Well ain't this Déjà vu.:sly:
Let me elaborate on that, when GT5 was been shown at the TGS(?) someone rolled a Fiat 500 just by trying to make the turn normally. Same track as well, so to see it again with the BRZ is quite hilarious.

Which was realistic because it was a Fiat 500. But a BRZ... No, it shouldn't roll over like that. :grumpy:

Watching videos of Willow, and seeing a map of the main course made me look at the course with negative feelings. There is very little elevation change, it is more high speed than High Speed Ring itself, and I pictured myself falling asleep to the races on this track, but the way that you just described it, being technical in its own way, I cant wait to do a few laps in a GT2/GT3 to try it out!

Oh yes, willow has many nuances, and you need to pay attention in every turn.
Turn 1 is a very fast 90 degree with a slight decline after good banking, if you're 2 hot you'll get thrown into the infield.

Turn 2 is a loooong constant radius 2-3 apex turn, if its still two layers of pavement you can use the seam for a bit more angle, the exit takes forever to come but is critical.

Turn 3 hard breaking, nicely banked before the off camber turn 4 (bikes throw sparks from leaning so hard)

Turn 4 is blind, trust running a bit wide, especially easy as 3 is off camber so understear is exaggerated 2x (even on a bike) once at the exit hammer it

Turn 5 my mistress... Lots of banking but still constant radius fast corner, but don't get over confident because its critical to set up for 6. I wrecked hard in this corner on a race bike low siding. Face planted and a set of Kevlar gloves exploded at the seams I hit so hard...

Turn 6 has a raise in the middle (at the apex) where everything lightens up and you drift across the track, speed only exaggerates this more, you need to get your turning done early, or make sure you really know how to carry your speed as you're instantly put to the outside of the turn and if you get spooked and lift your rear end will come around on you.

Turn 7 is simply a bend like Laguna seca's turn one (it's not really a turn).

You'll be full speed going into 8 and that closes into 9 with a constant trail breaking (imagine a motorcycle leaning and breaking for so long, its easy for things to go wrong) but the exit is critical as you need to carry as much speed as possible into the very long straight away... No time to catch your breath, 8-9-straight is where races are won and lost.

I have so many stories about this track, and I've watched several friends get carried off the track never to be seen again, not even mentioning those I never knew. Willow has got a reputation and must be respected as the track is one of the fastest and least forgiving in the US.

My exp with willow is all racing, no track days so my dial was always between 8-10 tenths. And was in the late 90s and from the videos I've seen turn 6 does look a bit flatter but I've yet to see a video of a really fast car on the racing line. So they may have "changed" it... And that would be a shame.

Enjoy :)

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

This looks cool what is it exactly?

TRD Toyota 86

To correct this, the car above is the Toyota GT86 RC (like the early '90s ST185 Celica RC). It is built as a base for a racing series. It has limited parts, no AC, no LSD, roll cage, less interior panels and steel wheels. It is also much cheaper than a standard GT86. http://the86.co.nz/86RC/

The TRD GT86 is the most expensive GT86 with heaps of TRD parts added to it. http://the86.co.nz/trd/

To correct myself, it's possibly the TR86 and not the RC. The RC has black bumpers. http://the86.co.nz/TR86/

But that's the thing, I couldn't recreate that rollover in GT5 with the 500. Same tyres and speed as the video I saw.

The drawdistance is amazing!!! I love to see Apricot Hill again (my old gt2/3/4 love). While exiting the first corner you can see the whole track ahead of you. I'm in love. Can't wait to drive!

Too bad all the video's so far are in a Fitz....
The distances are amazing in gameplay, but not replays unfortunately. Should be the other way around since we pretty much only look at the apex while racing.
Maybe you guys should buy him a wheel so he tests it out XP
Yeah >_>

How? People with early copies have confirmed that there's no prize cars for just Sunday Cup, but for Novice as a whole.

So, N, B, A, Ib, Ia, S = 6 prize cars no?
Where did they do that?
That's what I get for going to sleep.
6 cars....whathephu....?

Until someone completes the game no one, not even those with the game, know how many prize cars there are.

Silly speculation is silly.

Now we know what Kaz was working on for the last 30 days rather than turn up at that show (forgot which one it was), He got the memo from sony so had to cut back the gifts so we can buy real credits. (Not a fact but a resumption (probaly a fact) )

Sounds improved. Not perfect, not brilliant, but you can see (hear) that they've invested some time on this matter.

Nice, thanks, PD.

I was going to say the opposite, but I need to find a real sound clip to compare.

The grumble from the Ford GT as he passed was nice.

That's not right. The TRD 86 Racing (which is pictured in the dealership, though named a Toyota) is this, which is a normal 86 that has racing parts switched in (for safety/durability as well as performance) and is built specifically for this amateur racing series: the 86/BRZ Race in Japan.

The car is basically the Japanese counterpart to the TMG GT86 CS-V3 that is made in Cologne for VLN/1-make GT86 racing in Europe.
