GT5 Viewing Distance

So because my 720p vs 1080p discussion was so popular here's a new one. How far do you guys sit from your tv when playing. I have a 50" LG 720p plasma and usually sit 7 feet away but occasionally get a chair and sit no more then 2 feet away to feel more into the action when in cockpit mode. What do you guys prefer and any observations of 1080p on a similar tv size up close. I'm upgrading to 1080p this weekend.

well.The distance I sit at varies on whether I'm playing online or not.Single player=8',online=4'.Why?Because my mic is such a cheap piece of crap that it refuses to work at anything over 4',even though it say's it can work up to 10.My tv is a 2010 model Samsung 32",native 720p but can handle 1080p.I sit about 6' when using my wheel also.

I'm maybe 6 feet away using my wheel and I have 40" 1080P Samsung.

I have a playseat and g27 and sit about 3 feet away from a brand new vizio 26" led 1080p. I moved my setup to the basement a few days ago. I used to play on an older sharp aquos 32" 1080p i at 5 feet away in my room, and the led vizio is much nicer picture. I also put a 5.1 surround on my playseat with subwoofer under the seat! I'm feelin it!

About 10 feet away from a 42inch 1080P Sony LCD at eye level.
Pretty sweet.

you can use this chart as reference

also you can decide whether you need 1080p or not. for example, using 32" LCD on 1080p will not benefit you if your viewing distance is more than 10-ft
