Its 2006 in that pic, i couldnt find a pic from GT5P with that banner in a high enough resolution but im sure it says 2006 there too.

Ok, but in the end I also think it doesnt really mean much... Just like that picture of the Prologue main menu with a Home icon in it... also didnt mean anything in the end... just speculation :)

ok, the pic say 2006 but GT5P was release in 2007!!!

The pic is from a 2009 event, that mean GT5 will be release in 2010?

Although no-one (except Kaz himself) can give a realistic idea of the release date I think December might be realistic. They will know that, but there are 2 reasons I don't think they want that information out at the minute:

1. They are really pushing the PSP Go, as anyone who watched the (far too long) Sony E3 pitch will know. They want everyone who's fed up of waiting to go out and buy the PSP Go, rather than hold off if they think it's only going to be another 2 months until GT5 comes out.

2. The WRC and NASCAR cars will be, for the most part, season specific. In other words if they over-run into the next year's program they face the problem of having to go back and re-do all of the cars they've already made and make them 2010 specific.

Finally, we have something close to the roman calender, as opposed to "somewhere over the rainbow"

That doesn't really prove anything except the exact event Polyphony is including in the game....

Who's the skeptic now!
Where is the logic "But its in the trailer"!

The first time we saw the Eiger track with that banner was in 2006 in GTHD... can we assume the same for the Toscana banner? hhhmmm...

Don't worry - the release date for GT5 will be released a few weeks after GTM is out to attempt to suck in people who love the game and may fork out for a PS3. The release date will be for December, then be pushed back 2-3 months like GT4 was.

These are just my guesses anyway - don't go putting them on the front page as news!

I think you're a pretty good guesser.

No, I believe, like I said in another thread, that's just the year in which the track was shown. Remember?? GTHD?? 2006?? lol

Personally, I think we'll see much more GT5 info at TGS in late September. It's possible that this is when Sony will show the rumored slim PS3, price drop, and tons of GT5 info, release date, and retail configurations.

The way i see it is GT5 will be at TGS and then it wil come out in march. I am just going to say to myself that GT5 is coming out then that way if it oes come out earlier i'll be exstatic.

i found an evidence about GT5's release date (in Japan), it was here just beneath our eyes, in this amazing E3 trailer...

quite simple, but it works, the Dirt Trial event's name:

Rally Toscana 2009

sounds like it's coming out in japan in 2009. :)

As said in many other threads, that rally date doesn't point to a release date, but there are plenty of sources to suggest a 2009 release, and a reliable source pointing to a simultaneous worldwide release.

that rally date doesn't point to a release date

why using "2009" while they are developing the game then? the events date were correct to the game's release in japan in the earlier games if my memory is right. :D

"2009" is also on the impreza and suzuki "Rally Japan 2009" emblem.

damn! ...unless it is a "2008" :(

I've read all the posts here, and it seems people want perfection in GT5, as do I...yet I wonder....is 5 years going to be the wait for the "next" GT title, GT6? This seems....absurd. That would mean the next GT title would likely be on the PS4. The PS2 and PSOne each sported two GT titles. Now it seems with greater technology, we find ourselves in a paradox. More technology leads to more time to make a good game to support eager and high demanding fans. This leads to long waits= less fun?

Still, GT5 will deliver, but is 5 years the standard rate now?

yes, it comes not only from the fans but also from the format (you have plenty of space in a big disk this time), and don't forget this time many licenses are in (WRC, NASCAR, etc.), that makes longer negotiations, and also the greatest number of car ever. and many side aspects like the online mode that didn't existed before and also the gt-tv contents. GT5 offers more features than GT4, it takes longer to make this, sounds logical to me.

the wait is long but it deserves it, look at the Course Guide videos we have in GT5 Prologue, i like this kind of stuff, the Museum as well.

the paradox is as they improve their graphic engine by adding stuff the game is visual quality drops. play GT HD Concept's track then play the same track in GT5P and you'll notice the visual quality was better on GTHDC. GTHDC's native resolution is higher than GT5P's, you can notice the picture is sharper and more "dense" in GTHDC. the reason for this is GTHDC supported only one car on screen where GT5P had to deal with 16 cars simultaneously. now in the actual GT5 the engine will manage damage... the resource is the same but the task is heavier, i'm worry about this. :|

I disagree with this, especially if we base it off of amar212's post. He stated around 600 (give or take some). GT4 had some 700 plus, though many were Skylines. GT5 should lose some of those, add some Murcielagos/R-GT's, some GT2's, some Diablo's and some 911 Turbo's!

No, because they already have the PS3 GT5 engine in place. If there is a GT6 all it will have is more cars and improvements to what is already in GT5. From GT4 to GT5 it was a longer waiting period because they redid the whole physics engine and added damage and weather (hopefully)

Spring 2010 is my guess. Cant believe how long this game is taking to make. :indiff:

I can, it makes sense, seeing as GT3 to GT4 took 4 years, and its been 4 years since GT4, and factoring in the extra development time because of advances in graphics and a brand new system, I think its actually pretty damn early!

A lot of the wait this time is propably due to the console change.

With almost life-like graphics, even more depth to play thru than GT4(I assume) damage, weather, day-night and downloadable content via online, I'm not sure 5yrs is going to be the same wait it has been in the past. It could be if they figure not seriously starting another game until the last game is totally vanquished, extenting the time to the same or longer wait of the past.

Technology, consumer demand, economics, who knows what will be coming down the pike to influence what and when.

At this point the PS3 maybe more than a 10 yr machine. 12 to 15 maybe.
Look at the PS2, it still sells almost as much as the PS3 and it is woefully out of date comparatively speaking.

Edit : I almost forgot. GT5 would propably be out now if PD hadn't had to squander precious developmental resouces on the PSP.

i forgot about the support for dashboard view in GTHDC > GT5P

you can't compare GT2 or GT4 models with GT5's, the cars are more much detailed now and they have a full dashboard view, there must be a huge difference between GT4 and GT5 in terms of requested time to get the full 3D model.

this interview says it all:

http://www.autoweek.com/article/20090603/CARNEWS/906039991

We do not hold ourselves to a time scale. We try to release something that we are satisfied with.

And it's that simple.. representatives from sony will shout "shooting for christmas 2009 release" but the truth is they dont even know when or where GT5 will come out.
Yamauchi is the CEO/president of PD and does not care about release dates, he calls the shots and there is nobody above him who tells him when to finish the game.

Just to keep it in perspective.. forza 3 can come out and be a threath, Yamauchi probably never looked at it or played it by then, he feels GT is in it's own league (rightfully so) and should be perfect.

That being said.. im thinking 2010, end 2010.. maybe and hopefully mid 2010, but because the last trailer was called "GT5 concept movie" i think they still have a long way to go before GT5 is finished.

Yea, I was going to say, if it isn't already an idea, we may see the same console change delay that we presently are witnessing. That'd be tons of fun! (not)

Remember everybody E3 isn't over yet.
PD can drop some info in between E3 and TGS. GT5 will probably come out befor march 2010

I personally think that there will not be another GT game on the PS3 after GT5. PD will just do multiple DLC's to keep the game fresh until they can start working on GT6 for PS4.

GT5 will be followed by a TT HD. its not sure if tourist trophy HD will come as a DLC or as a new game, a DLC is unlikely due to TT's proper game modes.

also why would they do a worldwide release? GT5P didn't and followed the classic scheme, Asia, Japn, Europe, America, Korea. GT5 would be the same, it will be better for us with new contents added with each new release through updates (like SpecII).

I know people can't wait for the game.

But if PD can really nail it with the extra development time. (Not like GT3 -> GT4)
I'll be willing to wait.

I rather to have a revolutionary game of the generation instead of having many sequels with no big difference.

I hope it is out before december, as any later i may not be able to play it due to me putting my playstation away to avoid being distracted as i have GCSE exams next year.
