GT6 copies will leave Japan on December 2nd!

Here is how this works (if not mentioned earlier)

The gold master(s) will leave around that time, that's the from japan part. Someone will drive the disk to the airport shipping facility, a warehouse right on the runway... Where it will be sent to all the shipping warehouses.

Waiting for the disk is all the preprinted "box and docks" waiting for freshly printed disks (still warm)... If we knew where the disks were being printed I could be more accurate.

Before the end of the following day, all stores on the east coast will get the game in their afternoon shipments, west coast the very next morning. All main warehousing is in the easy and the trucks will be waiting with the engines running...

It's very fast if Sony is paying for that kind of expedite and demand is high enough. If demand is lower its only an additional 24 hours... But it's ridiculously expensive, but breaking street dates so soon lead to penalties by retail so sometimes it's the lessor of 2 evils.

I've done this a few times with my game launches but it was over ten years ago... So it could be even faster now....

Those of you that order next day shipping with actually get it ahead of time as it ships straight from the distributer and isn't being hauled in bulk...

Once again Lawndart dropping mad knowledge on GTP, thanks again brah nice to have some insider info from someone who knows a little bit about this type of thing.

Im sure they will airfreight a few tons. If they do indeed depart on the 2nd December, most countries will get before 6th depending on how slow / fast their customs operate. It would porbably be on our stores by the 9th December. Time will tell

I double checked the time frames for the last GT5 delay. It was officially delayed by Kaz on October 16th, pushing from the 5th of Nov to the 25th. If we were to see a repeat of this for GT6 the delay would come this week. I think once we are sitting inside 2 weeks from release we are safe...
March was the first delay.

2nd december might be the date when they're ready for production, but european discs will be produced in Austria.

Just go and check your game cases or discs. If you don't live in Japan you most likely won't have a single "made in japan" disc, except if you imported them, of course.

I don't find it that big of a Delay like GT5. Although GT6 is still in Development. That's a great thing to hear :D. GO PD GO.

Concidering that GTA V was gold on 26th august and out on 17th september, they need 3 weeks between production/shipping/sales
GTA V was out for PS3 and XBOX, and people played it a week before its official release. Maybe they are just trying to avoid that people have their copy before than scheduled.

If i remember we get some leak before gt5 release, maybe you are right
I hope we don't suffer delays hahaha December 6th is the Constitution Day in Spain, so if we don't get it on Dec. 5th... Then we'll have to be waiting the whole weekend :S

In the news part of this site, it says that the disc would be stamped in or before 2 weeks from last friday.. so that is plenty of time isn't it?

Happy to share, I'm as excited as you guys to get my hands on GT 6. It's the leading reason I'm not buying a new console.

Publishers make about $35 (yep, retailers make very little, and they need to pay shipping and warehousing, a leading reason we let them sell used- though it's totally ripping off the publisher) dollars per unit, thousands of units per pallet, so as I said it was expensive, it's more than compensated for... It just cuts into the initial release margins.

"He also said that this is gonna happen for the first time in his career and GT6 will almost certainly not make it in time to everyone which is incredibly sad. Again. Just like GT5."

I understand the problem, but comparing GT5 (with all the delays it had) with GT6, it's really excessive.

You know... it automatically quotes somebody if you click the reply button on their post.

OK! Today, we had a visit from SONY in my store and the guy from SONY showed me this schedule where was stated that GT6 copies will leave Japan on December 2nd, which is really really late and tight. He also said that this is gonna happen for the first time in his career and GT6 will almost certainly not make it in time to everyone which is incredibly sad. Again. Just like GT5.

He also said (believe it or not) that GT6 is still in development and will leave PD studios just on November 20th.

This means we are about to be either victims of the fastest shipped game in the gaming industry or disappointed with a slight delay.

PD

Delay

:lol::nervous:

I would imagine that If it's "leaving Japan" on the 2nd of December. That just means the final disc image is released from the studio. It then gets sent digitally to all the factories over the world who encode the discs and put them into the already prepared boxes.
There's no way they'd be able to press hundreds of thousands of copies, package them, send them out to distributors and then ship them to retailers all within 3-4 days. Right?

Only shipping.
Pressing and packaging are done before this date

That's not what the post I quoted said.
He said it's going gold on the 2nd and then we will all have it on release day, a couple days later.

Which means that US will get it 2 months later :P That's how slow they work on regular mail.

Yes, it's quite easy and I explain it a few pages back.
