I can now confirm that the app is running without issues on a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1... Even that the text does look a bit big... ;)

Everything seems to be working perfectly on my Sony Xperia Ray, my only slight issue is tickboxes, but that is more than likely due to my stupidly high density screen :dopey:

Many thanks to you both for letting me know about these machines. I've tried to emulate them in the development kit but I'll try and revisit, see what I can do.

With the tickboxes, I'll try and increase the size: I know I purposely decreased them in order to fir everything on the smaller screens.

Hey there. Sorry for the silence on thoughts. Just noticed (after using this like forever) that there's no option for sports flywheel or single plate clutch.
Another small thing was the names of cars, when loading specs. When selecting the car for example...the skyline kpgc whatever, will not have the full name in view on the load option, any chance it could scroll?

p.s i agree with pop-up. It is a stupidly long car name lol.
Oh, and it's stil working fine on my Samsung Galaxy S (I9000).

Hey! Glad someone found the hidden message! There are lots of cars out there with stupidly long names: The Alfa Romeo GIULIA TZ2 carrozzata da ZAGATO CN.AR750106 ’65 is one that springs to mind (Although I had to look up the full name!)

When selecting cars, use the navigation button on your phone to move up and down the list. The currently selected car will then scroll its full name, albeit slowly!

I hadn't spotted that the flywheel and clutch were missing. To be honest, I don't think I've ever installed a sports flywheel or a single plate clutch, so that's probably why I've overlooked them. Can't promise anything for the short term, but I'll see what I can do about getting them in there. I'd like the app to be as complete as possible, so thanks for spotting this and letting me know.

Many thanks for the feedback!

No worries. Glad I can help in the dev of this app (not too techno minded, but I can use them well :)

Tried your suggestion but the list is stationary (once the item is selected or long pressed the line just lights up, no scroll for the name) I'll try to attach an image for you

It seems your phone doesn't have a trackball for navigating. I've found some sample.code whic explains how to display multiple lines in the list, so I'll try to incorporate this.

App runs flawlessly on my HTC Magic (old Android)

Very glad to hear it and thank you for letting me know.

I've another update coming in a few days time which should just tidy up a few things with the app.

As always, do let me know if you find any problems or have any suggestions on how to improve it.

works find on my android 2.3.3 HTC Desire S. When can we get the full version of this app? I don't mind to pay for it, it's a great app and worth to paid. And is it possible to have it on ipad?

Great to hear that it works well for you and thanks for letting me know.

There's another beta coming in the next few days which should be very close to the 'full' version. As I said in a previous post, there won't be a paid-for version of the app, as I wrote the app but the Quick Tune and Gear calculator belong to oppositelock. So it would be complicated to sell the app.

And there won't be an iPad/iPod/iPatch/iiCaptain version as Apple want $99 for the development kit which you can only run on an Apple Mac. Digital handcuffing is the best term I've heard to describe this practise and I simply won't buy into it. Sorry to disappoint.

Great, awaiting the next update and the full version. Thx 👍

Version 0.80.0 is now available

Changes are as follows:
  • Added: Validation of Spring Rates and Ride Height on the first screen
  • Added: Validation to the import car and restore tune functions
  • Fix: When entering the value for a component, there is better error checking for invalid input. Also the + and - buttons won't now try to increment an invalid value
  • Fix: Corrected the code that displays digits after the decimal point.
  • Change: Custom background for the drop down selector.
  • Change: Clutch and Flywheel on Parts screen become drop down selections.
  • Change: Component dialogs are now a uniform size.
  • Change: Car and Tune names which are long are now displayed on more than one line on the load screen.
  • Fix: Min brake balance can be 0
  • Change: If the values on the 'Car' screen are left as 0, you can still enter a Tune for that car. Useful if copying down a tune from another source and you don't have time or access to the car's settings.

There are lots of other minor changes and fixes which should make the app easier to use.

A huge thanks to MikaelK and kebabs for helping me with this release. 👍

As always, your feedback is most welcome: Tell me what you like, what you don't like and what you'd like to see in the app.

Cheers.

Just gave the new version a shot on an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2. Worked flawlessly. Used QR code to pull up mediafire link and downloaded .apk. It didn't give me any problems while installing. 👍

Just out of interest, which browser do you use on the phone? I've used Dolphin in the past and it wants to save the apk file as a txt file.
I've just switched to Opera and initial impressions are good. It saves the apk with the correct filename.

Again, all confirmed working on my Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, and I only just realised I don't have the right resolutoon screen! My Ray has a high density 854 x 480 screen. Everything looks fine now! Everythimg is the right size 👍 looking forward to the final version :D

Just for reference, I am using Dolphin HD ver.7.1.0, and I have no issues about saving into txt...
I had previously on earlier version but not anymore.

My stupid phone had kept me on version 6.1 of Dolphin HD. Absolutley no idea why. As you state, the latest one saves the file correctly.

Has anyone tried this on the New Amazon Fire tablet.....I downloaded the file ( GT5 Tuner 0.80.0apk ) from the Fire and it froze at "Your Download is starting"

A quick Google search tells me that the Kindle Fire is an Android 2.3 device and so there is no reason this app should not work on it.

However, if your Kindle freezes when it is downloading, that suggests a browser problem. Are you using the built-in browser or have you installed Opera/Firefox/Dolphin/etc? Can you download other files using the same browser, e.g. a podcast or pdf?

If you cannot download anything, then my suggestion is to install one of the alternative browsers and see if that works for you.

I used the browser provided on the stock ROM and it downloaded fine.

I remember hearing about AT&T not allowing any .apk to be saved from websites because of people downloading pirated apps from 4shared.com. Haven't tried out any other browsers yet. Will give Opera a shot!

i'll give it another try this evening.....thx

Is the Kindle Fire on AT&T?

I'm hoping to put the app on the Android Market in the new year which should solve the AT&T problem, plus it will then prompt you when an update is available. I've a lot to sort out before that happens though, so don't hold your breath!

You've done a very thorough job so far so I commend you for that.

I just wanted to add some information after trying out a custom tune made for my Ferrari 599. I took it around Tsukuba with stock suspension settings and lapped a 1:05. I then put all my car's stats in your program and generated a suspension tune. Pulled off a 56 second lap. No mods added or removed. Car felt very balanced and predictable. THANK YOU!

Really glad to hear you like the app and are using it, but kudos goes to oppositelock for the Quick Tune calculations.

That's a pretty impressive laptime!

Thanks oppositelock. The car isn't even maxed out on mods. No weight reduction on it yet. I absolutely love it.

So, what does everyone think of version 0.80.0 now you've been using it for a while?

Any problems or suggestions for improvement?

All seems good, enjoying tuning and racing too much.
Suggestion would be the background pic turn into a simply sexy dark green alfa *winks* lol

I'd have to make the app have an "Adult only" rating!

Thats ok I'm over 18 (slightly);-)
You gonna be online Friday night ( my saturday doc)?

Everything working fine here. Can't think of anything that bothers me in any way. Oh, 1 thing I was wondering about, is there any way to incorporate the alternative brake balance formula in to the Version 3 Quicktune page as you did for Version 2? Sometimes I prefer the alternative settings.

Great work as always!

Just to let you know that the app is working perfectly on my Archos 7o internet tablet.

I have not been up long enough to try out any of the tunes yet, but I will get back to you later :)

Thank you very much to RDAardvark, and of course to oppositelock!
