GT6 server boycott: March 1-8

I was also a hardcore racer on GT5. I felt wery dissapointed with the looks off GT6 with the blurry Graphics
and yet again no tyres consideration in the pp calculation ( wich mean 95% RS lobbys) Ive played it for 3 Days after release and did the 20 mill glitch and then stopped. I have a gaming pc so I Went to Iracing and Asetto Corsa. After a to month absence from the game Ive fired upp GT6 again and I most say it looks schockingly bad now when comming
from PC, and the low framerates made me feel sick and gave me a headache. They better stepp upp bigg time for
GT7 for me to even consider a GT game again.

You'd need to get 100% of people who play GT6 online on board, which you wont because thats not realistically possible.

I'm not that annoyed with PD. I bought the game on Day 1, and I played and enjoyed it for the first month or so. What does slightly peev me is that now that i've finished the career mode, i'm just waiting around untill they add the remaining features that they promised. I could have just waited 6 months and paid £20 to play the whole game at once.

I think we'll get a sizeable update soon - maybe one that adds more than one of the missing features.

They dont give a **** about that...
Theyll release content when they want...
So manny years have passed and still some have learned nothing.
PDs promises are always left waiting... and we will be left waiting again and again....

no 6 on the 6th ! ... sounds more catchy ... and why a whole week ?
(plus on that day it's 3 whole months after release)

This is a very silly idea for a couple of reasons:-

1) Update was promised in Feb, it's still Feb and even if it only comes to us in first week of March so what? You know this is a game and not the sole reason for your existence, go outside, do something else, stop with the crying.

2) Even if 100% of the members of GTP all sign up it won't make any difference as people on here make up a very very small percentage of GT users, so the servers won't even notice your absence.

Lastly, lets suppose that this thing worked and the servers were completely empty, PD might take the thought that no-one likes GT6 and therefore concentrate on GT7 and not release and further updates or seasonals for GT6. Ever heard the expression be careful what you wish for?

I think the last point is mute and won't happen but this is just a scenario, however that said I stand by my first two points (especially the first one) and believe that this idea is very silly indeed.

I run an endurance serie (look my sig) and the only problem we have is the tire bug, but being the same for all drivers is not a deadly issue. Had like 3 disconnection in the 6 one hour and half races so far and 2 last monday.

Gt5 was FRIGGING worse, way more disconnections, black screens at start, drivers with invisible cars etc etc...

Gt6 is already better in all ways, unfinished yet better, sometimes i do not understand all the bad things told about the game... They are overscaring people over issues the are less severe than those of gt5 and reducing people that get the game or play online.

Like this is a neverending cicle of complains for a game imho is vastly better. People complain about lack of endurance yet do no join enduro races online is just an example.. B spec? I bet 99% of people didn't waste much time on it in gt5 and in any case it will come!

Online features? Late but will come (as if we needed something over gtplanet lol)

Seriously gt5 was a REALLY bad game for over one year; i'm the only one that remembers it?

/rant over

Good luck on the boycott but i think it's useless.
Cheers for replying :)

I never raced GT5 online but I and others in my series have had a lot more issues than the tire bug and disconnects, but this isn't the place to list them... Maybe I'll make a proper thread about it when I have more info about the problems I've been encountering

it seems 1 out of 2 attempts to play online causes my ps3 to crash and my GT6 disc to get thrown at the wall. iv given up on GT6 online, i simply cannot be ****ed with it anymore, i still play offline quite a bit, but with very few changes to GT5, i even find that hard...

played GT4 quite a bit yesterday, and its amazing to relive the peak of the GT's, and then watch it slowly crumble down into the pile of unfinished, buggy, inconsistent crap that it is currently.

i do have faith in the updates to come however, look at GT5 when it first released, and then look at it now. we just all have to play the waiting game.

So the idea is to stop playing (punishing yourself) in order to try to get some attention from PD?
Noone will notice besides the people that are actually 'joining' this Boycott.

It souds to me like being a Tibetan Monk setting himself on fire... on a desolated Island...

If this turns into another version of the '...where's our update' thread, it will just be cleaned up and closed. Perform a self-diagnostic before you post and make sure its within the boundaries of the topic that is actually being discussed and not just another rant about missing features and personal disgruntlement.

you mean not going in lobbys & seasonal events , or not be online at all while playing gt , meaning losing the login-bonus

VBR
Maybe we should burn our copies of GT6 instead, film it, then upload it to You Tube & post them all in a dedicated thread.

:mischievous:

I would love to see that happen the day before a big patch / update is being released!
Will post a video of me laughing for 24 hour straight as a reply then to all your videos!

Thank you.

A great man once said, "sound travels at the speed of sound, light travels at the speed of light, but words travel through time itself."

I guess your plan will work afterall!
Since 99,99% of the people worldwide won't play GT6 anyways they won't be on the servers most likely next week!
I think you just might have the biggest Boycott in the world EVER!

“Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.”)

Don't get me wrong, but this is pretty childish. As some guys previously said, GTP users make small percentage of GT6 online players so this boycott won't be worth noticing, especially to the PD who dearly listens to its fans and GT community.

He also said: "Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new." ;)
"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."

[Albert Einstein/]

I've not played GT6 more than 10 hours in total since launch and I suspect that's not about to change in the near future. I guess that makes me eligible to participate.

Please work more effectively PD.

Those issues you had on gt6 online are damn anormal... Clean uyour cache, reinstall game. Or it might be your hd kissing you goodbye.

Try again.

If you want to protest fine, but I think you need to find a more effective way of doing it. This is like trying to move a mountain by throwing a pebble at it. And I think you need to work on your message too. As for GT6 being an unfinished product, you chose to buy it without the features that you want, that's hardly PD's fault is it? - But I do get that you at least want PD to communicate when those features are coming, since you can reasonably claim that you paid for the game expecting those features to be added.

If the game really is as bad as is being made out, then surely those that would be protesting have already stopped playing? Again meaning PD are hardly likely to notice it.

I doubt there is an effective protest in this situation (all the complainers sell their copies of GT6, flood the market with used copies to dent the dwindling new sales?), I think what you need to do is find a clearer avenue of communication to voice your concerns.

Just my two cents.

What might be a more direct approach, is spamming/flooding Sony & GT's Facebook/Twitter/etc with a message.

People who have had issues with Airlines losing luggage/etc, have effectively 'called out' the companies on Twitter, by tagging them and asking very straight-forward "what the duck?" questions, and by putting the companies 'on the spot' usually get what they want rather quickly. I think it was a Buzzfeed article or something I read on that.

You could go to the GT Facebook page and start asking questions, see if they even respond.

(In the back of my mind, I keep seeing a 'broken' Kaz crawled into a little ball under his desk, with a "leave GT alone" meme in the picture, lol)
