I'm disappointed there are no enduros in GT6. Guess I'll have to break out GT5 to fill that void, but it's a shame since GT6 has much better weather and atmospheric conditions. I'm still hoping PD will surprise us later.

Good post Cap'n Jack, you beat me to the punch.

A few other classics are still viable too.

And All-Night can take place on SSR5 (as it did in GT2) and Super Speedway 150 can take place on Motegi (as it did in GT4).

Other real world races that can be poached/recreated: the Brand Hatch 1000 km (either 60s racers or group C, the race was last held in 1988), 6 hours of Spa or 1000 km of Spa, 6 hours of Fuji or Fuji 1000 km, and the Nurburgring 1000 km (GT3 cars on the GP circuit).

If endurance races are added to GT6, it would finally let me know if the R18 is an actual viable LMP or if it suffers the same fate as the R10 in GT5.

I personally would love to see an endurance race for every track :D. But just for the main layout of every track of course.

1. 1000 MILES!
Track: Nurburgring nordschleife
Laps: 79
Prize: 850,000 + Alfa Romeo B.A.T 1
Car restrictions: Cars before 1969, max PP of 550

This was a championship event in GT4:

Nurburgring: 25 laps
Opera Paris: 99 laps
Cote d'Azur: 99 laps
Circuit de la Sarthe: 35 laps

I don't recall the prizes, but it was only for cars built in 1969 or earlier...

I don't care about location, weather or time...

Important is:
Damage, if you hit something the suspension should break and you have to drive in the box to fix it.
Fuel and tire use of course
Random mechanical failure like bursting tire, stuck gearbox, engine power loss requiring to drive in the box and let it fix.
(Must happen to AI too)
AI must make mistakes from time to time.
On races longer than 4h you can hand over to AI/B-spec.
Equal opponent selection ! (All within 5% lap time) Not the usual Veyron->Fiat500 spread
The AI should not slow down after 23h and let you win the 24h of Le Mans (like in career)

If they do that it will be great, otherwise it will be as pointless as in GT5, you wait until every one has done one stint and use a calculator to find out who will win because everything is 100% linear and predictable.

many tracks in the game hosts 6h races in real life : silverstone, fuji, spa-francorchamps, monza, nurburgring.24h : le mans, daytona, spa-francorchamps, nurburgring.
12h : bathurst

there used to be a 24hr race at Bathurst the 12hr is 1 of our most grueling races in Australia itll be a great and very challenging race to do on GT6

Best idea for them has already been used... scrap'em

Well said! Sod endurance races. I don't want to drive for 9 hours or 24 hours (potentially on my own out front) with no competition to speak of. If the competition were better, fair enough. Also, even though there was a feature that allowed you to save your progress in GT5, when you loaded the game again, you couldn't do anything else within GT5. You HAD to finish the endurance event first, whether you liked it or not.

All of them sound great - would give the Nurb 24hr the same payout as Le Mans 24hr due to it being tougher to negotiate the Nurb. (I appreciate Le Mans 24hr is a more prestigious event but you get where I'm coming from right?)

I too am waiting for the day where a friend who drives the R10 and I can compare. We both average 3:24's around LeMans (R 10) so we will see if there is any real upgrade to them...

I just want to get a 3:17 to beat the Peugeot 908 from whatever qualifying lap they set..

Might be a bit of self promotion, but all you guys should check the interest check thread, for me and another user are planning some endurance serie... A warm up for waiting while PD patyches the usual endurances back in the game
