I always load the top ghost to help me gain more time in qualy laps. The top guy, I'm actually about a car length ahead before the last chicane but then lose around 1.5 seconds in comparison in final 2 turns 🫣 I'm convinced it's because I'm a controller user and not wheel but maybe it's to lessen the pain/ hurt my ego 😅😂🤣🤪
What’s your delta for sector 2. Mine was about 44.1 I think.

Will check in the morning as watching tv now but I remember coming under the billboard before the chicane, managed to go down to 43.8 after a while as was averaging 44.1 before too. Braking early and shifting down to 4th late down the hill, half gas and then slamming it as the apex is in sight !

Nice. That thing is a rocket at RBR.

Gr3 BoP has improved. It is possible to be competitive in the Z4, M6 and the 911 (yes, seriously) as well. The Jag feels alright too but I haven’t tried it in a race.

Im going to try to get some more races in with volkswagon and that M6, see if i can get my breaking areas better, problem is that being in middle of pack invites mayhem behind you, especially when they are in that meta wrx, they think they better than you and should have privilege to run you off or you best move & lay out red carpet for em lol

Don't know if this is just me or not but I actually really don't like being A+ - the lobbies are 95% the dominant car, and everyone is so bloody quick it's ridiculous.

I can put ages into trying to get a good quali time, hop into an actual race and I'm 15th even though its a top 500 time, it's crazy. I don't have the time or patience to play to the point where I can match their pace so I just sort of trundle around and finish 12th or so repeatedly - eventually I get into a lower split lobby, but get a podium/win and get bumped right back up. Vicious cycle of an A+ lol.
I know what u mean even though I'm only a B rating. I even tried to intentionally lower my ratings to a C to see if I could get better races. It is really hard to drop down to C. I tried retiring from 5-6 races in a row, then finished a bunch of them last and I'm still at B. Do I need to ram into people so I get a DR reset? Jeez.

Just tried the z4 and the wrx at rbr. 29.9 and 29.4 respectively, there's more in the z4 though. Come race time, o dunno, wrx spooks me under power.

I dropped from B to c last night after about 6 or 7 races of finishing 9th to last. My Dr was only about a 3rd of the way up tge bar though.

Really struggling with this circuit on race b so far. Those 2 tricky turns... not taking them well consistently so far...

Need to watch some videos and put more time in on the track....

Trying out the Mustang at Red Bull Ring this week. It seems to be fine so far and I need more time with it to find the limits of the car. I did try the Supra that I saw in the top times, but like Sport not my favorite to drive. I'm at a 1:30.3XX so far and know I can find .3 seconds to get to a 1:29.XXX. I forgot how much of a pain the track limits on T1 are and that's going to be my downfall this week.

Since the last patch, the Supra has been really good... maybe even a bit too good... but as long as the WRX is that strong, I can live with it... The Supra drives great... as far as I can currently with the pad great brakes and above all plenty of power. On the straight, the Supra even defeats the Jaguar in longitudinal dynamics... and that's not easy. I can wholeheartedly recommend him alongside the Jaguar.

For DR rating, I feel like is quite easy to change DR rating, I managed to get from B to D by rage quitting, then back up to B within a week. Though my problem is that, apart from not being very fast, I tend to do my practice in race so I have spend the first couple nights at the back end, eventually I get good and start getting podiums and then get back to B in time for the next week. Rinse and repeat.

I understand the want to be at the right skill level, could be really fun. Had a win in Race C where the leader got punted by a silly driver in turn 2 in the first lap, allowing me to take the lead. Then it was a cat and mouse with the former leader in the Supra as I tried to put in fast laps (relatively) and build a gap. Then as I drive more conservatively, the Supra (who would had galloped away probably as they are faster than me) started eating away at my lead. 4 seconds turned to 2.5, so at lap 8 I had to hurry up again and push slightly. Gap stabilised back at 3 seconds, then lap 10 they really started to push and I started missing my braking points a bit trying to match and by lap 12 (Final lap) he was 1.5 seconds behind. They probably misjudged in turn 1, giving me a 2 second gap and breath a lot easier to the finish. Almost zero car to car action, but equally it was very gripping.

Having races with clean drivers in C/B DR is really fun. They aren't so fast and consistent that they won't routinely get laps within 0.1 seconds difference of each other, and when they push, they really can gain time time on you but the mistakes can also creep in. Also kudos to the BoP, my Mustang didn't feel overpowered or underpowered. I feel this is what we kinda just want; while there will always be a meta car, is great to just pick a car and be at least competitive.

The beetle got down to a 29.8 but gave the z4 another whirl and 29.4 so just that tenth to the wrx for me, so no brainer use the more reliable z4 on the races tonight.

The mustang and supra both felt like they had laps in them but the stang was just too easy to spin up the rears for me and the supra dipped into the 29s but I wasn't going to find another half second with it.

You've tempted me into giving the Z4 a whirl when I'm next on

Reminder I am ham-fisted, D-pad, X and box buttons. So a proper DR-A driver will be better off in something a bit more nimble like the WRX or beetle or Supra at most tracks. What the Z4 does, is allows me to lay on the gas much earlier than the other cars with TC0, it's not QUITE as ultimately fast as those cars I mentioned but it's close enough and relatively safe. Plus it sounds proper epic.

I feel your pain and can relate. There were instances where I did “tryhard” and push DR as hard as I could (made it a goal to get it as high as possible in GT Sport and tried to maximise the results on certain circuits I very much love, such as Big Willow among other goals).

That said, usually I belong more to the anti crowd and prefer distancing myself from the tryhard sheep, instead trying to find enjoyment in driving something different. It gets so old very fast going META a whole week. The problem up there is you’re more often than not “forced” to use it if you want to keep up and potentially achieve something in the race besides cruising home last (well, depending on which car you used to qualify of course).

The 4th and 8th would have gained you Dr, unless it somehow put you in a lobby full of d rated people
Yeah, top ten usually nets you DR but for whatever reason, this is what happened. Oh, but I do remember quitting a race, as well. But it sent me nearly halfway down B, which I thought was a bit much.

Had a decent race in Race C. B/S lobby. Quali P13 and worked my way up to P7.
Now this is what I want from online racing. Good clean battles. Caught P6 on lap 9 and we had a great battle for the last 3 laps. Managed to get ahead of him at T3 but coming down the hill they regained the position into T4. Next lap got a great exit at T1 running up the hill and was side by side. They was just ahead and I thought about the lung up inside but was maybe too cautious into T3. Last lap tried a few lines to get past and on the infield section I got a great run out T7 & T8 and again side by side, and I was on the outside, so tried to switchback into T9 & T10. Had a collision in T10 but both finished. I was P7 and they finished P6. Happy with the result, maybe should have had P6, but racing incident for me.

T10 incident. Maybe the corner was mine, maybe not. What do you think?

This vid is just the last 3 laps of the battle.

Im so over the B/B crowd i keep getting matched with even though my sr is S, they are way too aggressive & will push you off in them curves with no hesitation, i pride myself in being able to use multiple non meta cars & finish in top 5 with them on race B but without the penalty system we had, there is no punishment for their dirtyness and im the one penalized for trying to race clean by getting horrible results, i know alot say the old penalty was bad but it cant be worse than how it is now with hardly any penalties, even on punting people.. I literally cringe & want to leave races when i see B/B & B/C drivers in lobby with me

Oh man... I just had some interesting races.. first with my main driver... and then with my 2nd... what a race.. I was very sorry that I filmed that one driver "Andy". I also apologized to him afterwards... and he was cool about it. But it really went haywire...

For me, a racing accident like it is in the textbook.... It was stupid but happened... For me it is not clear who could/should have reacted differently.

Can't believe I'm saying this but I think I'm done with Sport Mode unless they fix the penalty logic 😢💔

All day I drive clean, if the guy in front makes a mistake and I can squeeze him out and take his place, I don't because I'm not an a-hole. If we are in a fast corner, i give space if I'm leading or give way if chasing.

Last 6 races (!!!!) I start 4th or 3rd and best finish i got was 11th!! Really, 11th 😤 and it's not because I'm slow, it because people exploit the new rules and either shove you off or ram you out a corner whilst using you as a brake!

If 20 people did this to me today, only 1 got a penalty!! And obviously with the loss of momentum, making my way back to the track and damage from hitting the barriers, it doesn't matter as I go from 1 second from leader to 15 seconds and 11 places down.

Not fair, irritating and infuriating! Not willing to stoop down to the level of the donkeys so will not play Sport until they fix it. Which makes me sad as I love the challenge against others 😢 will only do qualy laps but not race just to keep myself sharp..#brokenheart
