As GT6 turns one year old, I thought that I could do a review on GT6. There are some things that are in my personal opinion. Do not be mean to me if your opinions differ from mine.
I have been playing GT6 since December 7, 2013, the second day that the game was released in the United States, where I live. I have the 15th Anniversary Edition, with the 25 bonus cars. I have all 573 stars in career mode, gold in all licenses, mission races, coffee breaks, one-make races, Goodwood Hill Climb events, the Lunar Exploration events, the Ayrton Senna Tribute events, the Sierra Time Rally events, even the uber-difficult Red Bull X2014 Standard Championship and every other Red Bull X event. I have even obtained gold in every Seasonal Event thus far; I have not missed a single one. Lastly, I have loved GT6 since I got the Honda Fit RS '10.
When the game launched, it had lots of controversy. People still complained about Standard cars, bad car sounds (I don't mind the sounds because I never pay attention to that), and a new controversial feature, microtransactions. Before the 1.02 update, which re-introduced the login bonus and increased credit payouts in events, it was either the Anniversary Edition or bust. The game still has controversy. Some fans are still waiting for the Course Maker and B-Spec. Many people also want improved AI, and sounds as previously mentioned. While we do have some features now, such as the Data Logger, GPS Visualizer, the Sierra track, Quick Match, the Community and Clubs, many of them were delayed for a long time. On the bright side, there was over 1,200 cars, but two-thirds of them were Standard; at least there was more Premium cars than cars in Forza Motorsport 5. There was also night racing and weather, which was also in GT5, but some tracks were updated to have those features, which wasn't in Forza 5. I even thought that GT6 was rushed so that the game could compete with Forza 5, despite the updated content.
The new menu GUI in GT6 was much more accessible and convenient than the one in GT5. The GUI was like an all-in-one. You could access anything right from the menu. Loading times were much faster. I'm also glad that there isn't a Used Car dealership anymore; it was so irritating to "grind" in-game days so you could get a car you want, especially the Formula GT. It seemed like GT6 improved more on the aesthetics, and not the gameplay.
The Vision GT cars were all great. We only have nine Vision GT cars so far (Mercedes, Mercedes Racing Series, BMW, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Nissan, Aston Martin, Toyota, and Subaru, but we'll get the Chapparal 2X soon enough). I can't wait to see even more futuristic-looking cars in the future.
Although I think GT6 is a great game, there is still much to be improved on the game. I plan on getting Driveclub as soon as I can, even though I don't have a PS4. I will also try to get Project CARS when it comes out, preferably the PC version. I might even get an Xbox One and Forza Horizon 2, even though I have a 360 and I know that there is a 360 version. The Crew doesn't interest me that much. Mario Kart 8 is just 🤬 in my opinion. Just seeing the Luigi Death Stare makes me want to scream. Plus, I don't like games like that.
