GT6 "content" unlocked @ 5 million views.

I have the feeling it is just the video and that the wallpaper could have been a typo(?) as the icon for it is essentially a video play button.

The video is on the PlayStation YouTube page. They should put the wallpaper on PSN, but that's too much like right.

Haha, they obviously expected that to be unlocked before the academy started. Even so, that's somehow duller than I expected.

Also as someone said on the video comments that video is surely pre-rendered, either that or PD have a real time version of Silverstone several times better than the demo, no aliasing, smooth as butter. The demo is anything but.

Sounds right. We were all quite excited with all the new gameplay videos. Sometimes things are not predicted or timed properly.

The "content" should have been a Kazunori Yamauchi bobblehead for display on the dashboard of your car.

That's hilarious  I really don't think Sony expected it to take this long to get to 5 million views.

What a shame, this might have been vaguely interesting if it came out a week before the demo.

What is interesting however is the quality gap between this and the demo - perhaps the demo is an older build than we first thought.

As I posted on the Youtube page:

"It probably was done in real time.

There is a secret menu in GT5 that has a "High Quality" mode that you can enable. I tried it before and the game did indeed seem to look better, much smoother, no jaggies or bad shadows etc, but it came at a big frame rate cost, it made the game feel a bit like driving through syrup.

I imagine most GT5 and GT6 promo videos were filmed using this feature and then had the frame rate replenished afterwards. Looked quite juddery here to me, could be due to this."

Or it's just witchcraft :sly:

Where is this secret menu? I'd like to try it myself. Thanks

Before GT5 was released PD released a few videos of GT5 races (I'm dying to find these videos again)

during those videos they had 16 cars closely packed fighting each other (which is odd because the A.I in GT5 is not like that at all) AND it was running very smoothly with no jaggies or FPS drops, these videos like any Trailer PD make are pre-rendered which I'll bet is the same here.

Also if anyone has the videos I'm talking about could you link them please.

It's real time I think and a different build/version for sure, look at the clock - at the start 12:01 and it changed to 12:02 around the middle of the video. Apparently time change at 1 to 1 ratio. The video was not taken from GTA build IMO.

Again, thanks to the secret menu, I have been able to have close pack racing with the AI with all except for one or two opponents. No matter what line up I choose, the game always seems to create a rabbit or two, but as for the other 13 AI opponents on track, they can become quite packed and aggressive.

I can try to set up a good close race where I'm having to push hard, enable the high quality mode and see if it looks on par with PD's promo videos, then upload the replay. I'm suspecting that it's possible.

Running on a PC, of course.
