GT6 "content" unlocked @ 5 million views.

Did anyone notice that there's no GT Academy road signs on the left run off grass area on the main straight ? or on any other run off areas of the circuit ?

Again, thanks to the secret menu, I have been able to have close pack racing with the AI with all except for one or two opponents. No matter what line up I choose, the game always seems to create a rabbit or two, but as for the other 13 AI opponents on track, they can become quite packed and aggressive.

I can try to set up a good close race where I'm having to push hard, enable the high quality mode and see if it looks on par with PD's promo videos, then upload the replay. I'm suspecting that it's possible.

I would love to see a video of that.

Running on a PC, of course.

Unlikely.

Gosh, that sounds amazing, why in the hell they wouldn't include that is beyond me. I would really love to see any footage you can upload! 👍

@GT6 Content: :lol:

Well, has the meltdown began yet?

Great, now waiting for the "severe letdown" posts...

As I said a few pages back, this was never going to be a big reveal. If this is a "severe letdown" to anyone it was your own fault for expecting it to be anything mildly interesting.

I expected atleast some screenshots of the new cars. :grumpy:

As I posted on the Youtube page:

"It probably was done in real time.

There is a secret menu in GT5 that has a "High Quality" mode that you can enable. I tried it before and the game did indeed seem to look better, much smoother, no jaggies or bad shadows etc, but it came at a big frame rate cost, it made the game feel a bit like driving through syrup.

I imagine most GT5 and GT6 promo videos were filmed using this feature and then had the frame rate replenished afterwards. Looked quite juddery here to me, could be due to this."

Anybody has footage of this? :scared:

I already have one replay saved with the high quality mode but I was driving a standard car (it did seem improved though). I'll get round to doing one later with a 350Z for a good comparison, and I'll try to match the time of day the best I can.

I'll also capture live gameplay from cockpit view with all HUD info turned off, and then compare that with the replay from the same view and see how different they seem. The high quality replay I have at the moment is about 3-4 times bigger than a normal replay file insize.

As the frame rate takes such a hit (rather than being choppy, the game actually plays in slow motion as you can tell by the timer, makes you feel like you have superhuman abilities :sly:), I'll also capture that and then try to restore it afterwards and compare them too.

So, since the video has been revealed, wouldn't this thread now be rendered pointless?

We could still discuss the unlocked content I guess.. however the running commentary on the view count certainly has been.. assuming it had a point to begin with.

Great! I'm very curious to see this. :-)

What's funny is that if everyone in the city of Dallas turned on their computers and watched this video NOW then it would be unlocked to the public. It shows how much of a minority we still are. ;)

First post!! :D

I guess we could do that. Um, so I've heard there was a GT6 wallpaper, what does it look like?

Ok, I'm waiting to see this 👍

5 milion views required for that? Sony and PD should just quit gaming and make money whit a youtube account.

Again, what did you expect? And I'm sure they would not last long in the YouTube world considering they make games for business, not videos. They could only base their videos off of games, which gets stale. If they changed their ways, who would actually watch?

Oh wait, they are doing it already. :)

I doubt that was intentional.

Right, if you guys want to have a look and try to find if there is a hidden wallpaper hiding anywhere on that page, do this (it is all client side so no harm can come from it ;)):
First off, grab CheatEngine, preferably the newest version which is 6.3 from here.

What CE can do, is modify any specified value, in real time for the program you select.

Now what you want to do is open the Greatness Awaits Explore page (don't play the video just yet)!

Now, if that is your only tab open in Chrome, IE or whatever this will be extremely simple.

Open CE and click the green flashing computer icon in the top left, and find the exe that is the browser you are using for the video (there may be a few, so you will have to do this next bit to all of them!) then click on it, then click open.

Now, there is a value box, just above scan type, type in the amount of views that the video currently has, which can be found at the top-left hand side of the flash player on the webpage.

Now click First Scan, just above the value box, if lots of matches (around 36) come up in the address box just to the left then it is the correct tab! If not, click the next exe with the same name in the processes menu (the computer box, top left)!

Now click the very top result and then hit Ctrl + A to select all. Then click the little red arrow box, next to the bottom of the address list.

Now what you want to do is select all of the results in the bottom box that they should have copied to. Now right click on the selected results and go: Change Record -> Value. Change this to any number above 5000000 (5 Million) and click ok.

Now go back to your tab and play/skip the video to around 1:03 and pause then click explore, it should be scene 5, and click the Blue C7 Corvette on the left and enjoy!

Don't put the value too high (for example, over 1 billion) or you will end up with the same counter but with negative numbers...

I noticed that the odometer below the speedo dials, as well as the interior clock both work. Nice details, and I guess this means Silverstone has time change and most likely weather too.

What i see, blur in animations and passing obstacles,Very high res soft shadows, smooth gameplay looks to be locked 60 fps, i see no dips, Vastly superior next gen lighting and effects, you sure this is being run on a PS3?

It looks like a moving bull shot.
