I know you hate that word but didn't Kaz confirm the sound on the BMW is indeed a placeholder.
Sure, but I doubt it will sound anything like the poorly dubbed Concept Movie #3.

Besides, GT6 will hit shelves in just little more than three months from now. Not exactly a timeframe where major improvments can be made. Either we can debate placeholders till the end of time or just come to terms with the fact that the sounds will simply suck.

A lot of work needs to be done, sound is non existing, and the crash physics are the same as in GT5, where is the tire model they are talking about...

Wait for TGS gameplays. If they still use the same AI and sounds then there is just one choice: give up!

Same AI : arcade mode and beginners. Wait the final version.

Sounds ? I doubt, wait final version too.

There are 3 months left before 6 december 2013.

PoDy works very hard and We must not forget that GT6 will be release on PS3 with 256Mb of RAM.

HOLY FREAKING COW, THE SOUNDS ARE NOT FINAL.

FOR GODS SAKE.

Seriously. Some of you do this on purpose. Or you can't read. Or you're not reading enough.

The graphics look fantastic. Nobody mentioned that.

Just:

"OMG, SOUNDS ARE BAD, DIE PD, PD IS CRAP, SOUND IN VIDEO IS BAD".

Everyone is free to post but some stuff lately is making this place unbearable...

Sorry for the red words and all... its just getting tiresome to read the same stupid complaints months before the release of the game.

....what about physics?

Isn't physics about how stuff reacts to each other?

If they say they've "almost perfected" the physics, then why are the crash physics SO DAMN AWFUL! Before GT5 it was acceptable... Ok they dont roll over... Makes sense if the rest of the crashes aren't accurate either. But GT5 comes with rollovers.... With the ABSOLUTE WORST rollover physics I have ever seen in my life. Same with the 2d crashes, wall to car, car to car, etc. Seems like its the exact same in 6. Get ready to see SUVs sliding sideways in sand pits at over 100mph without a single wheel even hinting at coming off the ground... PD needs to realize that if damage isn't possible (which I totally understand) then at least contact physics should be semi believable.

December isn't the date you should be worried about. The game that is on discs will probably be finished Nov. 1st (so that the discs can start being produced), which means the audio (and video) content will probably be finalized 3-4 weeks before then so that it can be thoroughly tested and certified.

....what about physics?

you can't go scuba diving without oxygen tanks.

you can't call 911 without a phone.

you can't talk without a mouth.

you can't present a project to the class looking like a bum.

Physics is good, yes, but the sound... what about sound?

Deaf people drive all the time

LOL Theres literally no low end,all mids and highs.Man I hope they can fix this before the game release.Sony should send some outside help to help with the sounds seriously.

You can have physics without sound. I mean, what about a Toyota Prius in real life? You dont really hear much... but that doesn't mean the laws of physics are altered.

The most disturbing part is seeing something that looks like a cat, walks like a cat, eats like a cat and then it moos.

Someone please tell me that the sounds aren't final. PLEASE.

Well according to the person that's actually involved with this game, they aren't. Take that however you want but since its Kaz and not someone else that said it, that's about the only actual word to go on (even if its to be taken with some salt).

I'm starting to lose hope as December is closing in fast.

Is it really? Seems to be going mighty slow for me.

Those of us with decent listening hardware noticed the sounds for Huayra were for a V10 a few pages ago. What's interesting is that the dynamic range compressor is way out of whack, or maybe the collision volume is set to go too high for hard impacts. Why have they been fiddling with that? Is it because this isn't a final build?

The real sounds for the Huayra will likely be in PD's "entirely new" synthesis format. I hope they can pull off getting that new synthesis method to run on PS3, because it doesn't look like they've got much in place contingency-wise for the "old" system (correctly attributed samples is a minimum).

Yes,however check out the Pagani video,it's using the sample from a previous car (sounds like Lamborghini's V10).So surely that is indeed a Placeholder.

Seems like a hybrid between the V10 from the Gallardo and the original sample for the road going Zondas from GT3.

Yes, I'm well aware of it. I recognized it immediately (what I'm referring to). However, the clock is still ticking. Not much time left to claim it as a placeholder.

The huayra video above is really interesting. Listen at 4:02 or so, you can hear that between 3000 and 4000 rpm it's transitioning between two completely different recordings.

Yeah, its kinda like the GT-R GT3 when I was playing the GT Academy demo. As it went up the rev range, it went from the new sample to the old sample from the 2011 N24 GT-R.

Now that you mention it,I hear some GTR in there also it does resemble the Zonda abit (That Zonda GT3 whine can not be forgotten)especially at the lower revs.really weird sound sample

Is there any new in the series car that sounds about right,if not than this could be worrying indeed.
