GT6 FAQs

Hi, I thought I would just let you know that FR is the same as RWD the F stands for the engine position ie:- front and the R stands for the drive ie:- rear. I hope I have not come across as patronising I just thought I would explain that for you.

Ah damn. Thanks man. I'm not a car guy as you can tell lol.

What is the best workaround for the camber issue? I've tuned my cars to 0.0/0.0 which is the best current setting, by what I have read. Anything else? When is PD going to fix this... arrrgh!!!

During races how do you take realistic photos? Mine are always blurry. Also, how do you get them on your computer?
Sorry about the "RWD" confusion, Night; I was a mechanic before I was a GT'er and rear wheel drive was what came to mind first. Glad someone corrected that before you had to wait on me to clarify that:tup:.

You already know to take your photos from the saved replay, so when you get set to take your photo, below the viewfinder window, see the little number that says 250? Maneuver to that number and set it higher (D-pad, I think). That's like the film speed in real life. It'll go as high as 4k or 8k and result in a really clear subject when you view the final product. The best advice is to play around with every feature, as some really cool effects can be had. The triangle button is your friend in PhotoMode.

Someone else here may know other ways, but to get the photo to your computer: after taking your photos, exit out of the racing menus and go to Gallery on the far left of the home screen. Not the one that shows up in Garage, when you can see your current car. Go down to the photo file and you can find an option that says "export to XMB" or something close to that. Do what it says for the photos you want to display. When you exit the game you can go to the photo column on the main XMB menu and upload the photos to a facebook account, or save them to a USB stick. I find it easier to use the photos later to use the stick, which you can then download to your computer in whatever file you wish. Good luck!

NOTE: I actually typed all this up last night and somehow didn't hit "post":dunce:. Sorry!

Actually, it's the opposite. During a race, it's best to have the panning on mode 2 or 3. The number that says 250 should be set to 60. Set the magnification to x2 so the photo is double the resolution.

Did I seriously get that backwards? I was thinking it started blurry and got sharper as I moved it up. Well, thank you, GT916, and sorry Night. But do play with all those features to get a ton of neat effects!

Got my preordered copy of gt6 (standard edition); can't even load it or install it. I talked to customer service, they
said to exchange it at the Best Buy store (where I preordered). Checked online, it said they had 75 copies in stock.
Went to the store, explained the situation; the salesperson checked and said they had no copies in the store.
"They're probably in the truck on the way." Now I was flipping; I've got ataxi outside waiting and I'm told they don't
have it in the store. This is misleading advertising to me. When gt5 was out I bought it in-store; it works like a charm
in fact I'm playing it right now. I will NEVER preorder anything online again! Anyone else had similar problems? :(
My friend got GT6 for Christmas, but it won't update properly. He is having the same problem as you are.

I'm trying to use the multi monitor setting on gt6, but it won't let me search for IP address or enter manually .

I've been using muti monitor on gt5 for ages now , never had a problem .

Any ideas? Anyone else struggle?

The Logitech g27 has a third pedal for a clutch. Does that mean there is a clutch feature in the game?

The only thing i like about forza is the clutch button on the controller and i know the ds3 does not have a clutch in gt5.

Is the driving line aid forbidden in most online racing series?

It depends, really. But I would say that yes for most it is forbidden. As for specific lobbies you can check before joining the lobby which are aids are allowed and which are not.

From the user manual....

Gear Stick and Clutch Controls
If you are using a steering wheel controller that has a gear stick (such as the TH8 RS shifter for the T500 RS controller) and a clutch pedal, please be sure to select Manual (MT) transmission from Driving Options. When you start racing, paddle shift will be selected, but you can change the mode by performing the following actions:

  • Using the gear stick -> The gear stick will automatically become operational.
  • Stepping on the clutch pedal -> The gear stick and clutch will automatically become operational.
Using paddle shift controls in either of these modes will automatically switch back to paddle shift mode.

There are certain cars, such as those with torque converters, CVT, dual clutches etc. for which a clutch pedal cannot be used even if manual transmission is available.

How many racing gear there is? i have only found four or five.

From the GT6 web site....

Racing gear for your in-game driver avatar can be purchased using in-game credits. At launch there are 34 types of helmets (with 952 colour variations) and 28 types of racing suits (with 852 colour variations) as well as special racing gear sets modelled on racing gear of famous real life drivers.

Anyone know at which events exactly do you get a new helmets as a reward?

I don't play career mode a lot, I mostly play online so I don't have many helmets on my items list. I noticed you rarely get them as reward so if anyone knows exactly at which events to get them I would much appreciate it.

You don't get them at all as rewards. You can buy them in GT Auto.

Not sure if this really belongs here but is there something wrong with my ears or are the tires squealing even when driving straight? O_o Noticed it with my HSV-10.

Yup, if you are under hard acceleration and the car has enough grunt, like the HSV, to overcome the grip and spin up the drive wheels then you'll hear them squeal

What Argon said, plus hopefully you know to set camber at 0/0 and see if that helps (especially with under-class tires).

Sorry if it has already been answered but i don't find the list of each cars category
when in an online room filtered by category it shows the six or five first eligible cars name and then say
there is "X cars more"
yeah ok but which ones ?
where can i find the full listing of each category ?

looks that nobody know
so weird that you can filter a room by category but don't know which cars can go in except the five first of the list
