GT5 - The perfect Online experience

I saw a thread today that dealt with weather or not to keep licensing. What about this for an idea. Keep Licenses in the game and use them for online race. I'll explain how it would work -

-Firstly you would have to complete the licenses to play the full game

-When you go online there would be Ranked and Unranked matches. By choosing a Ranked match, you will only be able to race against guys with a similar license to your highest one. And the cars you can race will be dictated by what license you have aswell.

-If you choose Unranked, may God help you. Basically how online is now, now real structure, use whatever car you like etc

-For track selection, a similar system to Team Fortress 2. Basically at the start of a race everyone gets to vote for a track. When the complete the race the same thing happens, except you cannot pick the same track again(to stop the Suzuka,Suzuka, Suzuka races)

-For Ranked no aids, realistic physics etc. Unranked will be Standard physics, all aids etc

I don't think that would work out well. It's better to have your own choice than to vote for wat u want and not get it. That's why private online races will be in GT5. Race with your GTP friends as long as you want on watever track you want and best of all,NO MORE PUNTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would be good to set your own license requirements too:

IA license holders only

or

Gold S License only

I'm guessing that would probably apply for the online events, as such.

i just want us to be able to choose whatever parameters for the races ourselfs within private rooms, the system they got now could still work well atleast for official PD/Sony/Sponsor events!

I think in the full game, you should have to complete a license in order to race online. This would elimate some of the punters and educate them in how to drive properly online imo.

Actually, having licenses as a requirement for racing online at all would turn people away from GT. Some people wanna try the online without having to finish the licenses. I like the OP's idea; licenses required for ranked matches only.

Nice idea. Or.. Complete Licence tests to drive in PRO mode..


But hey. PRIVATE rooms will be there so no need for that.. All respectible GTP players will have passwords in order to join best servers ever for best races
