How is that the same?

nobody releases 'Work In Progress' games on purpose
That's what ED (Eagle Dynamics) does. You buy the Betas when they are WIP and play them in an incomplete state which means bugs, missing visuals, and features that may not work at all. You can go to their forums right now and find the WIP list for the latest release, DCS Mustang.

It's not quite the same as Prologue, which was nothing but money gouging, but the games are released before complete.

They could, and are allegedly going to release another GT5 DLC to help finance GT6. Please no prologue,GT5 was hopefully "GT6 Prologue" in a way.

I think GT5 Prologue spoiled the final version for me. GT5:P was fresh and with the hd-graphics a new experience. When GT5 arrived, we were already used to the graphics and physics. Without GT5:P the game would have had a way better acceptance in the community. If a Prologue comes, we may have to wait even longer for the final version to get released.

GT6 Prologue
Not this 🤬 again.... When GT5 Prologue came out I was dissapointed... Hope they just take out GT6 directly... The Prologues are PD saying "Here... have too much money? Let us take it while we make you wait :D" :grumpy:

Lol really? So you want them to take your money for a stupied demo of GT6 huh?... No common sense in that but whatever... it's your cash :D

I was responding to the OP's question.

No. I don't want a GT6 Prologue, and if there were, I wouldn't buy it.

Oh my bad man :D
Next time you're going to answer a question use the QUOTE buton ... It's at to bottom right of a post :odd:

Kaz said in an interview quite some time ago that there wouldn't be a GT6 prologue.
GTP Interviews Kaz
GTP: In the future do you see Polyphony Digital dedicating resources to major Gran Turismo titles or to creating more spin-off games, such as Tourist Trophy and Prologue?

KY: The only thing I can definitely say is the next one will be GT6, but we might have something else pop-up in between now and then [laughs]!

EDIT: I'll admit that the end of story statement goes a bit far, but I wrote that before I actually re-found the quote.
I honestly cant foresee a situation where they'd bother releasing a prologue when they already have access to GT5 as a test bed. I am certain they won't want another controversial launch, but I think that putting out a prologue would be the final straw for quite a large number of fans.

I'm willing to bet there won't be one, but with the history of these guys, who's to say...

It'll be one no matter what we say. Question is if the paid demo will be on ps4 or ps3 (whether full release on ps3 or ps4)

No, absolutely not.

This. Glorified demos that you have to pay for, and then aren't even close to representing what the game becomes, is a stupid idea.

Making a glorified demo takes a lot of time that could instead be focused on finishing the actual game.

It takes away time even though it's pretty much just slapping together what material you've made so far? How does it waste time?

Oddly the demo felt quite professional. It's the end game that was slapped together. Lol.

Of course it takes time away, it's not as simple as "slapping together what you have" when it comes to software development. You have to test it, remove bugs and built a complete infrastructure around the content. Not to mention they took time away from main development updating and patching it several times.

GT5 Prologue was just part of GT5's development in the sense that it constantly implemented features as they were added to GT5 proper, so anything that GT5:P did was ultimately implemented into GT5 (more or less).

That doesn't mean that the QA work and support that wouldn't have been there had the game stayed an internal development build rather than a retail product didn't take away from the development of GT5 proper, though.

Well yeah, but those tings (other then patching and updating) are already done through regular production. That was included into what I was talking about. I did put it quite bluntly.

Hmmm... I guess so. Really should make sure I'm fully awake before saying silly things.

I don't follow? GT5 Prologue is nothing like the final game in structure so of course it took time away from making the real thing. How is testing and bug fixing on a final software product the same as internally building a product?

Let me start with this bit first. Now you see, they could have been working on to look and feel like it does in Prologue but switched things around when they were done and practically changed everything in the following years. Quite a far-fetched idea but I'm tired so don't listen to me! :P

How is testing and bug fixing on a final software product the same as internally building a product?

Would testing and fixing not count as production time before release?

I'd rather them not make a GT6P, but if they made it I'd probably buy it, just because it would be something new to play. :D

No, just no. It just further delays the full game even more. :grumpy:

But if PD has the (more) man power, then why not!?

I dont agree on "Prologue=Demo" , for example GT5: Prologue had about 70 cars & 6 tracks !!
But i dont want a prologue for GT6. it only takes time from PD.
