I did race C once, 2.19 quali time with genesis - after max 5 laps of quali laps. Before the rain i was able to keep up with the pack. When rain came, my pace dropped to lowest. No wrong strategies, finished last P14, 1 MINUTE BEHIND P13. Any ideas on how to improve my pace on rainy conditions.

Drive outside the ideal line. You'll find more grip there. When it start to dry out, drive back onto the ideal line.

@tifosimert this is what made the biggest difference for me. There is a lot more traction available off-line than on, which makes sense.

The racing line is where the rubber is being put down. That's great when it's dry because it's super smooth and super sticky, not so great when it rains. That super smooth surface gives the water nowhere to go/compress so the car hydroplanes. Offline, the rubber hasn't filled-in all those 'nooks-n-crannies' on the surface. The water can still escape and the tires can contact the track.

Given some of the track drying time-lapse videos I've seen, GT7 is very much aware of where cars are driving. I think it's impressive that your line makes a difference at all in the rain.👍

Ran twice in the wet, getting dragged along at the tail end of DR B. Chose the wrong tires both times- first race was too wet for inters, second race too dry for wets. Payout makes it worthwhile to stay in, but I hope it dries out tonight...

Have we had X2019s as a daily at all yet?

Race C screams "Nations Cup facsimile" to me, but I don't know if PD would be brave/foolhardy enough to make people race the insanity that would be that combo.
I did only one lap of the actual TT to notice is hard enough to race those beasts alone in the track.
I cant imagine what kind of carnage could be with 15 others humans around.

This is the experience I'm anticipating when I finally hit Spa.👍

As an aside, I need to make 'OFG' a thing. Totally relatable sig...🤣

I do not recall ever seeing any Red Bull X2019 cars in any of the daily races since I began my career in October 2022. But I could be wrong. Maybe ask GrumpyOldMan, he has Gran tracker which keeps track of all the races for each week of every year.

Just did race C. Wow that was fun actually.

Started 12th. If anyone watches "The Kie 25"on YouTube you would have seen him overtake me on lap 1 when I ghosted because of a silly "heavy car through radillon for the first time" penalty lol.

My first stint was pretty awful and couldn't get into a rhythm amongst traffic, pitted lap 10 from 14th for mediums.

Started to rain lap 14 or so, I hung it out for a while until a spin as it just got too heavy for maybe 30 seconds.

Everyone else had pitted again and I span from 7th. I managed to tiptoe round to the pits, was still in 14th when I came out. Annoyingly I think I could have stayed out as it started to dry up pretty quick, definitely could have been on drys the next time I passed the spin spot.

Anyway, finished 14th, don't mind that as it was a very strong A+ lobby. I'm now A rated again, yay - slightly easier races for me! Will definitely do this race again tomorrow a couple of times, really enjoyed it even if I was over 2 secs a lap slower than the leaders.

My second stint pace was much much better as I got used to the heavier fuel load and tyre wear. Still really struggle with the exits from turn 1 and the final corner, the rest I'm actually pretty okay with.

400k credits, not as many as I was hoping for but still decent enough.

I was watching the race but from digit's perspective so I did not catch you on the time stamps. Yeh at the top of A is really though as usually there's only like one or two lobbies. Mostly with A+ players , so it's not that easy to perform. Crazy weather pattern you got in that race too.

Did 1 race C today and it felt like i drag something ok last race was monday but still does bad oil has 1 effect in the daily races?? still end up 5th so i don't complain but lap times 1full second slower vs monday may be i need to warm up 😅

Congrats on the P5 finish...I'll take those all day long.

As for the oil, this is always a fun conversation. There are folks in both camps (yes it does/no it doesn't) so the best advice, IMHO, is to change the oil and take it out of the equation. 👍

EDIT
Wash the car while you're there, too... 😁

There's actually 3 camps, there are people who think changing the oil makes you slower!!!!

(I have no evidence at all to agree with or go against any of the camps, but I have recently started remembering to change mine because why not, and also washing the car as well)

Had no idea. Not even sure how that math would work out, lol...😶

I'm with you, though...why not?👍

changing the oil makes you slower!!!!
Well that one is a first for me....the mind boggles lol.

I think we can all rationally agree that it

A: doesn't matter in BoP online races
B: it might matter but hardly quantifiable unless you are super sensitive to it, and at that point you are chasing 1/100s or even 1/1000s

But that it makes things worse just is the most bizarre thing...considering it is being used to alter engine health and BHP in single player at least.

All I can say "is they walk among us people, stay careful"

🤣

They are from the flat earth society...
Found their spokesman...should tell you all you need to know.

i did swap the oil and i did test 1 QT lap 2.18.4 easy so it has effect real or placebo 😂 ... in that race today i struggle to get .18 sec lap most are .19 QT on monday was 2.17.6 🤔 and in race on Mon also 2.17 and .18 laps. Gonna see tomorrow might be just fatigue

that oil swap must have a real or 1 placebo effect😂
oops did not clean the car thats too much money 🙃

It´s also very important to wash the car after the oil change and never before to make sure the aero is not affected by any unwanted oil drop on the surface

Jokes aside, when Im changing the oil in the game and my cat is nearby the tv he stops inmediatly what hes doing and looks at his water bowl like saying "hey, if you are playing that game who is refilling my bowl? because I know that sound"

Had to do at least one Race C, so I hopped into a couple races with my NSX Gr.3 and its 2:19.509. The last time we had a Spa endurance daily with weather, I got lapped. My goals are not to get lapped, and to rebuild SR. 😬

Race 1: Started P11. Got spooked by a laggy warpy 911 and beached myself spinning out of Stavelot on Lap 1, landing me in P15 (last). The rain came quick and heavy on Lap 5, catching me and a lot of others out. Took on Wets and some fuel. Was lonely at the back for much of the race, but people dropped out, and I found myself in P12 (last). Passed someone serving a penalty on Lap 19, and held on to finish P11. Got a nice SR boost to mid-A, didn't get lapped, didn't finish last, and pocketed Cr.497,300. Nice!

Race 2: Started P6. No rain this time. Avoided major mistakes and penalties to move up a few places. Pit at the end of Lap 10 for tires and a splash of fuel. Made some errors towards the end of the race that allowed a 911 to creep up on me. Barely held on for a P3 podium. Got a nice SR boost to mid-S, and Cr.825,400.

Exhausting, but fun. Good luck out there! 😤😅

Protip: If you do the engine overhaul for the 100k, the oil change is free! So yea, after every race do the engine rebuild, then wash. Look out, Gallo, I'm coming for you!!!

New oil is heavier than old oil maybe? Lol
Hmmmmm, I had a Subaru that would burn oil. So, yea... it would weigh more after an oil change! I think you're on to something.

I experienced this a lot in GTsport, the longer you keep the oil in a car, the heavier and slower it will be. I normally only make one pit stop during the longer races for the dailies. The fuel map comes in handy for some harder races.
