Um... what?

Here's what they are saying. If I say that GT6 will be announced in E3 2012, and will be launched in spring 2013, would you believe me? Ofcourse not. This site knows as much as me. But when I am proved wrong that GT6 will be announced at E3 2012 and launched in spring 2013, I can delay it myself until I am proved right. Just like the site.

we wont see another gt for at least a few year that's a fact

No, it's ridiculous. If your "facts" were correct, you'd know Kaz said GT6 wouldn't take as long to make as GT5.

With updates and DLC there is apparently no reason for GT6 on PS3. As Kazunori said, system would stay the same, but there is content added. I would like them to spend some time with new PS4 system already to bring us next GT as PS4 launch title.

PS4 is likely not coming out until mid-late 2014. GT6 can easily be done by November of next year. By the way, the console itself would cost around 500 USD or more at launch, so do you really want to spend hundreds of dollars for a console and a game?

Regarding updates and DLC, I would bet that July will be the last DLC, which includes Twin Ring Motegi (semi-confirmed) and possibly some new cars. We know that those that got gold on the GT Academy challenges are getting the GT Academy cars for free. Afterwards, PD can focus entirely on GT6.

Like another guy said, GT2 was released at the end of the PS1's lifespan, yet it still became one of the best selling PS1 games. Who's to say that they can't release GT6 on PS3, and then develop GT7 to come out 2 years into the PS4's lifespan?

PD has what 150-200 employees right? What is to say that they aren't working on GT6(PS3) & GT7(PS4) concurrently?

For all intents & purposes GT6(PS3) was 80% done when GT5 shipped and I'm sure that the resources that were no longer needed for GT6 were reassigned to starting working on GT7(PS4) years ago already.

Let's say GT6 uses 90% of the base game engine from GT5 & PD has 20 people who do nothing but code on the game engine, with GT6 coming out on the PS3 that means they can more 15 of those people to GT7 to get started on that while the other 5 split their time between patching GT5 (and the GTA '12 stuff) & then also applying those patches & other minor GE updates to GT6.

You figure all the Premium cars from GT5 would be in GT6 so that is already 200+ cars ready to go. As a ton of the Standard cars are essentially the same body (not as in the same model but as in this S car has the same exact body as this P car in real life) as the Premium cars (All those GT-Rs come to mind) just lacking the interior and damage so in theory it shouldn't be too hard to take alot of those and turn them into more Premiums & then keep the rest of the standards the same. Out of once again 20 people dedicate 10 to updating the GT5 Standards & then 10 to adding new models. Most of the Premiums will likely also serve as the starting point for the GT7 cars.

The "bad quality" tracks that are in GT5 really just need texture updates which is something that a few people could knockout relatively quickly (compared to the overall length of developing a game). Once again all the tracks from GT5 transfer to GT6 & likely atleast the physical track models to GT7 which means that any work done for GT5/GT6 cuts down on the overall workload for that section of the game come GT7.

Really what I'm getting at is that the foundation for GT6 was pretty much done right along side GT5 & all that's really left to do would be to create a new UI, reorganize some things, upgrade track textures and about 25% of the existing cars (standards) and then add whatever new cars/tracks they're adding.

You can bet that GT6 is sitting there waiting for the OK to pull the trigger and finish it for the PS3 (if it does not have the OK already), GT7 is well into development concurrently & GT8 is already being "Storyboarded" out & having it's contracts with Manufactures/Real Tracks/Real Brands signed sealed & delivered to the Sony/PD legal department.

I hate to rain on every-bodies parade too but the PS2 to PS3 was a big leap because there was a big leap in actual technology both in storage mediums & displays, however PS3 to PS4 (all rumored specs aside) appears to be similar to the transition from PS1 to PS2. Yeah the PS4 may have more RAM & a newer GPU/CPU but other then that there isn't any big "Wow!" development in technology, atleast not any that are anywhere close to being mass-market ready (4K/8K displays, 1TB SSD 'cartridges' instead of Disc, etc) that can be incorporated into the PS4.

Also how close the PS3 & PS4 in Development terms has yet to be seen by the general public. Can the PS3-GT engine be used as the base for the PS4-GT engine or will it have to be completely re-written? What kind of file compression does the PS4 support, what kind of file compression has the PS3 added via updates that could help make GT6 "better" then GT5? GT6 exist in some form currently, why it's in the stage it's in, why it's on what system it's on, Etc etc etc.... Those are all questions that we the general public will never know, yet at the end of the day those really are the only questions that truly matter because within the answers to those questions are the answers to both the future of the GT Series & the Playstation brand of consoles.

And yes it's 6:30am and I'm half asleep so what's typed above may be kind of "Rambling". l0l

I'm going to take a wild guess and assume this is the same Fisha from the NTG forums.

No one else would put this much elaboration into something. :P

There's no way gt6 will be released in 2013 you guys are crazy if that's what you think look how long gt5 took to be released I'll put my life on it we don't see gt6 in 2013

What the hell do we need GT6 or a PS4 for? Kazunori just needs to add some tracks from GT1,2 fix some of the physics (the ABS in this game is unrealistic) and add more cars.

GT6 has been in development before GT5 was released...

Google PS4 coming 2013.
Rumor has that sony intends to launch PS4 near holiday season 2013.
It's a rumor, but hoping ain't forbidden.

GT6 could be a poshed up version of GT5 (good shadows, more cars...).
Then GT6 Spec II the full new version.

Where there is smoke, there is fire. Late 2013 sounds a very realistic release date for PS4 (one year more for Sony to milk PS3).

So who wants GT6 in 2014 then 💡?...

If GT6 does happen to come out on the PS4 then I would like to see it come about a year or two into the console's lifespan. It allows PD to make a finished game. If they release it as a launch title, it wouldn't be so content heavy and will feel just like a PS3 game.

If GT6 comes out next year I want it on PS3. I only bought my PS3 to play Gran Turismo (I do play other games, but the reason for choosing the Ps3 was GT). If the next GT6 comes out on the PS4 I'm afraid I won't be able to afford a new console and game, and when GT5's servers are shut down or players move to the new game, GT5 won't keep me interested.

GT6 needs to wait till PS4. i dont care how long. I personally would be pissed if they kept GT6 on PS3. GT5 is good for me on the PS3. More DLC should be implimented for GT5 till GT6 comes out for PS4.

I Fully agree with this, UNLESS GT6 on PS3 would be out fairly soon (within a year from now) and be a HUGE improvement over GT5. Say it still has all the standard cars but they now all have at least decently modeled interiors, everything fully customisable, TONS more tracks and a real mod-nation-esque create-a-track........then YEAH!!!!! Bring on GT6 for PS3.

But if there's not going to be a huge leap, and it's not gonna be in store shelves until the last days of the PS3's lifespan, I'd very much rather stick with GT5 and PD just release more track DLC, and hold off on GT6 until PS4. In fact how perfect would it be to have a new Gran Turismo right around the launch window of a new PlayStation? That's win-win. Guaranteed hardware sales and plenty of time for a second, even more improved GT on PS4.

Strangest thing I've read here for a while. Why would you go so far as being annoyed by a new game on the console you already own? Also once again you're talking as if it would be the last in the series.

I just can't see what GT6 would have to offer on PS3. GT5 is realy pushing the PS3 to its limit.

Surely with that thinking only one game per console would have ever come out..
the graphics are ok, the physics are ok for a console game, alot can be done to make the gameplay better, Apec, more content, a better online mode.

Is it really or is that just what they'd like to have your believe?

Remember brothers, the truth is out there.

Speculating is always fun, so in the absence of a river bank & steel pan here's my 2 credits worth. Raggadish you make some valid arguments but I reckon SimonK and Toronado are on point.

Kaz is a perfectionist, so I would be surprised if he would willingly leave the PS3 on a low note; if GT6 addresses our fundamental concerns then GT5 would be forgotten and PD's legacy on PS3 would be rescued.

IMO prologues are a thing of the past now that his team have (sort of) embraced DLC, so PS4 should get a complete GT. But with the rumoured break away from Cell chips it also means a new software architecture no? So as his team are very familiar with the current hardware lets go already!

And yes the PS3 is aging - but as with San Andreas, I'll bet when GTAV comes out we'll all be oohing and aahing at how much Rockstar squeezed out of the system, and shouting at PD to do the same. As for end of lifespan releases - GT4 was late but sold very well, and some of us still play it.

Final point - money. Unless the economy improves radically I for one will not be queuing on release day for a new console.

GT5 doesn't push PS3 to its limits. It's enough to watch Skyrim in order to get a full idea of this fact. On GT5 only Premium Cars are done very well, but the envroinment isn't as good as cars. Trees are composed by two pieces stucked each other, like on PS1. PS3 can do much much better.
