Someone got an idea for LSD settings to improve traction with the Porsche on Deep Forest? Did a few practice laps yesterday and have a 1:27:5. I maybe can try to approach the 1:26:x this week. These cars can be slippery on corner exits. I still find it hard (on a controller) to find something between 100 % throttle or almost no throttle. Difficult to gently increase the throttle every corner, instead of just ramming it to 100 % very fast. My LSD settings were 10 / 50 / 10. Was not disappointed, but can be adjusted further for a more safe feeling maybe. Not faster per se.
I've been using 8/12/25 - very different to your settings! I think they're from a Praiano tune.

Having said that, I've now switched to using the Genesis, which is faster for me (more stable too).

Dipping my toe back into Sport mode this week, primarily in Race A.
Club racing season has just ended, and as luck would have it, our final series was racing the Gr4 Scirocco, and at Leguna Seca only a couple of weeks ago.
Turns out all that practice has paid off, I managed a QT of 1:28.6, which is currently top 5% overall and top 1% for DR B. 😲
Racing from Pole is unusual for me, but has been fun so far, as I’ve been able to get away at the start and complete races without incident. I’m just gutted there is no DR to be had. 😭😂

Any hints as how to survive the first hairpin at Deep Forest without killing someone or getting killed yourself? I guess Im at the "sweet spot" of the grid in DR A / A+ lobby - often around #5-7. Feels like im just a passenger in the first hairpin. Either I take it safe and get bumbed from behind and at the acceleration overtaken by half the field or I try to be fast and there is ALWAYS someone either spinning or brake checking in front and I end up with a penalty. Either way I'm somewhere around 12-16 after lap 2 penalty line and with such a weak slipstream its nearly impossible to make a clean overtake unless the slower guy in front is co-operating. Usually finnish around #7-9, but I keep wasting potential for higher finish in the first corner.

Is anyone else getting their SR killed at Spa this week?
first 2 races i went wide in au rouge and that was enough to see SR drop a bit😔 next 2 races clean an back full 😃 first races went with the Audi but that 1 was to slow going Genesis now 2.17.0 quali first races with that 1 second and 4th place. btw i use PSVR only can't drive flat anymore 😂

The way I've gone today I'm going to be back in D soon enough ffs.

Finished the day with a 3rd and 2nd place on B.

Whilst the DR boost is good, I'm disappointed because both places I lost 1 spot due to a silly error.

Yesterday I spent 2 hours of practice with the 911 trying to find a tune for the rest of the week and I got nothing better than the stock car with a BB of -3 (1:26.210 with at least 2 tenths more to gain)

I even tried Digits recommendation:

6-8
20-20
50-30
3.60-3.20
5
7
35

But it was undriveable for me.
Obviously is a matter of taste and whats suits better for each driving syle.

My take is "I can control my exit but I cant control others" so I take the inside and most tight line possible on the first lap.
Iv tried the wide entry line (wich has a faster exit if you nail it) but Iv been T-boned so many times by irresposible drivers that it made me desist on that line.

You may lose one position choosing the tight line if the outside car is a confident driver, but I preffer that to be killed on the first lap.

I have also mostly tried to tuck in as tight as possible, but most of the time I eighter hit a pile of spinning cars or someone slams to my rear if i try braking enough to avoid the pile. Also you en up in a bumb fest where its very hard to accelerate out of the corner. With outside line there is always the crab shoot chance, that the cars flying out dont hit you or they happen to ghost before they would hit you. I dont like those chances..

I guess i have to try getting a better qt, but then the game usually just matches me to faster lobby instead of giving a better grid..

I guess it is a matter of taste. I tried some laps in the Porsche with my settings I mentioned earlier, and with the settings some people here posted. Within a few laps I was down to 1:26:7, but the lsd settings didnt matter too much.

Racing was a whole other experience.. my qt puts me somewhere on starting spot 4-8, but I manage to bin it every single race in the curvy last section. Especially the penultimate corner downhill. At one point I just drove into the pits and stayed there until the end of the race, because I crashed there 3 laps in a row. Maybe I'm going to try another car. With the Genesis I'm not as quick as with the Porsche up until now, but let's see.

At DF normal, 2 weeks ago, my strategy with the 911 was: QT that grant 1sr row (vital, in mid pack it's really too easy to get involved in an accident), V-shape the first hairpin (going quite deep with braking), practicing like if it was a rolling start. "V-shaping" the corner helps to get anyway a good traction (not perfect but enough) for the next "long straight". Surviving the initial mess can grant 1 or even 2 sec gap with the followers. During the races, I focused my self more on traction out of corners than actual entry or mid corner speed. It made the difference to a point that Supras or Lambos couldn't catch up on straights.

Day 2 race B did some warmup QT in the 16. now wanna try gettin in the 15 😅 did 2 races today first 1 was madness 1 guy steps on the brake uphill going from third place to 7th, second race was more fun close battle end up third enough for today gettin close to A level SR is back om max

I'm sitting out for most of this week.

Deep Forest reverse destroyed my SR last time, so I have no desire to go through all that again. I can't get the most out of the RS tires, so I am out of Spa.

Race A...meh. It's ok

I second your vote for the Genesis. Dropped my QT to 2:16.912.

Oh, and one good way to get your SR back up is to spin out on the last turn, not touch anyone or go off track, end up last, and just cruise the track from there. Wasn't my goal, but hey, you take pleasure where you can get it.

DR B, here I come!

Still going strong G.O.M.

The way I'm going I won't be at a A/B rating until maybe 2026-2027? See I'll do good for several races by finishing in the top 5 and take my opponents DR and then a few races later, I'll slip and finish anywhere between 6-12th, so then they take my DR and I fall two steps back. Frustrating if you ask me, but you've been dealing with it a long time too. I sometimes get good low lap times and on other tracks I can't seem to get my groove right, Spa is a troubling track for me. I'm gonna get my ps4/ps5 early next week near Black Friday, maybe there will be a sale going on. I've missed racing with you guys and other random drivers/folks out there. I'm glad I'll be missing Spa this week, some corners are hard for me to manage when I'm trying to get a fast clean lap in.

Race B: I'm happy to test out new tunes and test small increments each setting one by one and see how that impacts the cars behaviour and what it does to braking, cornering and rotation, and if it fits my style so I can get better traction and better lap times, but.... it takes forever!

Is there a shortcut where I can find a setting that works for me in lets say half an hour? Like: "focus on these two, the others just leave at x". I get that racing is also technology, engineering, settings, and all that, but I just don't have the time to figure it all out until the week is over.

I don't think Race B has tuning, only Race C. If you're looking for tunes, Praiano's Tunes seem to be a regular go to...and is also the only one I remember when people ask.🤣

Great for baselines, which is what it sounds like you're looking for.👍

Yes, but it's because I keep quitting races after being shunted from 5th to last.

I have but one question: RH or RM?

Finally got a chance at 10pm to a couple of Spa races ( sooner my son learns to feed himself the better 🤣). Anyway, very little time for QT which I set at a very poor 2.19 in the Supra. As I expected, I had a bad race...I just do not like that car. I actually quit as I was getting frustrated with it. Anyway, back to the 911 and only time for 1 quali lap at 2.17.9 but definitely a lot more to find. The next 2 races were the most fun races I have had in a long time, really good hard races but clean. Started 3rd in the first one but got out dragged up to Eau Rouge by a Supra and backed out for both our sakes 🤣 was a bloody good race, I made it to 1st and even survived side by side flat out up Eau Rouge with no contact. Unfortunately I just couldn't hold out to win as those Toyota's are stupid fast. Happy with 2nd. Onto my last race and I started P2, this time I tucked in behind the lead Supra and pounced at the end of Kemmel. The 911 is so good in the middle of the lap that I was able to break the tow by the end of the first lap. Was cruising to an easy win, maybe 5 seconds ahead on lap 4(no way to tell in VR) and of course I binned it 🤣🤣🤣 anyway, it was not to disastrous and I managed to hold on to 3rd place. Delighted with that because I am very rusty, hopefully tomorrow evening will afford me a bit more time and practice 👍👍👍

@Jflijohn Wow, that was totally random, well things like that happen. That's why I normally try to stay near the middle half of the pack and then try to overtake on the last lap or two. That is one of my methods/strategies for getting a top 5 finish. What's yours? I hope I can gain a bunch of DR and work my way back up to at least a C level. It's gonna take some time, it won't be an easy walk in the park.

Hey there Chris.
Ya, that was random mainly because there was no aggressive driving or passes leading up to that, and that was on the last lap. I saw him take the guy out on the right and I thought I was gonna gain 2 spots, it didn’t happen.
My strategy is to stay out of traffic, either by qualifying well or pitting early, too many drivers take the agressive way out.

I'm going for Race B at Spa this week. My current quick lap is way off of my usual spot on the leader boards. I'm in the Supra and I'm OK with it, but there is room for improvement for sure.

I did do 2 races to see where I would be on the grid and perhaps steal a few spots. I was P8 in my first race and finished P7 with myself holding the fastest lap for a while. Some contact, but it was the normal type that comes with close racing. The second race had me start and finish in P13. I got the dumb start in the middle of the bus stop and never was really in it. A few off tracks didn't help, but no spins for me so that's a win in my book. I just need to get my time down and avoid those middle to rear of the field starts.

Pretty abysmal night for me down in D class. Best QT I could manage at Spa was a 2:24 which put me around 7th-10th in most lobbies. Managed to pick off a few places in the races mostly due to people crashing or quitting but still lost DR each time. My QT was more competitive at Laguna but I got tired of being shoved off the track constantly so idk if I'll keep playing that one. I'll try to post some of my gameplay this week if any more experienced players feel like critiquing my driving

Got to say I just love Spa, and despite not having my Fanatec working and using this t300 I’m getting used to it

Got my QT down to 2.17.5xx so it’s getting competitive, I started 3rd traded first place with the pole and second placed starter for 4 laps until I eased ahead and won by 8 tenths!

First win in a while but well chuffed, although at C/B this win propelled me back into B/B and with it my motivation too!

Could be a good weeks running in the end
