GT5 (probably) playable at Gamescom!

If you are looking for an unorthodox way to hype up a game, Gran Turismo 5 is it. Every other racing game is flaunting new videos and I am actually beginning to LOVE them. NFS: Shift for example. But I guess Kaz and friends know better than me, the silly consumer. I hope their strategy works!

2 months of marketing is more than enough for GT. It will also overshadow forza 3. TGS it is.

I would be very worried if gt5 is not shown at TGS

OPM_UK@JamboGT nothing to report, and pretty sure only the psp version is on the show floor.

Just got this tweet, not looking promising but they have been known to be wrong.

Me too. :nervous:

What about those wheel-enabled racing demo units with Gran Turismo on the seats?!? :nervous:

Guys this repeats itself every conference in the last two years, little to no info, everyone gets pissed, everyone starts claiming "it'll happen at conference x+1". It's fine to hope TGS = a reveal but frankly, don't state it'll happen unless you know. Just setting ourselves up for another round of this nonsense.

It has and it is. Evidence? Look at how many people are viewing GTPlanet right now.

True, but ask each and everyone how happy he/she is. It'd probable be like "uh, so what happened today?" or "no news here, how suprising!". I'd expect more disappointment than anything.

Polyphony suck. All this waiting and absolulely nothing.

We haven't got a shred of news about the game and it has been 5 bloody years. Very frustrating to hear nothing.

That's very false. What about E3 and the updates on here (such as the Santa Claus release date article)? The information is thin at best, but some light has seeped through this jungle we call GTplanet.net. It isn't much, but just enough to feed the plants (us fans!)

In short, yes, I agree. The delay is without deep explanation and the lack of info shrouds GT5 in more mystery than a Sherlock Holmes story.

Not enough, im dying..

Grrr.....

I just remembered the 1up.com Podcast about GT5's release date being revealed at GamesCom - they said "A huge Sony exclusive title that most people didn't think would be out this year - is being released this year"

Or something to that effect.

Hints aside, what other game could they be talking about if not GT5?!?!?!?!?

I hope they are right, too. :scared:

Yeah, me too. :nervous:

I hadn't seen the news article regarding the "unofficial but reliable source", that combined with the TGS (which, frankly, is a far more likely choice for a huge GT5 presence, though this conference isn't over), given certain comments by Jordan (knowing how processes for massive games work, thanks to a mate who is a Sega big wig), I'm fairly confident of a mid-November release.

After tomorrow I will feel disappointed. I think a lot of us have jumped the gun. We shall see.

Oh yeah BTW... the MAG beta is awesome... :P

What’s the next event after TGS? I just want to be prepared when GT5 doesn't appear there as well, and be able to keep my hopes, from now, for the next event, that supposedly is going to show GT5. :):)

For a moment, pretend GT5:P didn't exist.

We've had, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bugatti confirmed along with plenty of new cars. 7 new tracks on top of that.
More importantly, 16 car races, pro physics, damage (to some extent) and drift trial mode.

And now remember that we actually got GT5:P... bit better than some half arsed internet preview, non?

Basically, grow up.

GT5 does have 1000 cars.

No, I meant that we wouldn't get a whole GT5 blowout at this show. I called it yesterday in another thread.

Although it looks like between now and TGS we may get a few tid-bits to hold us over until the actual announcement at TGS.👍
