An interview on what's new in Gran Turismo 6

GamesBeat's Dean Takahashi interviews Taku Imasaki, North American producer of Gran Turismo, about what is coming next in the 15-year-old game series.

BMW Gran Lusso Coupe looks alot like Eiger
Nordwand,maybe a new BMW for Gran Turismo 6 ?

Not fake, but definitely not GT6. Not even close to looking like Eiger.

Wait a minute. Drive Club is made by the same studio that created Motorstorm?

Thats what Ive heard... something along the lines of theyve wanted to make this sort of game for nearly a decade... Also a reason why everyone keeps on hounding them to answer the is is Arcade or Sim?

From what I've heard anyway it seems like its 99% online multiplayer and a small splattering of single player... looks nice though

In reply to a previous comment on the first or second page, about PS3 cars being good enough for PS4 (GT7?) I watched the video with 100 GT6 photos and was blown away and in awe at how beautiful theyve modeled the cars... Then after it was finished youtube recommended another video 'Driveclub Screenshots' and the difference left me flabbergasted... I mean of course PS4 graphics are going to be better, but it was by how much, the subtle way lighting effects and reflections made the Driveclub cars pop and had my brain trying to find flaws.

But we've seen nothing of gameplay, its only video we've seen which PS3 would run.

Normally PDs second game on each console looks just as good as any other devs racing game on the first gen games of nextgen consoles.

I don't know why anyone is getting excited about Drive club anyway?
Its just gonna be an arcade game, do you really think they would go head to head with GT in the simulation game.
It would make no sense as it would just be taking the same customer base and you don't make a rival for your own games.

look the right side, red and yellow? is how a new effect about the differential spin the wheels.

From: http://www.inside-games.jp/article/2013/05/26/66836.html
Nah, it simply shows how the tyres overheat/get damaged. Instead from white to red as in GT5, it's now white - yellow - red. Happens under all circumstances, no matter if you're accelerating, braking, or whatever.

Was visible in some gameplay videos.

There's also a Jaguar XJ220 at the Silverstone event, it was shown on the announcement video :D Might be a premium too as well as the AE86 :D

The mountains in the background look snowy, so I would say that's more likely to be Eiger. Also, the direction of the sunlight seems to fit with Eiger too, I think on Grand Valley the sun and thus shadows are facing the other way (from vague memeory though so could be wrong). There's also the chance that Grand Valley is now a time change circuit but I still think it looks like Eiger.

If that's DriveClub you're talking about, the devs have confirmed that the PS4 Event vid is of actual gameplay.

As for going head to head, DriveClub will be a different kind of driving game, looks more street racing orientated, or closer to TDU2 - so I don't think they'll be going into direct competition.

Even better then (I guess).

For sure we'll be getting Seattle and Apricot Hill. El Capitan is really probable. SSR11 is certain and that's not a new location/new to the series or a real world track.

We'll just have to wait and see. :\
Don't forget that these tracks, being not new will likely appear as a part of the ongoing DLC.

Also the interview which Dimebolt posted up and everyone seems to have ignored (nice link by the way) it seems to imply that these will be seen as updates, he actually calls them that rather than DLC. If they end up being free - that should stop a lot of the carping going on (well, probably not as some are never satisfied)

I've been hoping to see a juke-R in the game ever since I layed eyes on it.

Now that'd just be the best kind of troll-mobile

"PAHAHAHAHA look at his Juke"

"Yeah yeah"

"How the beezlebub did it win...?"

But I'd still be fine with the Nismo.

I know people are complaining a lot about sounds, but I have to say (maybe this is just me) but when I have my tv speakers turned up, coupled with the surround sound bar and the sub woofer, I actually think the cars sound fairly realistic. You here the whines, the growls etc.

Yeah, I never understood why people are complaining about sounds. Cars sound great on my surround setup.

He made an interesting comment on how players don't have to go back a couple of screens to change cars when they are on the track ... and how to get to online multiplayer events, event search ? ...
