The details captured are just mindblowing for a PS3 game.

The cars? If yeah... well they are supposedly at least or more detailed than next gen's DriveClub's which I read is supposed to be around 200k to 250k polygons per car, where-as GT may range from 200k to 400k? I guess they weren't kidding when Kaz said they went overboard, mentioning that the premiums are more suited for next gen. It's mindblowing to me though that they can run them up to 16 on one track.

A lot of people applaud Naughty Dog for pushing the PS3, but I think PD is under-rated and under-appreciated in this regard. They even feature a next gen tech like adaptive tessellation.

Still curious what environment they're deleting from these images and why. It's pretty clear something was there originally with all the reflections, tree branches are clearly visible in this one. If it's something they're not showing yet why not take pictures of the car in that normal, dark setting? Why take them in a full setting them delete it but leave the reflections?

Strange.

Looks like one of the Japanese-style photo travel location to me. 👍

Probably because Naughty Dog doesn't release games with half their assets consisting of PS2-level graphical quality.

It's just an environment mapping on the car. It's similar to the "Outdoor" setting in the GT5 dealer when looking at a car.

Same old dumb AI. (placholder right? lol)

Why does it seem as though the the car is being steered from the middle.
Like there is no front and rear wheels, it just pivots from the middle? (placeholder physics too?)

I think I see some improvments (I think).hard to be sure with such a narrow track. Also this track will be undrivable with more than 6 cars on track

They're not deleting anything from the pictures. When they rendered the pictures, they have set a special background that's only rendered in the reflections. The reason is probably so that the reflections will look more realistic.

What AI? That first video was terrible, they just crawled around the curve like they were on a Sunday drive. But it's placeholder of course, so not to worry.

Also at 2:08 in the GTR video the sand seemed to whip him round far more violently than it should have.

I personally think they're just trying to show the improvement of the in-game reflection on the car's exterior. In that case, I'd say it has improved for sure.

Just got back from my local GameStop, I have the normal game already pre ordered but when I asked about the anniversary edition they said that it wasn't available. So hopefully you're right about every copy being the anniversary edition.

No. I pre-ordered mine a month ago and they asked me if I wanted the normal version or de Anniversary Edition.

Well Kaz did say that the major changes they're trying to utilize for the sound and A.I. may not make it by GT6's release (perhaps in a future update?_, so how in the world would it be done at the time of this demo, when they can't even show more than 6 cars yet? I wouldn't expect sound or revelations of a new A.I. in any of these demos.
