"
The 7-post mode is reserved for the so-called track replay mode. First of all, data has to be collected at the race track which is then evaluated at the test stand. The data record can only be used for identical car constructions."
The "track replay mode" is the replay mode whereby the GPS and CAN BUS log from your car is downloaded into GT6 and then available as a virtual replay in the game.
The ability to download this data is limited to versions of the Toyota GT86/Scion FRS:
https://www.gtplanet.net/gps/
"Although it’s limited to special editions of the FR-S for now, and there are still a fair amount of bugs to be worked out and refinements to be made, Polyphony Digital has a chance to fundamentally change the way drivers analyze and evaluate their performance."
Your missing the point, again. I know what the GPS-mode is (Data
visualization & a Course-maker), and I know
it has no clear-cut relation to KW's 7-post rig, from what little info on it has been released thus far.
Lets consider something, Michael Grassi, the Head of Motorsport Sales and Technical Support at KW Automotive GmbH refers to this as "
the so-called track replay mode", by 'track-replay' does he mean the
"GPS Data Visualizer" or the usual GranTurismo replay-mode ?.
Honestly, there's no telling at the moment, but I'm thinking its not the GPS-visualizer because he mentions
"The data record can only be used for identical car constructions." - by that,
'identical car constructions', I'm thinking he means you can only use data recorded from say, a RM Corvette, with a OEM Corvette, or vise-versa, and that you wont be able to use GT-R data on a Lotus car basically.
Plus, it's a
visualizer, simply used to recreate your image on screen, and is not a tuning-apparatus which is what the rig is in itself and is being promoted as in the first article, a.k.a "
this level of authenticity will allow players to continually test, tweak, and re-test the cars suspension systems"
I still don't believe they (PD) would announce such an interesting feature as the KW 7-post rig, and only limit it to such a limited group of players, a.k.a those who've bought a GT86, but it also wouldn't be the first time PD have disappointed me.
Also; side note - I still see nothing confirming the rig's use,
itself, is exclusive to or even related to, GT86's in either of those articles
