Ok FGTC official announcement -

McLaren have confirmed they have retained the services of their constructors champion winning team........B.Thomas and J.Dixon will lead their charge for the 4th season title.

Force India have also revealed that S.Page and E.Nutt will be driving for their team and believe this is the strongest line up FI has ever fielded.

F.Doyle is confirmed at Ferrari after promising the Italian car giant he will stop being a turnip just before the race begins. Rookie A.Bevans will also start at Ferrari looking to Doyle to pass on some of his racing pedigree.

Watch this space for more team announcements over the next few days.

PS I still want peoples views on three man teams!

I really like the idea if 3 man teams. Being new I think it's helpful to have the help and input of not just one but two who can give tips and advice. :)
 
Opinions noted troops. What does everyone think to the 2nd sunday in Jan for our first official race and every sunday until then for a club meet (mixed racing)?

Mixed racing is a mixture of different types of races we do, come and join us and you'll soon learn the ropes. Be careful as some of the lads can get silly around ladies!

It's ok, I still need a team. I'd also prefer minimal or no aids, this new car is pretty nice to drive like the F2007 was in GT5 (maybe a touch harder than F2007 with no ABS), just need a little bit of throttle control out of slower turns and your set to be competitive. Tire wear is pretty good, on softs you can run for about 12 laps on Suzuka before any big wear, I think we could see 1 stop races instead of 2-4 stops like in the past.
 
I told Ben he wasn't allowed. He understood because I just said he is a completely different level to us and it is not fair. I am one for having the aids on, makes it easier for the less experienced. if you do not want them on, do that on your own decision, but I personally am all for it. I am going to do some testing tomorrow, care to join me if you can @berty1979 , @Pagey279 and @ENTERSANDMAN13 ?
EDIT: Could I suggest pushing the event back another week to the 9th of January. from personal experience it takes a while to get an FGT, meaning Christmas people have time
 
Ahh man I like having Ben in the series though! As long as TC is allowed up to 1, I'm happy :)

Yeah putting the series back one week would be good as otherwise I'll have to sweat buckets to get the 2million in time!

I get what you mean but he is one of the best GT players in the world, officially. He really should be racing with people at his almighty level to keep the competition fun. Because at the moment I do not know who would clearly win. My personal bets would be on Sandman or Pagey at this current moment, with a strong battle between Mecerdes and force India for constructors. Should be a good season!

I would test tomorrow but I haven't got an FGT yet. I'm still 1 million short.

Plus on the driver aids topic, I would rather leave them on.
 
In gt5 it was managable, in gt6 I dont like it. I tested the fgt and it felt really great with tcs 1, abs 1 and the rest off but with srf It felt like mario kart, really unsatisfying to drive.

Yeah the FGT is much more gentle now, SRF & active steering would be a deal breaker for me, I just couldn't be in it with that turned on with this new car. To me its the same as having a GT3 series with SRF turned on because some of the GT3 cars like the Mercedes are harder with all aids turned off than the FGT. In GT5 we saw it get steadily easier to drive with updates, so it was a gradual process but I'd say the final GT5 version of the car is harder to tame by a long shot than the GT6 1.01 car.
 
Nice to see the comments flooding in people.

All- I am completely open minded about the driving aids right now. Speaking from a series founder point of view, I have always had everyone's enjoyment in mind. Meaning I cannot make the car so hard to drive that the noob's can't cope or the controller user's struggle. That said its important this doesn't feel like Mario Kart so I am VERY interested in ditching SRF. Thanks for all your comments, they help to shape this series.

Quade- You would be very welcome. When you are sure you want to join and commit, I will assign you a team. Feel free to post any questions you may have.

Pagey- I dont have an FGT yet either but I am getting closer :D Thanks for your prediction, you flatter me sir!

Rich- Ill let you know about AS as soon as I know

Ellis- Yep, I dont really want people who can dedicate more than 10 hours a week lapping the next circuit on the calendar. I cant compete with that.

Etid- Will Evochick be safe with you, are you really as professional as you seem?????? :P
