GT6 "content" unlocked @ 5 million views.

The SRT Viper GTS 2013, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 2011, Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 2011, Honda HSV-010 (SUPER GT) 2011, Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 2013, and BMW Z4 GT 2011 are the pretty good cars, but a few are reused. The others have no use to me. I won't judge for now.

Seems that Sony is fortunately enhancing the video with an online ad campaign linking people to the video, which might explain the massive boosts we've been getting to the numbers.

Sony wants us to see the content, obviously. This all a big hype for the PS4 and Sony name. I just hope it delivers. For me, the content will be another one of those moments that will either make me smile or make me cringe. Since GT5, I've been mostly cringing, so I do expect it to be worthwhile. But if it's not, uh-oh.

GT6 has an up-hill battle to climb. This might be an opportunity to make it a more manageable ascent.

Could it be that we will get to 5mill before the demo goes live? :scared:

With the current trend it looks like the 5 million mark will be reached on the 7th of July. Possibly on the 6th, because the data for today is not quite up to date. Depending on when the view count is updated, it could also be delayed with about a day. So between the 6th and 8th of July should be a good estimate.

We don't need a running commentary on the view counts folks.

Well, it's rather good for backtracking the history of the view counts :)

I am curious if they really are gonna give out a bomb or just a silly cut scene from what we have already seen so far....

Imagine livery editor or a sneak peak of the new realistic sounds!!!

I'd give anything for both of them!

My money is on it somehow arriving at 5 million views at almost exactly the same time as the demo is released... those numbers look fishy.

Demo is tomorow isn't it. So 1.9 million hits in a day? Unless the video is on before the demo and counts toward it then end of week at most.

Well surely that curve should be the other way round, more like Justin Beiber's Baby than Gangnam Style:

Click the stats for that video... that's the second highest rating video when I search for ps4 and sort by number of views... 5,354,728 views... the highest has 6,082,398 views and stats disabled.

Go to youtube and click the vertical bars at the right underneath the video...

I don't think the UK will get it tomorrow.

Sorry, I was just replying to Samus on exclusives.

Not really sure what you mean or if you misunderstood my post but I was saying look at the other exclusive content that is available on this video, for other games. It's nothing exciting or 'new' for the respective games so I really don't expect the GT6 content to break that trend.

Wow, never thought the community would get so enthusiastic about it.

Also, I think the view count will start to slow down now. I just checked and the first page of comments were made in the last 3 hours. A few days ago, they were made within the last hour.

Honestly, anyone with this type of thinking is going to be severely disappointed. It's nice that the GT community is working to get this to 5 mil but I severely doubt the unlocked "content" will be anything worthwhile. It's not going to be a livery editor, some new mode in GT6, or anything like that.

Keep your hopes down and expect a GT6 wallpaper or something like that. And if by some miracle the extra content is something interesting, well, good thing you had low expectations. I'm going to facepalm to epic proportions when tons of people get vocal about their disappointment once the content is revealed and it's something extremely lame. Caution GT fans, do not expect anything else -- you're the ones creating your own unrealistic expectations.

What it should be and what it is are two different things :)

"Baby" is a music video where a certain fanbase regularly go to hear music that they like. Gangnam Style is also a music video, but more importantly it's a viral phenomenon that was shared at a very high rate. Once the Gangnam Style video saturated its target audience it leveled off in the same way as the Baby video. The curves are essentially the same, only on different scale.

When the PlayStation video saturates its target audience, it will do the same thing. The important question is when we might expect that to happen. There are 75 million PS3's sold (so far), and with the buzz around the new generation of consoles, the target audience is probably closer to 50 million than 5 million, so I don't expect the video to saturate its audience any time soon.

3.112.756 now

Doesn't seem to raise that fast anymore. But who knows...

The view count seems to update in chunks rather than a continuos flow. By tomorrow it has probably picked up again.

Just read the view count and its at 3,139,027. Might be picking back up again, that or youtube's counter is working again (for the moment)

if what they're looking for is a flock of pissed off GT enthusiasts waiting for them outside their office with rakes and torches, then that's the right thing to do :D

I already have my Hoe of Destruction within arm's reach.

But anyway I really do not think it will be a big reveal, maybe another track, car or some mildly interesting minor feature.
