Expect the same we had at the EB Games Expo here in Australia a couple of weeks before: just a couple of racing pods running the same demo version we already saw at other events.

You sure Mclaren is not a houshold name?

McLaren, perhaps. Bruce McLaren, no. If you ask most people who founded McLaren, they would be scratching their heads. I am not belittling his achievements in motor racing but simply he is not a household name. Considering some here didn't even know who Senna was (and he is arguably the most recognisable driver from before the GT series started) why would they recognise Bruce?

Australia wishes it could be New Zealand!

And I wish too :(

New Zealand on the other hand is a tiny market, and they don't have any internationally renowned circuits or household-name drivers. It isn't a premier event for the gaming industry and PD would not maximise exposure for any features they announce by being there.

The only two are Bruce McLaren and 1967 F1 world champion Denny Hulme

Maybe if McLaren were founded in New Zealand and was a New Zealand car manufacturer (or they emphasised more on McLaren's history), Bruce may have been a household name?

Hmm, speaking of which, here's a track list I put together for our racing group Pure, I was wondering if someone could verify:

- Matterhorn Circuit
- Mount Panorama (Bathurst)
- Silverstone
- Willow Springs International Raceway (Big Willow)

Hey all the demo we were playing only had the Mount Panorama (Bathurst) track.

The track was cool but some odd physics stuff happened, occasionally you would drive over a chicane and the car would randomly jump up high in the air.

Great win for Louie_Schumi, me and another guy were trying to beat his 2'05.5 for about an hour and then right near the end of the competition time Louie_Schumi comes back stone cold drops it to 2'05.0

Couldn't help it! Bugged me how I didn't have the quickest time of the weekend so decided to give it a proper crack yesterday lol.

Was a nice atmosphere there this year. There was none of the wall-riding nonsense we were plagued with the year GT5 was released.

Managed to get my hands on a few videos of GT6 around Mt. Panorama on the race-spec GT-R and the Light Car Co. Rocket. They were taken on my phone though so when I get them up on YouTube hopefully the lighting and exposure gets somewhat corrected.

This was the main menu screen with "Single Race" and "Time Trial" tabs waiting to be selected. Videos to follow...

Cool, we definitely need some better quality footage where we can see more track detail of Bathurst. Thanks!

Daytona Road and Spa supposed to be Time Change.

Oops didn't take the other video out of private. It should be fine now. Here's part one of the Light Car Co. race

Thanks to @Xalelexx and his Mrs. for recording my fail DS3 skills.

EDIT: Part 02 uploaded. That was faster than expected.

Thanks for the vids Louie. Any impressions? Maybe it's the white balance and colors but many of those trees look noticeably like 2d cutouts. Did they look better in person? GT's Spa has 2d trees too but you could barely tell they were 2d and they gave off a pretty realistic impression.

Oh my god oh my god oh my god...
What is it feels to try GT6 with one of the new Sony Personal 3D viewer?
The current version it makes you feel out of this planet...

...Besides that, how can you tell us about physics?

Here's what I've got uploaded so far.

Have to remind you that this was taken on a smart phone and there was a competition running during the day so what we were able to do/change was quite limited. More to follow provided NZ's archaic internet holds up tonight.

Thanks for posting this! Some relatively clean driving too!. Looks like PD have done a great job of authentically recreating Bathurst.

Thanks for putting up with the recording quality of my phone! It most likely has something to do with the exposure/auto-adjust that the Galaxy S3 does plus the lighting in the place wasn't 100% suitable for trying to do some sort of screen capture with a mobile.

In saying that; the look of the demo was great. It's difficult to go back to GT5 after getting a taste of 6.

I took the Sony 3D viewer off before the race even started. I'm not sure if it was my eyes or they just didn't have the thing set up properly but it was very blurry when I put the thing on. Just did the Rocket single seater race from the 2D screen.

I think I made a comment on the physics of the demo in the previous page but in a nutshell, a simulation racing game is a simulation racing game is a simulation racing game. There is a step-up from GT5 though; the GT-R had a twitchy rear end under braking even with ABS on so PD has definitely looked at the finer details more. I don't remember the GT3 GT-R being like this in the GT Academy 2013 Demo though but it could be due to the driving aids that were turned on; tyre choice and/or elevation changes that made the car feel that way in this build.

Not a problem! I probably should have started doing this earlier but bleh; better late than never! I'll probably do this more regularly with GT6 once I get my hands on the game since it is somewhat fun. Just have to get better with getting better quality videos haha.

About the job PD did with recreating Bathurst; they are generally very good with recreating circuits when they laser scan a place anyway. My only gripe is their representation of the Monaco Grand Prix track but in saying that their version sure has the Gran Turismo touch to it.

Same thing with Sir Jack Brabham, it's all relative to age and period of time. Jack was Aussie but based Brabham race cars in the UK similar to what Bruce did with McLaren however Brabham never made road cars or not that I am aware of & just constructed racing cars (I may stand corrected on this). Also the internet has made info much more readily available than back in those days when these guys were king. I agree with you SG valid point.

Isn't New Zealand practically Australia?

I don't even know what to say to this stupidity.....wow!:dunce:

It get's down to accents and people stirring ie Ireland and Scotland, Wales and UK, Oz and NZ, USA and Canada, Tonga and Samoa. There are lots of similarities between these countries and the people yet vast differences and one hates when compared to the other and vice versa.

Damn here in Oz we "hate" the other states ie QLD hates NSW, VIC hates NSW, NSW hates QLD VIC and ACT and poor ol Tazzie cops it from every state it's almost veiwed like a redneck precinct (personally have no issues with any state and usually its all in good fun anyway). Name me another country (apart from NZ) where you call strangers your "mates" (friends for anyone who is not familiar with the word maaaaaaaate) and your mates you call F**&wits and C*&^'s - ie "Hurry up Johnno ya f**&^in C*&% gotta get to the bottle-o before it closes"

He thought I was serious even after I pointed out that he thought I was serious... if that makes sense. You actually explained it surprisingly well. It was a joke. "Some" people even think Brits sound like Aussies or simply can't differentiate the two, which was the reason for the Flight of the Conchords video.

weird. Didn't mean to post. I'm still adjusting to this strange site lol.

Where are the emoticons? :(

Well, I might as well make this post somewhat useful.

@Louie_Schumii Pretty sure PD's Monaco is off is because they don't have the license to fully recreate it.
This is true. I think the "Formula One" games have the license. I think PD didn't want to pay for the license also.

We don't have accents mate, you guys have accents...lol.
