minutes to cross the main straight!

The PS2 did, if they prioritised right. I think it's fooliush to think a company thats promised good AI 4 times now and not delivered will deliver the next time they promise.

yeah, maybe thats true, but what other racing games for PS2 has improved AI's?

RD, RD2, TIR to name a few off the top of my head. Maybe I'm being over critical of PD, but I think they should get a new team in for the AI because I don't think they are as good at that as other areas, which they are superb at.

yeah, AI specialist's in the team would be great. and i just have to say one thing. they have to work really hard if they wanna realease the game year 2007!!! :ouch:

 There are just some companies that can't get the hang of AI. I remember vowing to myself once, long ago, not to play any other NovaLogic games... again. They had beautiful physics, that unique fluid landscape... but the crappiest AI ever. I went back a few years ago (three years after I made that promise) and tried one of their newer games (Comanche 3, at the time). First five minutes, my team-mates all either shot themselves down or crashed. Wonderful.

I can see changing weather in GT5. And time actting like real life in other words once it gets far more into the afternoon or evening it gets darker and darker.

Real time time scales would be cool. It's very possible but it takes time to make it work convincingly well.

I didnt actually say it couldnt look that good. I do remember the differece between ps1 and ps2. But I also remember all the crap that gets thrown around by hardware manufacturers to hype things up, the emotion chip?!? Hmmm...

I dont think the jump this time will be quite as big graphically, but will need to wait and see I guess. I dont think you will get a grandstand that is that detailed anyway...
Especially in a game that has to handle models and A.I. for 20 cars...

All the demos of games at E3 were shown to PS3 spec even though many were simply movies and not real time. I expect graphics better than that tbh, the F1 demo didn't look all that good.

OK here is what I predict GT5 will be like

- online mode
- 500 cars (cars seen in GT4 and maybe 50 new ones)
- Ferrari, Porsche, Maserati, Lamborghini and other car makes missing from GT series
- more cars on the grid with up to 24 or more in some cases
- interiors on all open top cars , from T-Bars to soft tops
- Formula 1 licensed cars (most likely icon Formula 1 cars from the past and near present)
- all the tracks from GT series plus maybe 5 new tracks and 3 new rally/ice racing tracks
- 3D spectator crowds, marshals and pit crews and other motion captured human elements
- damage visible and simulated (probably limited but certainly better than anything to date)
- drag racing in 2 player and LAN/Online mode
- improved physics with the ability to flip cars
- improved visuals (dynamic lighting, weather, particle effects, skidmarks and 3D wheels)
- improved sound and AI
- more emphasis on customising cars with front and rear spoilers, wheel size and exhaust tips
- few more game modes and tuning options
- multiplayer modes include garage cars and have the option to save replays

:odd: I predict GT5 is going to be specfreakintacular when they release that beautiful game. And maybe if someone from PD involved with this game, or even KY himself actually looked at some of the useful info on this site(ex. what we'd like to see in GT5) then I highly doubt that GT5 will not totally rawk in 2007ish!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sly:

Kojima directs and handles some of the scripts, he's a great guy for the team but give the rest of the team credit too. It's not like Kojima alone made the Metal Gear series, I think it will carry on going from strenth to strenth.

well, MGS4 seems to be the best so far in the series :D semms to be the really deep story that the series are fameous for as well :D.

now on topic: my predictions:

One car of each gen, and more variation of cars. (many cars they dont have in so far that should be in)
Pikes Peak Hill Climb Stage and Indianapolis Dragrace track.
Realistic tiresmoke and skidmarks.
Realistic damage.
Both versions of Nurburgring and one combined with both of them as one track.
Dragracing mod, with dragracing modifications.
Drifting mod (D1 GP like) with Drifting modifications.
Paint shop where you can put on decals, tuning stickers (from Nismo for exampel) and change colour of the car.

EDIT: oh, improved AI as well...

Heres my prediction:

-GT5 will be delayed in Europe
-GT5 will be the most realistic looking racing game at the time
-GT5 will feature a basic online mode, but only stock arcade cars can be used
-GT5 will feature 350 cars
-Damage will not be included
-GT5s AI will be slightly improved, but not enough
-The Japanese car bias will remain intact if not stronger due to a lower number of cars.
-The sounds won't be improved drasticly.
-GT5 won't offer many featurers over GT4 apart from online.
-GT5 no race mods, but spoilers and wheels will remain.
-GT5 will have a paint shop, but you can only change the colour of the car.
-Cars handling will remainly mostly unchanged.
-Larger grids.
-Basic car wear may be implemented, but not as good as 'complex' as Sega GT 2002s.
-No dynamic weather but a few wet courses with amazing pre-done effects.

Bit like GT3 really ;)

Less Cars- Especially special models such as concepts, racecars, special editions, etc. Less American/Euro, but little to no decrease in Japanese. This will be done due to more expensive rendering on the new platform.

Less Features- No more B-Spec, driving missions, timelines, and used car dealerships. It will be simple.

Basically, due to the new platform, GT5 will be simple. GT was simple, but only because it was new. GT3 was on a new platform, so the cars had to be narrowed down. GT5 will be simple, but GT6 will make up for it.

GT3 had less cars but the game was more complex than GT2 and had more features, I dissagree with that reasoning, every new GT has had more features.

lol guys, I'm sure they dont start from 0. They've done alot of work around GT5 while they were making GT4. Plus i'm sure KY knows the weak points of the GT series, and he and he's team is trying to fix it.( AI, Damage, Online racing, etc)

My prediction is around 500 cars, but wouldn't be surprised if there would be more than 700.
