PD really nailed it with this race C and the last Bop for gr.3
Just look at the variety of cars of this lobby...

Lot of competitve choices, dynamic weahter, different strategies and "gambles" with the compounds.
So much fun!
This is what we were asking for, amazing combo.

Have been taking a break from GT7 for the last few months but 20 laps at Spa in changeable conditions combined with my wife being away for the week has got me hooked again!

One thing I really like is how well they got the BOP balanced on this, allowing me to try some Gr3s that I have not run before.

Current favourite is my BMW 6 Sprint which glides through Eau Rouge whilst my go to choice, the Porsche, is just a bit twitchy for my taste through there in the wet.

So much fun and a real challenge. Well done PD

I tried doing some qualifying for Race C using the 911 RSR but I didn’t even crack the top 10k times. Indeed, it does seem that the Genesis is the most popular, so I think I’ll try doing some qualifying using that instead.

EDIT: I’m now in the top 10k! Used the Genesis X to get a time of 2:19.498.

I want the tunes for some of these cars that are rented to us for Race A. The RX-7 handles WAAAY better than the one I have, and I'm sure the other cars do too. Is there a way to grab the Setting Sheets for these cars?
Update: I have yet to find out where the tunes for the Race A rental cars can be located. After searching Google up and down, I have come to the conclusion that PD has made these a secret. Unless I am mistaken, I'll just need to try my best to get the cars tuned on my own.

There is no tune, it's a fixed BoP. Only brake balance can be changed

I do know what you mean but my gut feel is that it is the BOPing that makes them feel sweeter sometimes. A little bit less power and / or more weight than you carry normally will just make them feel sweeter.

Have you run your own car on your own tunes on RMs in a lap attack at Spa to see the time difference?

For instance, I normally nail 2:19s and faster with my Porsche in the offline races but cannot get sub 2:20.125 with this BOP’d car

Race C.... Are intermediate tyres not as good as they used to be? I was 2nd last anyway, so changed to wets , and went about 12 seconds per lap quicker?! The surface rain was up at the 2nd mark, occasionally above it if off the racing line.
I think you are right. In the 1 hour / 24 hour race at Spa (my go to grind) I can normally stay fast on Inters until you get into the final 3rd.

Wets are really working on this race and essential to have them in your garage.

Just tried the Lexus out… wow. Took 0.8’off my best qualifying time immediately.

Was doing well until it rained then just not as stable as the Beemer for my driving “style”

You are far better than I am but I did a race on Monday evening and picked Intermediates and I found them perfect for the race I was in. Low lobbies maybe 🤔 my lap times were on average 7-8 seconds slower according to the bar. I QT very poor so I don't really have a measure but my dry lap time in a race was 2.17.5

I did a single race at RBR and it was not a good run. My qualifying time is way off pace and I was P14 on the grid. Add to that I was in a lobby with a lower range of SR for some reason that turned into dive bomb city. I finished P13 and I decided to get my my time better.

I was having a hard time getting the Lancer (using it for now) to turn in and hit the apexes. I then discovered that I never changed my wheel settings since the latest physics update. I've actually never changed my settings since the game launched if I remember. I think that would explain my struggles with everything lately. Now, the car goes where I point it and it's easier to drive overall. I now need to learn everything again and get used to a new setup.

I woke up in the middle of the night (1am GMT) worrying about the parasol for the table and the wind (grown up life lol) and then/now I'm wide awake.

I thought I'd race on my US account as there would be people up. 4 hours later what a great sleepless morning I had. The racing was exceptionally good bar one race where I think someone missed their braking point and then decided to go on a wrecking mission.

A few wins and top 5-7s just good racing in A/S lobbies. Thank you my American compadres!

Wow. You won't regret this decision when you're at work this day?

Myself I only did some QT laps for race B. Maybe I'll try some races there later, but I'm also enjoying myself with the Elden Ring game (nerd alert). Group 4 at RBR was also a daily when I started sport mode racing somewhere in February / March. I believe there was even an obliged pit stop and all, so I think it was a race C back then. Picked up my first win that week. It took months before I could repeat that.

Luckily I'm WFH today and it's our work Xmas party/meal so will get some time to sleep today before going out.

To be fair RBR can be hit and miss depending on the lobby, also this week again it seems like SR hits are turned up again so be careful if you do try it 👍

I wonder if the SR is the new standard. Finally got rid of that shameful SR.B rating and back to top S where it belong. But I will be more careful from now on.

I did two Races C with totally different weather which is fantastic. Why is it not the standard daily races!?

One with heavy rain from lap 6, gain 10 places to finish 4th. One great overtake in the last chicane on wet track.

The other one, light rain on lap 9 till the end. Coming to the pit on lap10 for new medium since the track is not over the first wetness marker. Unfortunately, one part of the track became more wet and made my life difficult. Spun two time and finish last. It was a difficult call for tires. Most went for inters. I will learn from that.

Has there been how much technical issues in race c? Had just one race C. At the beginning there was that "one car not moving" glitch in rolling start so 2/3 of the pack was stationary for good 20-30seconds. When the start finally happened - a stationary start from before the shikane for 2/3, my car was on reverse..😆 Well.. then came the early rain at lap 4 and I was perfectly at the pit entrance as the water started to wet the track. Was wondering if i should go full wet as some dark areas were coming in radar. WOULD have been perfect if only I wouldnt have messed up buttons and end up with NO tire change. Ok - i came back in next lap and went for interns and full tank as the full wets propably wouldnt last until the end if rain ends. "I'll be fine with interns for few wet laps". Well that few laps was about 10 laps with track moist at the 3rd bar. It just didnt start to dry even if the rain got light. Wet+puddles+interns.. yep. Pit or cope - i was done either way. I finished 11th about a lap behind the leaders.. well the 12th guy was 11laps behind with no pitstop. In a DR A lobby. Dont know what happened there. Rest was DNF. Then the grand finale. As the delay timer in result screen reached zero, the timer went away and i was stuck in the result screen with #10&#11 "still running..". After few minutes of waiting #10 went DNF, but #11 kept "running" until i closed the game from home menu. From what i checked i think i got the km, but not sure about the money..

NOT a well spend hour. Has anyone else had the software issues?
I have issues like that frequently and since i have gt7. Not exaggerating. Yesterday was really bad, because i didn't make it into the, it got stuck at loading the game 3 times in a row. I tried the usual, cleaning the disc, restart the ps4, erasing data.
6th attempt it started entered race b and stuck at loading again. I did race after reloading again. It is becoming way too much. Than there is lag in most races, but the coolest feature is the switcheroo. Example:, I am attacked by black audi tt driver is Hans from Germany.
He pushes me off track, behind me was Luigi italian in a huracan't, who passes me while im spinning.. Me chasing the Tt now.. And no kidding, suddenly hans and german flag on the huracan and the Tt is driven by the Italian... I mostly remember or even know the names of my opponents,. It wasn't my mind playing tricks on ne. But, It happened only in 3 races in 6 months.

Ok, Race A is a blast. I tried the Porsche and LFA. Fell in love with the LFA, unsurprisingly, and JUST missed breaking into the 3's after a couple laps. Felt bold, went racing.

Was on pole with another 2:04.022 qt'er (love when that happens) but something must have happened in the prior race...lots of 'payback' comments in the pre-race chat, lol. Anticipating the worst I pretty much watched the rearview exclusively until we made it through the tunnel. As expected, the rearview was nothing but a cloud of smoke and car parts at the entry. Fortunately, the A+ that started in P7 made it through and we had a great race. Tagged the wall onto the front straight the final lap and had to settle for P2. 👍

Pickin' up pace at Spa, now I just need time to run it. Race B is further concreting my dislike of Gr.4. Used to be my favorite but got too jacked-up on Gr.3's. The magic is gone.🤣

I still haven't had a wet race yet! Been looking forward to it every day, as my dry track pace is never very good at Spa - fastest in-race lap by the guy on pole in one race today was 3 seconds faster than my QT!

I had a GREAT race C last night, albeit disappointing.

I led the way until lap 6 when the rain started to fall. Weather radar said heavy rain was coming, so I went full wets right away. The rest of the field went one lap more and swapped to inters, and some tried to go an extra lap, it didn't end well for those guys.

I was going great, but it was too dry for full wets and I chewed them up, so I had to stop a second time. With new full wets, I started catching all the guys on inters even though I was a full stop behind the leaders. It's now mid race.

I blew through the field with the extra stability and grip of full wets during the monsoon of a downpour. I finally caught the leader with 4 laps to go. I was 0.7 seconds back....and the sun came out. On a drying track, his inters were simply better than my full wets. I finished second by about 3 seconds.

Have to share my distaste for RBR at the moment, dive bombers who out brake themselves! What are you doing? How do you expect it to stick when you go off! Rarr 🤨

It’s almost like ppl start on pole have nothing else on their mind but to win at all costs and can’t allow a pass when they make a mistake

Rant over 😁

You can see it coming, so over under it. brake slightly earlier, let them fly on by, and pass them on the exit.

Dropped my QT down to a 1:38.060, and hopped into some Race B action with the NSX Gr.4. Let's rebuild that B/B SR*!

*Spoiler alert:

caddyshack-judge.gif

Race 1: Started P13. Experienced "some" unnecessary contact. Finished P15 (last).

Race2 : Started P14. Capitalized on people taking each other out. Got a bump that pushed me wide at the final corner on the last lap, lost a place, and collected a 0.5 second penalty. Finished P10.

Race 3: Started P9. Got pinballed into another driver at Turn 3 on Lap 1 and collected a 2.0 second penalty. Finished P9.

Controversial moment. I passed the Huracan at Turn 3 on the final lap, and immediately went defensive heading into Turn 4:

Race 4: Started P14. Had a decent gap to the cars behind me, so I could relax and drive. Finished P11.

Dropped my QT down to a 1:37.823.

Race 5: Started P8. Had another decent gap to the cars behind me. Finished P6.

Still rated B/B. Frustrating race day. I know the track. I know the car. I should be quicker. Ah well, it's only Thursday. Plenty of time to chip away at my QT and start higher up. Finishing 60% of my races P10 or better isn't terrible, but it's difficult being clean and consistent when the racing is so sloppy at the rear of the field. 😤

2:17.5 is a great time!

Pretty much all my wet races have been disastrous - fun, but still disastrous results

Agreed, that time would get pole in my races (I am mid C )
I chose a different strategy, I do not qualify and start from rear and I've seen the types that just quit easily if things go sideways for them which will usually jump my position 5+ spots and I'm sort of good enough to pass a few others and I've been finishing around P5 from a start at P12 or further back.
Because of this I am now close to getting B by end of week...
