GT5's >MISSING< Tracks & Circuits [Moving on to GT6]

-> With all the commotion about the upcoming 2.03 Update, I was unable to update the list as of the moment. :guilty:

Good to see other ardent SSR11 fans around. đź‘Ť
^ I've been an ardent SSR11 fan since GT2 (for SSR11 '90s) and GT4 (for both SSR11's). It just got worse/angrier when GT5 was released, now I'm picketing digitally like those OCCUPY Movement people in real life.

OT -> ...
PS: Have you taken a look at my list? Can you PM me some feedback?
^ Oh yes, but I have yet to browse the list in detail. ;)

EDIT -> Seems like Route X is a dual-purpose as quoted by this person...

uhhh im just throwing this out here for those of you who haven't thought of it this way, the second green icon in that figure 8 COULD be a skid pad course to record the G-Force

^ This may seem to be true too!

I wonder if we can see in the background portions of other Special Stage tracks from Special Stage X Oval. Surely, they must be from the same "City".

My interpretation, and it may well be wrong, of the infinity / figure 8 icon, is that it tests your car for you in some way. Like a standardised test, as far as Bobs can be consistent anyway.

Also, I'm thinking the same thing about "Special Stage City"... :dopey:

What can I say...Vanishing Boy, this project ROCKS! You got me all excited about Test Course coming to GT5, and today I open the browser...BAM! We're getting it! :dopey: :dopey:

What I'm trying to say is, you have done a wonderful job getting all this information together, and that got me all exited for a return of Test Course. And now that it's finally coming...I just can't wait! :sly:

I know for a fact in SSR5, the last portion, when your driving by the trees, the last corner that goes up to the main straightaway, right before the wall blocks your view.

If you go to picture mode and walk by the banks, look out, you will see the water and you will also see cranes and the such. That could be SSX, I'm going off my memory because I was "walking" around SSR5 some nights ago.

-> I have to keep reminding myself to update the list as soon as I'm done replying here... :ouch:

^ As I found out in detail that this Route X is no Special Stage nor even as a Driving Park stage. ;)

-> For it to be a Special Stage, it has to be within the metropolitan area (ie. SSR5/CSR5 & SSR11) within 'the city' itself. Or even an industrial complex (as what SSR11 & SSR7 provided). As what I've seen on the NXS vid, Route X isn't anywhere near a 'city' or an 'industrial park'. ;)

-> For it to be a Driving Park, it does not have any "green" scenery at all. If anyone can recall GT3 and GT4, just look at these vids...

^ All of these tracks are almost at the same area! Just look at their enviroment, they are unmistakenly similar!!!

-> The massive scale of R-X shows its within the Harbour & a hilly desert on which the Observation (satellite) dish/es are laid out. The Odd-Ball tower might serve as an oversized light house since its placed close to the ocean. :boggled:

^ I would think its similar to Motor Trend Magazines firgure-8 test as what the G-meter test is laid out. :)

^ Thank you for the compliment! :)

BT -> Route X surpassed my expectations hands down! It has a combination of the Driving Park: Test Course '00s (from GT3/GT4) and the Ehra-Lessien VeeDub test track!

-> The only thing missing in my book is Test Course '90s (inspired from the JARI test track) for those epic close online battles!

You can see ferry carnes in certain parts of the background in SSR7, so I'm wondering if they are the approximate location where SSRX is located.

It definitely looks like an industrial area however, with a cargo port and such.

-> There you go kids, Route X is included on the list as a temporary basis until DLC is up for download. :)

^ I might as well pull out my GT5 disc to check it out tomorrow, its too late for me to play it now... :indiff:

^ The only thing that concerns me IF those cranes from SSR7 and R-X are the same. If not we might as well know the answer. Sure SSR7 has a cargo port, but not a harbor or a pier...will check it out thouroughly after sleep...

On SSR5 Reverse you can also see some of them clearly just before the first long left corner. I wonder if they're the same however.

^ The question is, which SSR5?

'90s (from GT1 / GT2 / GT3 / GT4 / TT / GTPSP)

OR

'10s (from GT5)

-> I might have to really look it up later...

-> ...
Are these cranes on SSR5 you guys are talking about?

=Imageshack Pics=
Yes. Also, but I'm not sure and can't check right now, I think there are others in the distant background.
^ Hmm, although SSR5 and R-X had the same shipping crane design (based on overall shape). R-X has too many shipping cranes within the same coverage area. While in SSR5 the cranes are so far apart from each other.

^ As anyone can see on these images, R-X is nowhere near on any Special Stage area. R-X is located on its own peninsula with a shipping harbor/pier on the middle. Given by the immense size of the track, it doesn't seem to interfere with any of its "PDI Line" ships and due to its elevated bridge height.

:)

On the last pic I took, there we're two or three cranes together (plus the one I took photo). It's because some trees that are on the wall side didn't want to be reforested
And the ship appears too behind those trees.

^ It doesn't matter on how you took your pic, what matter is on how the cranes were positioned. As far as what I've seen they are too far apart compared to SSRX.

-> I just woke up so please bear with me, I left a quote at the General Discussion thread on the stats of the newly formed SSRX:

^ I have a gut feeling that SSRX will have the same width as DPTC '00 (from GT3/GT4), but the length will will 4 to 5 times longer.

-> I have to go to do some real life things, so I'll be back for further observation on SSR5 '10s...

:)

It's either a coincidence or Route X is apart of the Special Stage 'City'

Btw-The environment and the track all look impressive. I can't wait until it does arrive

I haven't investigated yet, going to try tonight, but the overall background reminds me a little of Cape Ring. There seems to be a harbor if you look out from the track. I can't remember if it is before the loop or just after. The only thing missing from the harbor is the tower... This might just be crazy speculation though.

I'll try to post pictures unless I am beat too it.

It's really bad quality... Maybe the track under construction?

Cape Ring is very loosely based on the scenery of the northnern part of the Izu Peninsula, Japan, as confirmed by Yamauchi in a tweet several months ago. You can even see mt. Fuji in the background. I don't think it has anything to do with Special Stage Route X.

So still no clues where is Route X is based... I still believe that is based in the CSR5/SSR5/SSR7/SSR11 city...

I always enjoyed Midfield and Seattle Circuit. It would be awesome if those two came back. Now that we have Route X, all we need is a skidpad with user-selectable diameter. Those videos sure make all the previous GT games look like crap, but they were the newest and coolest thing when they came out!

Well, it seems Test Course is out and Oval X is its replacement.

Still waiting for more classic tracks. I'd trade Cape Ring for any other classic track.
