Im sure this is on most of our minds and i figured this would be a fun topic. How do you plan on attacking GT this go around? What strategy are you going to use to reach your goals or 100 percent?

This being my sixth time, I plan on breaking tradition(some will cringe) and using exclusively the pre-order bonus cars for a-spec. If licenses are required I will do those first and then start working on all the a-spec events and seeing how far I can go without spending a single CR. With whatever cash I manage to save without buying cars or upgrades I will purchase only the cars I need to complete a-spec. Hopefully I can get that done before b-spec is released in a patch. When most of a-spec is finished I will do special events and then b-spec, begin car collecting starting with Alfa's, Ferraris, and classic cars. End game will be spent collecting, tuning, and testing which for me is the core of the game.

*INB4 "Game isn't out yet how do you know what strategy to use?".
Answer; its freaking Gran Turismo. We at least know the structure/routine or we will be disappointed.

I think there aren't licenses as in previous games this time, after seeing screenshots. Have a look at these:

What looks like an 'N' (Novice) license in the first screenshot is actually part of the career mode, with 3 events: Sunday Cup, Enjoy Cup, Novice Championship, [Optional] Coffee break.

Once you get enough "stars" by winning races you get access to an "exam", and if you pass it then you can start racing in the next class (B national).

Wouldn't be that sad if the license were gone, but I will miss them.
That first braking test in every GT has a special place in my heart. After 15 years it will be weird not doing it first thing.

I will try to resist using the pre-order bonus cars since I used quite a few of the free cars when I picked up GT5XL edition. I sure hope the A-spec mode is much deeper and more challenging than GT5's. I'd miss the license tests also, there were a lot of cars that I ended up liking that I would never have considered if I had not driven them in the license tests.

I too will probably use the pre-order bonus cars first :# I'll try to keep my car leveled with the Ai though. I'll probably look through GT Auto and the tuning shop, then get started with the first 3 or so licences. Maybe do some races in between. I really have no strategy lol.

I will only use Pre-order bonus cars in Arcade as they in my view are a form of cheating. I did not earn those cars from racing so cannot use them to progress in A-Spec.

I'm not going to use any of the 'special' cars until I know how the oil/break-in procedure works on the cars. Will it remain the standard 'buy, change oil, break in for 200 miles'? Until I know how to get max hp out of those cars, I won't touch them.

For me, it'll depend on how its structured. If grinding is the way to go again like it was in GT5, I'm using the pre-order cars. If not, I'll go about the game like I did before with the first four GT games.

I felt this way at first and originally hated them. Then I started thinking of them as a gift for playing and supporting the series from the beginning. I've earned them!

Set up a online lobby with hopefully new setting to make it more organized right after I stroll through the dealership looking at all the cars and figuring out a plan of attack when it comes to getting into the tuning.

Getting my favorite cars isn't going to be a priority at first. I'm only going to buy the cars I need that are required to do events until I reach a point in the game where a lot of money is easy to come by. Managing your money well is important in the beginning so you don't run into a corner.

I was considering doing some special events to make a whole bunch of Cr but that might disrupt my career mode exp. That said I think I'll try to play through a good portion of career before exploring other events.

Im hoping practice mode is like GT4 with extra cars on the track. Then, it will feel like a "proper" track day when/if we break in cars.

my strategy to start gt6 is to go to the Audi dealership and stare at the R18 .. man a'm my gonna drive the .... out of that car. Of course When i figure out what strategy i'm gonna use to get the 20.000.000$ first

I like the idea but I don;t think there's a pre order car with a low enough PP rating to get into the very first races.
Then you will likely have to spend credits to mod the car to make them competitive in all races.

I'll probably do the same as you but if the UCD is there in one way or another and there's another weird schedule to it, I'm going to to be buying cars left and right.

Do the same thing I did with GT5! Buy a cheap crappy car and start my crawl up A-spec. I'll only be using the bonus cars for just driving around for fun. I don't really start collecting cars until I'm pretty far into A-spec.

The Lotus Europa might be low enough PP.

The europa and the a110 possibly. Looking at the screen above it seems you need to be under 430pp for the very first race.
350PP actually. Not sure if you can use anniversary cars or not because in the screenshots it shows only the Honda Fit available in the Honda dealership because it's under 350PP. Everything over 350PP is shaded over. It's possible you may not be able to detune and enter the race, but have to wait for the game to find out. Plus the car has to fit the regs, which might be <350PP and FF.

350PP is what your very first car is likely limited to(I'm almost positive I was the first to point that out, and now you're using it against me ). Look at the 4th picture I posted. 430PP limit for the very first race.

The cheapest car with most upgrade potential.

Probably stick to euros at the start to give me more of a challenge though as they tend to be expensive even for the low end stiff like citroens and Alfas.

Then buy my self a RWD.

we will see, if I am forced to buy a starter car I will get that little Alfa Romeo Mito(or whatever its called)
