Race 1 Corvette Z06 Tuned

Event runs from Sept. 22 2008 until Oct. 3 2008

Times must be posted by 24:00 Oct. 3 2008 GMT

Times can be posted beginning 01:00 Sept. 22 2008 GMT

This Event is to be run in Arcade Mode Time Trials in Professional Physics and is Race 1 of 12 in a championship series

The Tracks
High Speed Ring Reverse
Daytona Super Speedway
Fuji Speedway GT
Eiger Norwand
Suzuka Circuit
London Reverse

The Rules

Drivers will only post times that comply with the following conditions.

Drivers will save a ghost replay for all times posted except Daytona Speedway this track requires a full replay. These replays do not need to be posted any where , but race officials may request a copy of a drivers replay at anytime during and up to 12 days beyond the event deadline.

Around the edges of every track we are running except for London is a painted white line that changes to yellow at pit accesses and occasionally stops and starts at copings and similar boundaries.

Both tires on one side of the car must remain within that outlined area. When a tire is completely outside of the paint stripe or a coping marking the track perimeter it is considered outside of the allowed racing surface. You may allow two tires to come in contact with runoff areas , shoulders, copings and sidewalks but both tires on the opposite side of the car must remain within the tracks painted outline. In the case of London where the track makes use of side walks and is completely outlined in barriers any surface inside the barriers is considered an allowed racing surface.

The short of it .Think tennis on the line is good ...out is out.

At no time will a driver post a time for a lap in which the car comes in contact with any course barrier, such as but not limited to guard rails , walls ,railings and hydro barriers.

Posts will be made to this thread .Drivers will post "ALL" of their times for each track in a single post and will update that post as needed to record progress. All times posted must be for laps made during the events 12 day period and must be posted before the event deadline.

In the event that more than 50 drivers participate in any given event only the top 50 posted times will score finish position points. Drivers finishing outside of the first 50 positions will be able to score participation points.

Considerations for drivers with obligations such as vacation or situations such as illness will be handled on a case by case basis and must be requested in writing to Postmaster@TunersPit.com no less than 6 days prior to event deadline. In the event that an extension to the deadline date is awarded the extension can not exceed 6 days from the event deadline.

Hello GTP members, my I'm Forgetful, and I am Moose's Race Official. I will be responsible for collecting and reviewing replay submissions. I can also be contacted about any concerns, should Moose be unavailable.

Here's the working man's recap (and where I will try to answer any general questions):

* Take the car listed above to the tracks listed and run Arcade TTs on pro physics

* Make one post in this thread (this thread being the thread set up for each specific event) to keep track of your times. Edit that post to change or add times through-out the event.

* You have 12 days per car. Only times recorded inside those 12 days are legal.

* You can post a time, and improve on it later.

* Stay clean.

* There will be two championships fought based on one set of results. The first, a position based points championship where finishing order determines points scored. The second will be a rally style cumulative time challenge, where all 6 times for one car will be added up to give a 'Total Time'. Points will then be added based on the finishing order in each car.

* There's no obligation to run tracks in any specific order, just the cars. Feel free to post one 'time' at a time, on whichever track you so choose.

* Save your ghosts for each track. Race officials will be making random requests to see them within 12 days (the cycle of the next car) If you're not sure about your capability to upload replays, contact Moose or me.

* All are welcome. No previous qualifications necessary.

* FYI, for the Total Time Challenge, a missed track will result in the player recieving the slowest recorded time, plus a 5 second penalty for the first missed track, and 5 more seconds per missed track. So miss two tracks and the second missed track will recieve slowest time plus 10 seconds, then 15 then 20 and so on, in the track order posted for that car.

* If you're sure your fastest time was clean, save just your ghost. If you're not 100% certain, save your enitre replay. REVIEW YOUR REPLAYS BEFORE SUBMITTING TIMES. If officials identify illegal laps, a single warning will be followed by disqualification. I realize we are just getting under way, and no one will be subjected to scrutiny until the close of the first event. If you come across an illegal run by an opponent, please let Moose or me know privately.

* The race officials are aware that there's advantage to be gained at Daytona Oval, by contacting the wall on the lap before your flying lap.The spirit of the competition frowns upon this tactic. From here on out, we will ask that you save your whole replay file for any competitions at Daytona Oval.

PRO PHYSICS

Wow, a whole "series"? It's hard enough to get used to running halfway decent at one track and you've got an entire series set up. It's sort of like the series PD has set up in the games.

Are all tracks required for the event specific car?

Yes, most of us ran the car at all 6 tracks and posted the times to compare to the other participants. We then looked for where we might improve the most and went to work on those tracks.

There is a provision being worked on for missed tracks, something like a missed track would earn a time equally to the slowest time posted for that track and a penalty of 5 seconds. For a second track missed it would be the same but with a 10 second penalty, and so on.

Moose, I will start working on my time trials tonight. I will try and get as many times posted before friday I am just not sure how competitive they will be since I am starting so late.

This is taking some time for me as I am still tring to get a clean race in for part 1 of the GTp event. But this is a blast.:)

OK gentlemen I have updated the boards to reflect the current unofficial times.I have done this so anyone wishing to improve thier position can see where the most time might be gained.

Good Luck
Moose

RED FLAG! Race is prematurely ended due to the update. We will be continuing on schedule, with the event resuming with the the 350Z's 12 day cycle, Oct 4th. See the first post for schedule information.

Apologies, but since we don't know if the physics are changing, we can't accept replays for the Vette made post-update.

Correction

Once the update is live, the event is closed. This gives a little time to run off the last few. better hurry

I ran Fuji the other night and have a [clean] time. I can't post it right now, watching the Incrimental Hulk.

I will go over this board to correct the errors and post a list of replay request this weekend.

I want to thank every one of you that came out to race and I hope to see you in Race 2 which is now live.

Good Luck
Moose

So, we're not going to restart the event considering the new physics?

My final times are updated.
