GT6 coming 1st quarter 2013? (Nobody knows)

Does nobody remember this quote from Kaz back in 2010?
"10 years ago it was easier to predict what would happen three years in the future," he told EG at the Madrid event. "Nowadays no-one knows what happens in the future. In three years, we don't know what will happen."

That was at a GT5 Release event in November 2010, 3 years from 2010 would be 2013.

The PS4 wasn't announced at CES nor at E3, so unless it's announced at Gamescom (August) or TGS (September) I highly doubt it'll be out in 2013. I mean sure they could announce it at CES or E3 2013 and then release it November/December having 5 or so months to promote it (which is all that's really needed IMHO) however I don't see them doing that. In turn that would put a 2013 GT6 release on the PS3.

1. That's unnecessary. Stop.
2. Evidence?

I did kind of go overboard, and for that I'm sorry.

First off, you don't know that. It could, it could not.

Second, don't freak like that and insult us just because of what we think. You could do without saying;

That is rude and uncalled for.

Again, I freaked. It was rude, I'm sorry.

[Kazunori Yamauchi]: I actually enjoy working. So I do not tend to want to take a Holiday. And of course there are still many things I can do for Gran Turismo. This will probably lead me to begin the development of GT6. Whatever happens I can assure you that waiting for GT6 will not be as long as that of Gran Turismo 5.

From this article.

If GT5 took roughly 5 years, what is "not as long"? 3 years? 4 years? 2-2.5?

This was what I'm getting at and why would they create another game and start a new engine all over when they can just build off GT5? For real.

The gt5 engine can be used on a newer system, no doubt it would be an updated version but the same engine none the less, at the end of the day none of us know when its coming, my guess is ps4 late 2013 but that could be completely wrong and probably is, saying its going to be on ps3 could be equally as wrong! We just don't know

Ugh you people Tick me off, PREMIUMS ARE NOT PS4 QUALITY! They have to be worked on alot more, Its like placing a ps3 car in the ps4?!??! Standards any one? Gt6 could be the gt5 engine with everything improved
Off the top of my head!
Weather and time cycle change on all tracks
NEW versions of trail mountain , grand valley , deep forest, laguna seca
New premiums 100+ < *drop the premium thing and just call them cars , so no standards!*
A hell of allot more a spec events, integrated b spec, better customization and tuning.
5+ more real world tracks and a few new fictional ones?
Better online
Event creator.
Slightly better physics
^^^^^ not much of a wish list just simple improvements
this can all be done built upon GT5 with a new interface. = GT6

Wait, how do you know they aren't PS4 quality? You've seen PS4 cars haven't you? I don't think Sony would appreciate you letting things out of the bag like that, if that is indeed what you're implying.

Me being a smartass aside, I agree with you. If GT6 is a PS4 title and PD ports the GT5 premiums, they'll essentially be "standard" cars for GT6. Don't get me wrong, premium cars are by far the best I've ever seen in any game concerning detail and the overall look, but given enough time, they'll be just as outdated and outdone as GT5's "standard" cars.

So many GT5 haters in the GT5/6 forums. If I didn't know any better, I'd say this is ForzaPlanet....although, I don't even think there's this many GT5 haters there.

Wow 18 mega pixels is not enough for you?! The PS4 must be really powerful.

Two perspective on this one: 1st - could very well be seeing many believe GT5 will be the base platform for at least the next GT. 2nd - probably not based on the time between 4 & 5. So who knows.

He didn't mention Photomode, so not sure what it's megapixel count has to do with anything...

I'm of a different mind-set: I'd be fine with the Premiums being ported over whenever we get a next-gen title (though, I'd still rather see GT6 on PS3). Maybe they could be slightly touched up (the Gallardo's got some pretty rough wheel wells), but they wouldn't bother me half as much as the Standards currently do in GT5, because how the Premiums are currently constructed would transfer much better than the one-piece PS2-quality Standards. I'd rather see a new system's horsepower be harnessed for more cars per race and a lot more complicated physics calculations. Or improved atmospherics, like higher quality tracks, more complicated weather, and... Whisper it... Improved shadows :P.

Photomode 18mp is the the level of detail the ps3 premium cars have at a minimum, it's just the ps3 can't do them in realtime for driving. PS4 might not even be able to do the ps3 cars in realtime either. Maybe PS5 for that. The GT5 premium cars are way future proofed, that's why they take so long to make I expect.

No, Photomode's 18 megapixel output is its maximum, but it has absolutely no relation to the quality of Premiums (or Standards, really). It's outputting the image on screen to a certain size, regardless of the cars (and the rest of the scene) in the picture.

Premium cars are around 500,000 polygons, and the texture resolution in vehicles like the SuperGT cars is unknown to us. But Photomode output size should not be confused with model qualities.

By 18mp I meant that at a minimum this is the level of detail each GT5 premium car has (yes certain cars are better than others). If this is not enough for GT6 I do not even know what to say.

Anyways the real graphical improvements would come from better shaders, shadows, AA and environmental detail.

But 18mp (megapixels) is the resolution of the SCREEN (well.. picture from the photo mode).
It has NOTHING to do with the graphics quality (car models and everything else).

Which part of megapixels having nothing to do with the quality of the model didn't you get? If you take a picture of the floor in photomode it could be 18megapixel, it has nothing to do with the models themselves.

Probably 4096 x 4096 pixels, usually that's the resolution for HD textures in sim racing. The best standards could be 2048 x 2048, which is still good. The majority seems 1024 x 1024, and the worst standards looks 512 x 512. :yuck:

I am pretty sure photomode uses a higher poly count car model.
They use better AA filters and Anisotropic filters. These effects have a huge impact on what you see.

The only way for a current "premium" to become "standard" is for the development process each car goes through to change/improve.

The system it's for has absolutely nothing to do with what data PD collects on the cars. They should have everything they'll need to keep the premiums up to date and driving as well as any new cars they add for a while now, if they collected all the data they should have.
Guess we'll see if they did.

Just because they can't use something for GT5, doesn't mean they can't collect the data(while they're in the car gathering data for current premiums) and implement it in GT6, or GT7, etc.
