I wonder if most people would prefer they actually finish the other 800 cars, or would they prefer a track editor? hmm

Depends how useful the track editor is. If they can make a track that looks anything like spa then yeah. But if not then nah.

Thought I would post in hear again now the track editor has been confirmed, so what tracks are you going to make. I will make goodwood circuit to the best of my ability and if it's rubish I will keep it to myself and ask someone else to do it.

I like tracks will altitude changes and long sweeping bends so my cirucit will have long sweeping bends and it will go up and down :)

I had an idea for the implementation of the track editor / creator. What if we could trace real life roads via something like google maps? The track editor could lock in on the road, and also capture other real life data such elevation and basic scenery (lakes etc). I would love to create a track based on roads that I've actually driven on.

I also think collaboration is the key to creating some truly killer tracks. Whether that's a feature of the track editor itself, or just something that is done on this forum, content that is a verified by a community of people would produce some really top notch creations

Not meaning to be a pessimist, but I think that if there will be a track editor in it, then it will likely edit EXISTING tracks... I dont really see there being a track editor a la Modnation Racers...

I totally agree with the google maps thing. I used to hand out tourist maps as a summer job one time, and I would also look at the map around my town and think up new race tracks. Something like this would be excellent.

I'm still quite skeptical over whether a track editor really exists in GT5 or not, but if there really is, I'll be quite a happy person.

The first track I'll re-create in GT5 will definitely be Watkins Glen International. I'll be heading up there in 2 weeks (not that that's a big deal as I could basically walk to the place) so I'll be sure to bring my camera and take lots of pictures so I can perfectly recreate the circuit.

Is there an option for both?

No track editor and the 800 cars the way they are makes GT5 very dissapointing for me.

Track editor INSTEAD of 800 cars being finished... that's a tough one... track editor could be awesome (and again it could be a huge dissapointment like you can put cones on the test track)

800 cars finished and not rack editor... I would actually like that because that's what I had expected and hoped for this whole time.

Both 800 cars finished AND track editor... :dopey:

Hmmm, tracks to create:

- My local track
- Miller Motorsports Park
- Firebird Raceway road course (Bondurant driving school course)
- etc, etc. :)

We've been misled by magazine interviews in the past, I'd say this could be more of the same. If the track editor was anything serious, I don't think PD would have kept it secret until now.

1st - My home town circuit
2nd - Vila Real (Portugal) Karting circuit
3rd - Braga Karting circuit (my favorite one)
4th - Portimao (Portugal) Circuit
5th - Porto circuit

A possible hint at the track creator?

A big patch of tarmac where you mark out a route :ill:

.

If you read the interview, it clearly says creator not editor so this means that if he is right we will create are own tracks not edit others.
