And that is no excuse for a poor offline racing experience.

Most players want to be able to start the game at any time and have a guarantee that they are immediately able to engage in challenging, rewarding racing. Not only being able to do so through planning via an internet forum, and then having to wait for a scheduled time.

Ding ding! 👍

So many people (rightly) criticize the FPS genre for its over-reliance on the online aspect, leaving offline players with a skimped-out campaign that can be completed in roughly the time of a long movie. GT should be no different; give players some engaging offline experiences, because not everybody wants or has the time to deal with online leagues. The people that do are a tiny minority - even a minority on GTP, which is already a small percentage of GT players.

No, it's the same V12 sound sample currently used in GT5 for the V12 Vantage, the 599 and the W12 concept. It's one of the few decent sound samples in GT5 but it's obviously wrong to use it on the SLS GT3.

The thing is the sound on all videos from IgroMIR are actually decent! (on Rage Racer's youtube channel)

And can you provide link to that V12 sound that you think are closest to this SLS GT3? I really want to compare.

Agree completely. The vast majority of my console racing is done on the spur of the moment, just to pick it up and have a race for half an hour or an hour.

Leagues offer very good racing, but they can't offer the pick-up-and-play aspect of a good single player mode.

There are games out there essentially without a single player mode, and that's fine too. But I think if a game goes to the trouble of including a single player mode, you might as well make it a good one.

Agree!!. I remember the Geoff Crammond "Grand Prix" games from the 90's. It was perfect for single and multiplayer. With the "hot seat" feature, you could do a multiplayer session in 1 pc.
I remember playing 2 vs 2 with 2 pc's linked trough the serial port. It was amazing to find the correct tunning over the qualy, then in race to make a crash free start, and so on.
In the GT series we are light years of that. The game has the potential, but time will tell...

The issue with the sound is that the SLS GT3 has a cross-plane V8 in real life. GT5's choice of sound is wrong because it sounds like the wrong engine type.

This is becoming an not so epic whining and crying thread.

And the reply would be (With a butler's voice over) ... "we can intelligently criticize this game on this forum whenever we want ... blah blah blah".

I could not help it, i was expecting screenshots and videos.

It's a discussion forum. People are going to discuss the screenshots and videos.

I was imagining this guy was stating your response.

Please take no offense from this, I'm just in a funny/fun mood.

Exactly, it amazes me how people try to spin a large portion of the game that many buy it for being poor, as not a big deal.. More people play Gt games offline then on, only a portion play online. Other games do it, Gt for some reason is reallystruggling.

I do wish we could have a thread simply for posting screenshots and videos and keeping all discussions on a separate thread. It's so annoying to have to look through pages and pages of gibberish when all I'm interested in are the screenshots and videos as per the name of the topic! Same goes for the news thread...

Agreed. Why you think in the other thread I attempted to get it back on topic with that link I found?

If my memory serves me correct from the Spa 24 hours fly by videos, they have nailed the SLS GT3 dubbed sounds in the Bathurst Trailer

No disrespect intended however, Personally I haven't picked apart every single cars sound as I simple don't have the time nor do I care to do so. That being said PepeMickey I am going to have to take your word for it simple because I choose not to confirm it for myself. If this is the case and that just happens to be the sample used for the aforementioned GT5 cars and this particular GT6, then, in my opinion it is one of the better and it should be used more often. Thank you for the heads up... :)

Not if it's there in real life.
I think in real life you're a bit lower down in the car.

It's there in real life and it looks plenty annoying. I've found on board videos they are always to the side of the driver, but you can interpolate the mirror position and it looks like PD has it right. Early videos and early testing had the car with no mirrors and I think that would be a great option but we're unlikely to see that.

That's what I meant, if it's there leave it.

In the beginning of this video you can see it is virtualy in front of the driver.
At the end it's not though :sly:

We definitely won't be getting Porsche now :P

But you can also see in early videos (early being 2012...lol) that they were testing without mirrors. Would it be so difficult for PD to include a second version without the mirrors? Remember it's a videogame and we don't have the peripheral vision that you would in real life and we also don't need the mirrors in game, we have the track map and look back buttons if we need them.

The original design was for them to use reverse facing cameras instead of mirrors.
