As GT6 turns one year old, I thought that I could do a review on GT6. There are some things that are in my personal opinion. Do not be mean to me if your opinions differ from mine.

I have been playing GT6 since December 7, 2013, the second day that the game was released in the United States, where I live. I have the 15th Anniversary Edition, with the 25 bonus cars. I have all 573 stars in career mode, gold in all licenses, mission races, coffee breaks, one-make races, Goodwood Hill Climb events, the Lunar Exploration events, the Ayrton Senna Tribute events, the Sierra Time Rally events, even the uber-difficult Red Bull X2014 Standard Championship and every other Red Bull X event. I have even obtained gold in every Seasonal Event thus far; I have not missed a single one. Lastly, I have loved GT6 since I got the Honda Fit RS '10.

When the game launched, it had lots of controversy. People still complained about Standard cars, bad car sounds (I don't mind the sounds because I never pay attention to that), and a new controversial feature, microtransactions. Before the 1.02 update, which re-introduced the login bonus and increased credit payouts in events, it was either the Anniversary Edition or bust. The game still has controversy. Some fans are still waiting for the Course Maker and B-Spec. Many people also want improved AI, and sounds as previously mentioned. While we do have some features now, such as the Data Logger, GPS Visualizer, the Sierra track, Quick Match, the Community and Clubs, many of them were delayed for a long time. On the bright side, there was over 1,200 cars, but two-thirds of them were Standard; at least there was more Premium cars than cars in Forza Motorsport 5. There was also night racing and weather, which was also in GT5, but some tracks were updated to have those features, which wasn't in Forza 5. I even thought that GT6 was rushed so that the game could compete with Forza 5, despite the updated content.

The new menu GUI in GT6 was much more accessible and convenient than the one in GT5. The GUI was like an all-in-one. You could access anything right from the menu. Loading times were much faster. I'm also glad that there isn't a Used Car dealership anymore; it was so irritating to "grind" in-game days so you could get a car you want, especially the Formula GT. It seemed like GT6 improved more on the aesthetics, and not the gameplay.

The Vision GT cars were all great. We only have nine Vision GT cars so far (Mercedes, Mercedes Racing Series, BMW, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Nissan, Aston Martin, Toyota, and Subaru, but we'll get the Chapparal 2X soon enough). I can't wait to see even more futuristic-looking cars in the future.

Although I think GT6 is a great game, there is still much to be improved on the game. I plan on getting Driveclub as soon as I can, even though I don't have a PS4. I will also try to get Project CARS when it comes out, preferably the PC version. I might even get an Xbox One and Forza Horizon 2, even though I have a 360 and I know that there is a 360 version. The Crew doesn't interest me that much. Mario Kart 8 is just 🤬 in my opinion. Just seeing the Luigi Death Stare makes me want to scream. Plus, I don't like games like that.

I clicked that I love it, which I do, but I am also frustrated by the absence of an event creator - I can't believe this would be difficult to implement and would greatly extend offline play.

I fail to understand how anyone could not be disappointed and frustrated by the very poor quality of the sounds, however there have been some new cars with good sounds such as the Senna Lotus F1 and the Senna F3 car. The new option to move the microphone (source of sound) is a great addition and enables for instance the Nissan GTR on the Sierra event to sound good if you select the exterior position and use it with cockpit or bonnet view.

The addition of racing numbers was great, but some things introduced such as gauges - I question whether that development time could have been better spent.

It is frustrating that bonnet view - which should be at the base of the windscreen is on the roof on some cars, such as the Ferrari 250 GTO - this really spoils my enjoyment of those cars - it's not always possible to use cockpit view because sometimes they are too dark or the camera position is too low down, or the sun visor strips are so black and large that it is like looking through a letter box.

The community features are welcome, but it really needs a "Race Meeting" option as well as an "Event" - a meeting would comprise a series of events. At the moment it is difficult to arrange a meeting with changes of PP etc.

I'm disappointed that the special events such as Sierra don't pay out multiple times as then I could justify the time spent practising these. The cars are too expensive and payouts especially for online racing are too low - presumably to encourage microtransactions, but I refuse to indulge in these. For some people the games economy may be ok, but for people with limited time or who like the expensive cars it isn't.

If this was an end of year report and I was the teacher I would say - "PD needs to listen to what people say they want. A good start and some good contributions, but needs to raise the standard and speed up the delivery of improvements."

I voted for "It's mediocre, I think it will only get a plausible level even in future updates."
Why? Because there's STILL no Course Maker and B-Spec. Even after a whole year. I'm getting tired of waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I'm giving it one more year. If by December 6, 2015, there is no B-Spec and Course Maker, I'm done with Gran Turismo for good.

I voted 'It's okay, I'm getting bored with it, but future updates might change it.' That's how i feel but also I know that there are offline events that i left out because I'm just not that good like golding the Senna events, the last lunar rover, the 3 last goodwood evens and so on. So I'm trying to be as objective as possible. As Slick Cylinder wrote, an offline event creator would rescue GT6 for me. Just to keep up my interest in the game I'm constantly doing the GT3 and GT500 championships because that's the level of competitiveness that for me is not frustrating yet satisfying. As for the wait for the B-spec and course creator... I have a theory: the fact that we didn't get it is either because there isn't enough power left in the PS3 after all these technical changes that GT6 got, or PoDi doesn't have enough manpower to do it and they are currently doing something bigger and have shifted priorities. I read somewhere that Kaz stated that another Tourist Trophy might be in development after GT6 will be marketed (i cannot find the source, though), or they are juat making a kind of GT showoff for the ps4 like the GTHD. We can only speculate, but all in all these are the promised features and the least the team could do is release some kind of official statement regarding these functions, whether we do get them or not.

EDIT:http://www.play-mag.co.uk/general/new-tourist-trophy-game-a-possibility/

That's the Tourist Trophy source

I ticked "I really don't know". :(

Because I'm really disappointed I guess. I mean, the game has so much potential, but it lacks...

I'm really interested to see what GT7 looks like (will be watching and reading many reviews here prior to making my mind up. ;)) and have not even updated to PS4 at this stage.

I have no choice but to vote that I love it, after buying a Ps3 four years ago with GT5 included I have only bought 3 other games, and their discs have barely left the cases. Even the new Ps3 games I got off Santa this Christmas (F1 2014 & Battlefield add on) have not been used. Any improvement on the GT series is welcome but for me not needed - I think maybe I'm to easily pleased.

Happy New Year! :)

I love Gran Turismo 6 indeed.

I think that was a good to the point review.

There are a few things that can be improved, like A.I competitiveness (obviously), Damage, Car Sounds, weather effects, but overall I believe this game is pretty good.

I wanted to mention something I noticed about the sounds, which is they HAVE improved.

You can tell by testing out some of the newest premium cars. I picked up on it during the Goodwood challenges, and decided to do some cross referencing of onboard videos from youtube of vehicles doing pulls or just cruising.

I am excited for the future of GT regarding the car sounds. They are on the right track.

Try out the lotus europa, or the ferrari dino in game and cross reference onboard videos from youtube. You won't be disappointed.

I don't have any real pressing issues with the game though.

I'm curious. If AI isn't a pressing issue, meaning the entire offline career mode, and the awful sounds aren't an issue (worst engine sounds of any console or pc game), what exactly would you call a "pressing issue"?

My ideas of pressing issues are:

-No Course Maker
-Need more "current" cars

What you may consider an issue may not bother someone else.

But it seems like you have a need to chime in whenever someone's opinion isn't the same as yours.

And it seems like you like to leap to conclusions when someone asks you a question. But thanks anyway.

Let me be clear.
I don't have anything against you or anyone on the forum.

I just find it annoying that you often oppose my opinions in some way, whether its via a question or a statement.

Some things that I post I do so not for discussion, or debate but just to give people another viewpoint.

It's a discussion forum, there's no such thing as not posting for discussion. The solution is just don't respond if you don't want to, I do it all the time to posters I know are just flamebaiting. What's not a good solution it respond with a snipe and hope the other guy just lets it go.

i voted: " it's ok but bored with it, updates will change that "

i really love to play the game as it is but honestly, 1 year ago and still now, i expected something different.

Not talking about an army of new cars and tracks, no!
i just thought PD could make its game grow with simple ideas, mostly given by fans themselves...obviously a fail.

i still have hope for a mighty GT6 2.0 but i wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't bringing nothing new or something so quickly done it's another wasted potential.

Pd: please make me lie!

I voted "It's okay, I'm getting bored with it".

Don't get me wrong, I've got more than my money's worth from playing the game. Any GT game I can play to death, so I think getting bored with it is to be expected. I've explored all the cars, I completed the game a long time ago, so now I'm just playing about with what I can. The lack of customisation is beginning to show through for me, but as long as there's a bunch of cars and tracks to play around with, I'm fairly content for some time to come.

"It's okay, I'm getting bored with it" gets my vote. Honestly I think GT6 might be on its last legs for me, as everyday that passes by all I can do is just wish for PDI to release an update. And lets be honest, if a player can only find entertainment in the anticipation of what will most likely be redundant content, well it is then and only then, do you truly know as a developer that your game is of utmost mediocrity.

We actually have GT5.5 now so basically you would like GT5.6 ;-) Don't forget that is all GT6 is really as it was brought out on a superseded console.

I would agree with the GT6 descriptor *IF* it was released on PS4 but it wasn't.

IMHO it is nothing more than a half baked, cobbled together, half finished way of funding GT7 development.
