GT6 to be available on PSN for digital download

13GB/15GB
85% Downloading....

I'm expecting that changing your system date/time will enable it to work?
That was the first thing i've tryed ... but no, it doesn't work, it's checking the time with a server, not in your PS3.

It's 23.35PM 5th Dec in Japan, hope the unblock it's coming soon ...

I'm pretty sure that you can't play the game till 6th December 00:00.

I sure hope I'm wrong though!

Apparently the disc version installs as you play.
From what I have read there are no in-game installation options in the DL version of GT6.
The initial installation/preparation process is taking longer than I thought it would, though. 7 minutes and it still is at 20%.

Just a quick question guys. If I have a us set ps3 and a singapore region3 gt6, would I have any problems downloading the patch?

One of my friends confirms me that the disc version installs as you play, my DL version also takes so long to install, about 15 or 20 mins, and my PS3 has SSD.

How much does the digital version reserve from the HDD when fully installed?

Dang, it takes something like 6 hours to download the digital version with my a tad short from 8M ADSL., about 40% downloaded now...

Yeah since on the DL version we install it all at ounce, since we have no disc to stream data during gameplay it all gets installed fully :)

oo
I have the same problem, 3:15hrs and still only 46% done :banghead:

Really? Who would have thought it!!!!

This gave me a good laugh, cheers
It might seem like an obvious thing but it isn't in my opinion.
It means that the DL version is not just a dump of the disk version like the bootleg copies circulating on the Internet.
Even the fact that it requires a rather lengthy installation process although the game size is about the same of the disk version should mean something (although thinking about it, it might just be nothing more than a decrypting process for security reasons by Sony).

for those who already downloaded and installed the game how much it says it is when you hit about? 30GB?

Just timed it, im downloading around 20mb per minute, very slow, is there anyway of speeding it up??

I clocked the reported transferred megabytes, I got something like 40MB/minute, which makes about 0,65MB/second, which is "full steam" for my pitiful "wideband" connection.. What kind of connection do you have, mr. Bond?

Game info shows that it's unlocking at 0:00 CET and 08:00 Tokyo time on the 6th.

You can't see the system status disk size while its installing.... I had 29 GB free before I started, I had 14GB free when the download completed and I began installing....

The installation process took exactly 30 minutes on my Intel X25-E 64GB SSD.
The reported game size from the information screen on the main menu is "15 GB".
From the Game Data Utility menu it's "22 KB".

I tried to start the game.

PS3
The content is not available before the start date.

It would have been nice if it downloaded the 1.2 GB patch as well.

Well at the PSN store, on the GT6 page, and then on the download "tab" on the bottom left, when I open it, there is text that says...

"Please come back to the PlayStation store on the PS3 any time after 12:01am (EST) on Dec 6th to download your game and access the bonus 5-car pack."

..so the point is I don't think It'll let me download before that...

I just checked and its still not available for download in the US store. Honestly from past history with GT academy demos on the PSN store, I will just be happy if its actually available for download tonight at midnight like they claim it will be. Most reliable and fastest thing would probably be to go to 24hr Walmart at midnight and buy it :P The other advantage there is you don't have to be logged in every time you want to use it like a PSN game (although you an usually log out after it gets started).

I am really jealous of you guys who are already able to download it. Seems like they could have easily made it available for download to everyone at the same time:confused:

Looks like it requires a live connection to activate. I've tried time zone change, time change and on-/off-line. Same result.

Hmm, a downloaded single player based game that requires an internet connection, at least for the moment. (Slight sarcasm)

The front page story needs to he edited by @Jordan or @Wardez or @SlipZtrEm or some other person with that authority.

The Aussie PSN did some nasty throttling just before 2am for me - lasted about 20 minutes ...

I dropped from around 8000kbps 60MB/min down to around 3600kbps 27MB/min.

So prob not your connection if it varying all around the place - your original speed was closer to 40-45MB/min
