GT6 Master Car List [NOT A WISHLIST]

Ok, maybe I'm stupid but what is the difference between an '07 M3 Coupe and a '10 M3? I looked on Wiki and couldn't find any difference and since according to the official website it is the E92 (coupe) and not the E90 (saloon) I was just wondering what the difference is....??

The '10 M3 is a race car, and the '07 isn't.

Edit: It should be this one in particular.

The '10 M3 has BMW Motorsport in brackets, could be the GT4 class car.

Yeah but if the '10 M3 is a race car, then what's the difference between the M3 GT '11, the M3 GT2 '09 and the above??

It's possible but BMW Motorsport could also refer to the 'M' powered BMW road-going cars.

There's 3 new M3s:

18 BMW E92 M3 (BMW Motorsport) ’10 - this is possibly the GT4 class race car.
19 BMW M3 GT (BMW Motorsport) ’11 - This is the one pictured above.
20 BMW M3 GT2 Base Model ’11 - This is the same as #19, but a base model (no livery etc).

Thanks, now it makes sense. Still not sure why they'd bother doing a base model and also one with livery. Seems redundant to me- just to increase the size of the car list. It's more than adequate without them doing that.

Just wondering what fellow GT fans think of the official car list?

For the most part, I give a thumbs up to it 👍

I'm particularly excited about cars like the Abarth 500 (not the SS version), Grande Punto Abarth, Lamborghini Diablo GT and the Renault R8 Gordini.

Pleased to see they've struck a nice balance between European, Asian and North American cars. They haven't gone wild with giving too many Japanese cars.

Most likely guess for the '10 model is the Nürburgring-24 hour race winner from 2010 (modified GT2), as PD has already added the 2011 and 2012 winners. (Z4 GT3 and Phoenix Audi R8)

That'd be a little vague, not inline with previous M cars, and also not accurate since BMW Motorsport =/= M GmbH

GT4 is an intersting idea, although it really wouldn't be much different to the standard M3, and since BMW Motorsport refer to it as the M3 GT4... why wouldn't PD?

I've got no better suggestions though.

The fact they included the E92 tag in the name makes me somehow believe it isn't a full on race car. Although, Snow, your guess is very logical.

I agree with you, Adam. Why specify the E92 moniker if it were a race car? They don't normally do that.

My mistake. That is the 2011 car I posted.

The 2010 has #25 on it instead of #1. Either way, both are from the N24 race of their respective years.

Have to correct myself. In 2011, a Manthey Porsche won. The 2011 M3 with the number 1 seems to be the car run by Schnitzer again that year though. The BMW Z4 GT3 that is listed as an '11 does look like the one BMW Schubert ran in 2012 at the Ring, but the number 1 was never used.

So what's happened to the Acura NSX Concept? I thought that was confirmed? Also, what about these Pebble Beach and SEMA winners like the DBS3, Pininfarina Mondial etc? They are in orange on the confirmed GTPlanet car list but they don't show up in the official Gran Turismo website car list?

Acura may not want it in the game (yet)
Db3s was only 6 months ago. They DEFINITELY haven't had the time to model it. It will be DLC or GT7

This isn't the first time PD has put in different years of similar race cars. One only needs to look at the Super GT cars included in the game to see a perfect example of different versions of the same car, so why are we surprised about this?

It should be noted that these BMW's have enough cosmetic differences to warrant their separation. And I'm certainly not complaining that we're getting two BMW M3 GT cars, (if these are, in fact, the two cars we'll be getting).

The 2010 M3:

The 2011 M3:

Although, as I pointed out earlier in the thread, the BMW Art Car raced at Le Mans in 2010, and that could also warrant a separation due to the significance of the livery it was wearing.

Although the Nurburgring theory does make sense. 👍

Because they aren't in the game yet.

Which is the problem with putting cars on the list that aren't yet in the game.

What does the Audi R18 TDI Prototype look like, in comparison to the Team Joest version?
The biggest thing is the non painted all black carbon look. Then the sloping fin from the airbox to the rear wing mount. Imo the prototype looks better than any R18 just because the sloped fin.

How nice does the 2014 Corvette Stingray look?! I know it wont be the best car to drive, but it does look amazing!

It's actually pretty awesome to drive. I had a ton of fun driving it around the Top Gear Test Track last time I drove it. Very fun car.
