After buying video games for years and dishing out the typical $50-60, and sometimes feeling cheated....I almost feel like cheating PD for only having to pay $60 for something so immense and awesome.

Are you serious? The Bus is 60's and 70's epicness, the epitome of being a hippy. I must own, drive, and customize it.
Hopefully they still have the delorean to reenact some Back to the Future chases. :)

Throw a huge spoiler on that bad boy! Annnnd if there are engine swaps hopefully I can sneak a Ferrari engine in mine.

Modify it till its as fast as an EvoX, Top Gear style :dopey:

So, I'm watching the Laguna Seca video, and I can't help but notice the in-cockpit shadows looks absolutely terrible, while everything else is crisp, guessing the car isn't finalized then?

Oh and on the VW Premium discussion, I don't think it's a waste at all, these are some iconic vehicles that will be recognized by a lot of people, maybe even convincing people who wouldn't buy otherwise. (I bought GT4 solely for the '05 Mustang GT, only to realize it sucked )

I think it will be hilariously fun to have a GTP competition solely with the VW bus :dopey: Imagine of 16 of 'em at TG test track :dopey:

The hippy van i can understand. Although no matter how much you modify it you wont go fast

But that other thing is just..... weird.

I just hoped that the limited amount of premium cars would all be well known cars that are at least in some way designed to go fast. This is a racing game after all.

Or is it?

Doesn't it seem odd it's on the map if they are racing the short version? Nurburgring doesn't show the 24h layout on map on the "short" version. The other tracks do show pits on the map though...Looks long and insane but why is it on the map?

First we'll have to do a race with the Schwimmwagen and try to get it in some water :P

Yeah, from my experience, going faster causes wind to catch under my wipers and they don't get everything.

these are racing wiper blades, not your OEM ones.. i replaced my OEM wiper blades with the goodyear ones and they help against wind resistance so they get everything

But do you go above 100 MPH in a driving rainstorm? :P

Those double blade APC ones that look like carbon fiber are the best. It's a scientific fact.

Watching the night replay vid, the cars are missing the lens flares on the lights you see in real life and in GT4

Well that depends on what they're going for, yes, you'd see lens flare if you were looking at it through a camera, but if they're going for the "trackside spectator" effect it wouldn't be as pronounced, or there at all. I did catch a little gleam effect early on but that was more like what an eye would see rather than a TV camera.

New video with the Bus on Gamersyde! =D

Just watched it. Awesome!

However, unless I'm seeing things or am just sleepy...there's some serious rubberbanding 2 minutes, 18 seconds in. Or did the AI driver stop too early?

Spot on :) The lens gives off the effect, similar to how stars appear like shining crosses in pictures, or the sun having multiple rings. It's not possible with the naked eye.

It's a replay, so it should be from a camera.

Plus my naked eye does it too, just in a different way, instead of large broad flares, there a smaller high frequency flares on any light source or specular reflections. It feels empty because of the flares are not there. Those lights are pretty bright, so they don't look right without them

Even GT4 had em

Yeah, but now they need to simulate your eyelashes affecting the light getting to your eye, and making things blurrier based on your eyesight! :P

Just saw the VW bus video, looks pretty good though slow, I like that the AI is making mistakes though, looking really good for the final game!

Well you also have to remember that things still aren't final, and that Kaz has his own vision how the game should look, maybe he doesn't like the lens flare you see in other games or doesn't think it can be done right yet.
