Call me crazy, but I swear I can hear the Huayra's engine through all the ruckus...:scared:

Hey Crazy, i can hear it too, sounds ok frim what i can hear but if they'd have changed much then surely we would have heard about it.

Many videos posted but no one mentions better sounds so...

507 is a beauty but I don't like that cockpit view at all. Having the driver's hands just under the screen feels irritating to me.

If he uses the automatic in that video (which I can only assume) I'm glad it's not a perfect shift drone anymore now. That'll give people who shift themselves hopefully a proper advantage.

Shifting yourself is already a proper advantage, since GT1.

I recall the first footage of a convertible in GT6 was the Z8, which had the roof down. Now the 507 has it up.

Also in GT5 the only convertible that could be used with the roof down was the California, after the car was tuned in GT Auto. By default the roof was up though.

PD is so weird.

Other way round, fit a wing, roof is up. Otherwise, it's down

How hard can it be to have a option. Think that will ruin the 507 a bit for me if it's up. Planned on that being a nice relax and chill driver.

Thanks for the clarification. Completely forgot about that, because most convertibles in GT5 had the roof up, very few down and only one (the California) had the option of putting it up or down, in a rather obscure way which is fitting a wing to it in GT Auto (no specific option, no in-game info on how to do it).

I understand that performance issues -tied to interior quality- is the reason to have roofs up, but I really don't like PD's approach of having some up, some down and one special case. From the two Gamescom videos it seems it is going to stay.

What I'd prefer is having an option, knowing it means a lower level of detail and some minor frame rate inconsistency. If not my second pick is to have all roofs down, then the third choice to be all up and the PD approach in last place.

edit: and if the option for all premium convertibles is added I hope it applies to all cars in the field and is right before playing. A bad implementation would be just like it works right now: having to do it for each car like the California, which would be very taxing (going to garage and GT Auto 50 times) and only the selected car has the roof set differently than the rest of the field (it's more fun if all have it down).

It is possible that the GT6 convertibles keep their roofs up on weather tracks but fold them down on the basic tracks.

Will be interesting to check between the performance differences with the roof up and down in the new aerodynamics. :D

Yep, using the wing delete "hack", you can have the roof up permanently, too.

I'm going a bit off topic but just to correct this, I tried, when the wing is not visible the roof is always down. I'd prefer the California with its roof up to be honest because the shape seems cleaner and more fluent then, but in GT5 it won't do. :indiff:

Of course it is, but slapping racing tyres on a street car using automatic and bashing your way through the AI field shouldn't exist in GT6 anymore, i.e. PD should take care of things like damage, penalties, license test requirements etc to access races in my opinion.

Talking about that stereotype now, actually that video proofs the opposite. It's just that minor late shift detail that gave me a little hope. :nervous:

...

Ah, that's probably a case of the expectation being more prominent in my mind than the actual reality!
Thanks. 👍

I also think it looks nicer with the roof up.

WTF?!? pitch and roll look like in GT5, where are pitch and roll of GT6academy?!? :grumpy:

No, in GT5 it was not significant. Here, we can see the "pitch and roll" clearly, and it is not the same for every car.

They should just give drive throughs or stop and go penalties. If you don't obey, you get disqualified. No points and no money. Problem solved.

Disqualifications can also result in a forced restart, since most players will restart if they get disqualified anyway. The no points, no money disqualification can also work towards championship events as well since restarts aren't allowed in those.

Exactly. I'm not sure how penalties work in other games such as rFactor or Formula 1 games, but it would be nice to simulate some realism.

Also, what happened to the flag system? No more hints of this in recent vids?
