Hmm, the new races aren't good enough to go back to GT7. Suzuka GR.3 is decent but has been the most used combo in GT Sport. For using Suzuka so much I'm puzzled why Suzuka West is still not in GT. I just came accross that in Forza 7 (and it started raining as well) much more fun than Suzuka East.

Anyway the full track is a good circuit, yet after having driven it so often in GT Sport, driving it now in GT7 with less cars on tracks and all the new problems with GT7, just meh.

Trial Mountain is my favourite track. I hope it isn’t a mess in reverse like Deep Forest was.

i think it’s interesting to do in trial - it’s like trying to write with your “wrong” hand”. I suspect it will make for interesting races, but also a lot of accidents. Unfortunately I am wayyyy off the top times and it’ll be awhile before I’m able to do consistent splits.

So i guess race A is permanently wreckfest?!? I really don't understand this. Now people like myself who prefer road cars, which this series is built on, have no race options.

I've really been trying to stay positive with this game as i do love a lot about it, and am confident the rest will get worked out, but, man.....

I do believe being forced to put the game on ps4 seriously messed up the development of this game, and noidea why they didn't push the release date.

But it reallyseems like there is less and less here for me to enjoy as we move forward, not the more and more i expected.

Anyway, race B might be interesting, oh no wait, i don't enjoy the Subaru so i guess no point to that race either....
I am hopeful that there is no No DR/SR again this week is due to it being a dirt race and that it won't become the norm. They did say they are testing, so we will see. I was a race "A" guy myself in Sport, just been too busy with work to really dive into 7's online racing. Which is why I haven't seen a lot of you guys, that and some drives I know have moved onto PS5 and I'm still on PS4.

I do think they should have delayed the game until Fall or Winter. There is clearly work to be done, some of tis testing could have been done in bate like they did with Sport. The game clearly isn't finished, but they would have heard an up roar if they delayed the game or if they released an incomplete game to be updated down the road. We got the latter, but there was really no wining for them once that release date was given.

I believe the game will be fine by Fall/Winter, which kinda sucks for us who purchased the game at launch. Part of me wishes PD stuck to their guns and pushed deeper into the online/Esports racing that Gt Sport originally was. While I like the single player and I love the custom race stuff, I make a lot of little endurance races. Once I got into a routine, racing with all of you on a regular bases, I wanted to do nothing else in the game. Moving forward, I think Sport needs to be a separate game or a completely separate mode that can be accessed from the top menu, like where you see music rally. Kinda how arcade mode and GT mode use to be. Not something you have to play hours to unlock and I think PD has began to released this. Adding the ability to rent cars for each race and not needing to buy them was a great move. I skipped so many races because I either could not afford the car, modded the car beyond the restrictions or the required car was no longer in the used car lot. Now I can jump into any online race without worrying digging through my garage to see if I can even race this week (unless I want a custom livery)

It feels as though the single player content is the focus right now to finish up for them. Which is a given since so many players asked for it after GT Sport limited content in that area. They may be trying to please too many people with the single content and the online racing stuffed into one game like this. I hope once they start focusing the Sport mode and the lobbies that the games reaches the potential that we all know it has. Because I happy to get back into it more regular once I have the time again.

What time do you have so far?
I started with a 2:07 and got down to a 2:02.9xx.

sounds familiar! That’s about where I started, and got to 2:03.1 (2:01.8 now*) in the Alfa. ran a horrible lap in the GTR so I’ll focus on the 155 I think.

I’m pretty sure I can find 1 second, but another 2-3 seems impossible (the top Alfa time is 1:59.4). Im one positive result from A+ but I’m not sure this will be the week I get it.

* I just watched the top Alfa lap… they hit the wall a few times! Seems obvious to me that should be penalized - what’s to disincentivize driving past the limit?

Just did a no stop in the Jag in race C. Won by over 5 seconds to a no stopping BRZ. Boy the Jag is nice to drive around Suzuka. The tyres are pretty second hand by the end though.

The key in upper splits is to let the stoppers by without a fight to avoid any unintentional shenanigans.
So its a no stop race with these two cars? Sigh. Did you have to save fuel in the jag? If so where do I shift?

you can no stop the ferrari also running between 3-6 the whole race however the tires on the final two laps have beaten me twice now for multiple spin outs

I tried no stop in the Jag at race c, that is not much fun, tires have been absolutly destroyed in the end, spin off two times. But it is possible doing short shifting with fuel map 1 and 2.

I will stay with the beetle did a 2:00:1** and a 1:59 seems possible... The car handles so well and has decent top speed.

Daily C is just turning into a fuel saving no-stop with the BRZ. It's like PD tried to make a race with some strategy and failed.

I am trying to do qualifying in the Corvette and I swear, I can't feel anything. It's like I'm driving on air. I know GT is known for having poor FFB but is it even more pronounced on this track (Suzuka)? It's probably just me, as I haven't played in a few days.

Got on last night after really not bothering with Dailies that much for a while. Decided to take out the Alfa 155 because I've never gotten on with the WRX and kind of sick of hearing about it. Man the Alfa was fun. And the track was ok to time trial but stressful in a fun way with having to really send it on some semi-blind apexes for the speed.

Didn't get my timing right so didn't have a qualifying time for my first race and it was rough. People bouncing off the walls and swerving, not dirty, just messy. Struggling to leave room or turning in if I was already there or sometimes just sliding wide. Not bad, but bumpy. Managed to set a time and got entered in with some friends who started up a voice chat.

And had an absolute blast!

A couple of them in the mid pack area had trouble with 1 or 2 sketchy drivers but for the most part it was fantastic clean racing. With friends and with the players I didn't really know prior. 2 wide in all sorts of places, nice clean passes both ways, space left. But flat out fast as hell and fun racing. I hadn't known how much I needed that after the last few weeks. Hadn't had it in World Series races except for 1, they were mostly get stuck in your gap and lap alone or very messy. The last daily I did was Daytona in Group C and it was just a car control special leaving you often on your own.

I know not everyone will get the same experience as the mid pack can accordion into a bit of a shambles, but I had a great night and those are the kind of nights that definitely keep me in the game. (and hearing the Jag is one of the beasts for Race C has me excited too, except for the Suzuka part. My Baby is Back!)

I had the same problem the other day in career mode. I haven't tried Suzuka, but do not expect if to be different. I had to turn the engine noise way down and tire noise was up to feel somewhat comfortable.

At least I'm not alone. It's really hindering my qualify time. I'll have to skip Race C this week and everyone here made it sound like Race B was a wreckfest last week so I expect no better this week.

This weeks guide :)!

Thanks for guided 👍🏻
One issue I have is around 18.23 you say you should qualify in a different car and then use the Subaru as the race. Should the game stop this sort of thing from happening? I know its all a bit of fun and just a racing game but I’d like to see your quali time reset if you swap to a different car.

Disappointed to see a few here saying Race C has just turned into a fuel save race. Ive not done the race c yet but what’s the time difference between pitting and fuel saving?

I've got my SLS time on Race B down to 2:01.1, with a 2:00.5 if I can get all the sectors on the same lap.

I might try to improve it later in the week, depending where that starts me tomorrow in the races.

Exactly my thoughts today, I would prefer if you have to qualify with each car you are going to use in the race. So you can no longer have a special car for quali and race. If you want to race in the Subaru than you have to qualify in that car or start from behind... what in this case is nearly the same ;)

This will just make sure races are all one make.

Group 4 provides so much side by side racing. Could be great. Unfortunately people can’t or won’t give space and adjust their lines
Race C has a tendency to be much cleaner in my experience. Last week was great in that regard. If I can get my qualify time down a few more tenths, I'll give Suzuka a try but I'm not huge on fuel saving, to be honest. Not opposed to it, though, of course.

Race C is usually much cleaner but I’ve never raced Suzuka so I’d have to learn a whole new track (which takes me a while especially well enough to get a top half qualy) only to run it as a fuel saver so I’m not really drawn to it. Maybe if Race B ends up as a mess I’ll put the work in.

Do it. It's one of the best tracks in the game, in my opinion. You're pretty damn fast from what I've seen so I say you bite the bullet and show us what you can do lol.
