GT6 Aero Parts?

GT/Polyphony logic: "Aero parts" = only wings, invisible "extension" parts and flip-ups on only 20 or so cars.

Too pessimistic. I doubt thousands of aerodynamic parts mean 1000s of spoilers. Plus, he said almost all cars, not 20 or so.

He also said it wouldn't be restricted on standard cars. Like GT5, you can't add front or extension aero parts on standard cars.

The main thing I want is paintable wings.. I know this seems menial and benign to most people but I personally find it important.

Colour coding or placing decals on wings is something I rarely see in games and I have no idea why..

Carbon fibre isn't some kind of paint repelling material =/

^^ true. At the moment I think only the M3 has a body coloured 'GT' wing, although it can't be painted separately.

It would be great to have wide body, gt3 style mods and ability to change wheel width to fit.
Like that kinda thing, but more custom than a prebuilt race-mod.

NFS Underground 2. They had everything, widebody kits and separate bumpers. Then again, they didn't have a lot of cars to implement. Still, few cars should have it in GT6. Please PD.

I'd really like widebody kits on my NSX and RX7!

Or just add more Race mods that are actually true to the real life counter parts and then have pieces that can be changed. Thus upgrading it to GTE or GT1 or keeping it a GT3 type car and just swapping out wings that work better for low to high aero grip tracks.

I don't know why but I think we'll be disappointed with the promised aero parts.

I hope I'm wrong, because I'm really excited for this game.

Agreed, that's why I'm holding my hype low about the aero parts side. :\

I'm just going to wait and see first.

I don't want to get too hyped either. I really hope that if they go fairly extensive with the race-modable cars that they allow for customisation of that mod afterwards. Re-colouring, either editing or picking between a few custom livery's or even removing all livery. Also, you should be able to fit the wide body kit and accompanying wheels in the aero section. This will be like a half way race mod, for cheaper and for those who don't want to go all out and still have the car at least look somewhat road worthy.

^^ true. Only a handful give a 40mm drop and the old school cars don't drop low enough to emulate this:

I hope that as well as having maybe 20 generic wings for all cars, they have some unique wings for specific cars too. Basically merging the GT4 and GT5 systems. Also I want there to be aero mods for each car at least so that aero options can be placed on every car. Finally, I want Standards to have the same body treatment as Premiums, even to a reduced degree, though I doubt this will happen.

The Lexus LFA RM is my pick, but in all reality alot of cars need the race mod treatment because in real life there are countless race cars in the world, any car can be made a race car.

True, but I think only the cars that are mainstream race cars should be allowed. Thus the ZR1s, 430 and 458s, even 599, M3, Z4, GTR, LFA, Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, Ford GT, RX8, Cadillac CTS-v or any other GTE cars like the Astons or Jaguars or even the Lotus as well as the Continental Tire cars.

Also if we just got race modified versions of neo DTM and Super V8 cars, we could easily take care of the rest. And it would get around the whole license issue in having to obtain them...perhaps.

From GT5 Prologue, the aero parts from the Tuned Renault Clio V6 are in GT Auto but, we don't have a Clio V6 TC. The Clio Cup cars are in the UCD but, I wonder why we didn't get a full on TC(w/roll cage). Makes me wonder if cars like the Golf IV in GT6 will be able to use the aero parts from the Golf IV TC. Parts from the TCs are already 'made'. If these are part of the thousands available in GT6, just tick off the parts from the 17 TC we have now.

There's clearly some long-planned in-hand fleshing-out going on - just what form that takes, and how flexible it turns out to be, I daren't guess. I would love a new, non-fixed approach to Race-Mods, though - plus the whole cars-modeled-as-separate-parts thing hasn't really been taken proper advantage of yet. (hyphen)

I hope we can also drop our springs a bit lower too, -25mm on most cars is nothing really.

It's actually more than that. The suspension upgrades lower the car automatically when installed. About an inch. Not much, but its noticeable.

Personally, I think I'd like it if customisations included things like rocket bunny and bensopra aero kits, and the ability to add stupid aero and offsets even if it makes the car undriveable, would make a nice change to all other racing game, where aero kits are assumed to make everything better

Veilside makes some outstanding aero parts. You can hardly recognize the car with some of the body kits.
