When will the sub forums for GT6 go live on GTPlanet?

Right now the GT6 forum is pretty much the discussion forum only. When will we have say the tuning forum so that we can start organizing around understanding the new physics?

Thanks,
Keith

First thing we should have is the Questions and answers forum, after that, everything else will go live once the game's released.

Here's a question for you guys: do you think a review sub to collect all reviews would be a good idea?

But yes, Jordan has a plan in place with all kinds of new subs and sections, it'll be live in due time.

@Jarnac
That exists already:

Reviews are few and far between and short lived, so don't need a subforum - a review thread is enough.

Rather than clubs imagined and managed offline which meet online, GT6 will have dedicated facilities specifically for user created online clubs.

I think a review sub would be a good idea, in the beginning. It'll slowly die off.

Its hard to tell right now what type of "clutter" the main section would get. I'm assuming it'd be reviews though or "I can't believed this mess". Maybe a GT6 rant section?

You're right haha, sometimes I get carried away with the idea of new subs, thanks for bringing me back down to Earth.
A dedicated thread to reviews would be good enough, as long as the OP was updated.

@Jarnac
And it fits perfectly into our existing clubs and leagues sub in the Online Events section.

@Jarnac
Worked pretty well for us in GT5.

Online racing is too big to be kept in a sub inside a sub, it deserves its own section.

A sub-link inside the GT6 sub would be good, just to point more people over the right section.

Sublink is good enough idea - you do know about the online clubs planned as a feature for GT6 though?

Oh yeah, really looking forward to seeing what the new community features are all about. I have a feeling they won't be too expansive though, which is a shame. I'm heavily invested on the online side of GT, so it's definitely something I've been keeping up on. You can hear me talk all about it in my podcast, linked in sig.

If I remember correctly, GT5 had one two weeks before release? So, I suppose logic dictates that by next week the subforums will be made.

I wouldn't mind seeing a sticky at the top of each forum entitled, "How to use [this] Forum - Read this First" and then have some simple guidelines including how to properly do a search to avoid duplicate topics. It could include links to other closely related forums that may be more appropriate and some examples of the more frequent posting errors. In the GT5 Q and A forum for example you get all kinds of questions that belong in other forums, like, "How do I tune my S2000...." and perhaps this can be avoided with some simple guidelines at the top of each forum.

It'll also give the regular users of that forum the opportunity to copy and paste something to point people in the right direction, saving the mods the trouble of redirecting all the time.

The beauty of organizing through GTP is you know that you're likely to find like-minded people who want clean and organized racing, and this is the best place to find those people. The "in-game forums/clubs" will likely be full of the idiots and children you find in public rooms that ruin races. I think the best bet will be a combination of the two, use GTP to find and recruit the good drivers and have discussions and pair that with whatever features the game is going to offer us. GTP is the macrocosm, the whole world is here and easily accessible at any time, the GT6 forum features are the microcosm and will allow access to who is currently online and looking to race.

@Wardez, do you think it would be beneficial to split the online competition subforum into GT5 and GT6? I imagine there will still be some people doing organized racing with GT5 for a while to come and giving them their own playground would help eliminate confusion.

👍 I figured you guys were all over it and already thought it out. I am quite interested to see what kind of forum/club options the game will offer, GTP will still be the main hub but I think the game's social features will enhance and improve how we do what we do.
