So Glen, how areyuou coming along at Barcelona and Daytona?
Not my thing this week Chris, in my normal lobbies it's super tight and I'm not the strongest in Spain, also not the greatest with the supra but I do enjoy TT and the Porsche for A this week is like catnip

If I tried I could probably find some performances but it's just not as fun as balancing a car on the throttle 2 inches from Armco. As you know I don't usually do A races but I love these cars on tracks where you can race.

But this is all ok, I'm pretty fast at TM and Nurbs GP so next week I'll be doing ranking events.

I'd written a whole bunch of words about DR and and daily A etc

But having done the whole week of them this sums it up pretty much.

This muppet almost ruined my race however managed to get back to first.

You can't race against people that can't even drive and this is a YT er who didn't even bother finishing.
Pretty funny, that was a perfect, bowling 7-10 split. He looks to be mad at the entire world. I looked him up, he’s a C-C driver. A grid that ranges from A to C can be tough, you get all kinds in a race like that.

It's not even racing John, I get ability spread and it can get a bit chaotic but rocking up from the back and not even braking. I mean not to you but come on, we aren't even playing the same game in online if that's their approach.

The thing that annoys me the most is it's ok to go from the back to figure things out, or practice race stuff but to go from the back and quit when you can't even brake for the first hairpin on a Sunday. It's thoroughly ridiculous quite frankly.

He didn't even out brake himself, his self awareness was so poor. I mean Jesus f Christmas

Sunday racing concludes and it’s been a belter I have to say, race B at B.B/A has been a pleasure, a few wins, started enjoying it once I got in the G70.

Attached is a video I made of the win that shouldn’t have been, the epitome of me shooting myself in the foot, mad last couple of laps.

Excuse my terrible editing ability hopefully the content is worth the watch.

What a race! That was epic! Not sure about the hairpin love move ;)

I watched the rest of the race.

He blamed PD for picking the "stupid reverse track" because he didn't know it.

How about... driving it in practice mode a bit first then, rather than just going into live races on a track you don't know and screwing it up for others?

I know. It's really weird that they have a whole free practice/time trial mode in race conditions to do a lap or two...

Apologies for the filter avoiding annoyance but even now, I'm raging. Clumsy/silly is ok and I get but that stuff doesn't belong on daily races regardless if it's A or C or B.

I've breathed a bit now so calm is restored but just sigh

@newmedia_dev

Another factor which I've thought about this week in particular for Race A, and in general. If there's a player who lives in Race A, so to speak, they could well be A- level or better but you would never know because they've just been hammering non ranked the whole time.

In this sense, Race A being unranked kinda ruins the matchmaking.
That is true, flip that a little and you have an a ranked player at the front 2s ahead at least on QT yet I'm still out braked... but not really out braked because I'm there so it doesn't matter because 🤷‍♂️ you can go faster not braking?

There is a lot of players who could be better and achieve more but in these lobbies I don't think they care. That's ok cause peeps do peeps and we are playing a different game.

Mine is the long game, winning a daily A on my US alt account isn't going to bother me that much to be fair.

I expect better quality from people buying a racing game.

"Respect the sport"

That probably applies to everyone who takes the time to post on this forum.

That guy obviously doesn't respect the sport. It sucks when those guys surface.

I'm going to miss that Tokyo race A, it had a little bit of everything. I made a few new friends, learned of who isn't very friendly, I even got to battle a Gran Turismo world champion for a win!

Hopefully PD don't make us wait 2 years for the next race here, I would quite like to see it as a race B/C with sensible slipstream settings too. The chaos of the extreme settings has been ridiculously good fun this week but it's a genuinely fun circuit to drive in its own right, especially the middle sector where you have to skim the barriers to get the most out of it, that in a Gr3 car would be a blast!

Here are my favourite bits from the week:

Disappointed my absolutely crapping myself when you wanted to drift it round didn't make the playlist!

🤣 I should've tried that in your car, the 911 should be a lot better at getting the rear out than the Lexus with it's perfect handling!

I cut a lot of stuff out because everything seemed to happen in one corner that race, I didn't want a full video of turn 1 stuff.

Just a quick share (belated) of my peak this week at Daytona...

This was about as good as it got for me. There was quite a high replay-to-race ratio this week as nearly every race was entertaining and full of action. I think I did around 15 races (thanks 3 days off), and I saved & shared about 12 of them, which is a good metric (many replays in my Showcase, for those interested in the highlights).

I feel like I've learnt a lot about Group 3 racing, transferring the techniques from the Mazda Touring Car race we had a few months ago here, but transposing them to a more powerful car, realising it's all the same skillset but applied differently.

Something about this circuit just clicks for me because let's face it, I'm pretty terrible at Group 3!

Well guys, I'm wrapping up my last set of races at Barcelona this evening. I'll check back in later. Wish me luck. Thank you all for your support to keep me going.

EDIT: Oh no! My race from the 12:50am slot froze when that race was beginning. I'm getting ticked off about this. I have to close the application and then it sends me to a blue screen asking me to report the issue. This has happened many times.

Me too. Unfortunately it isn't the case, I've start to make my mind about it. Especially after a weekend where I was rammed in Tokyo several times (at first arpin, starting basically always between the first three positions; mostly from pole), from let's say "unfriendly drivers". Barcelona was way better from this point of view, I mean, in all races i've been I was never kicked, touched, rammed or kissed from anybody, having really fair races there. Tokyo was a nightmare, I managed only two or three "clean race bonus" in all week.

My S rating went back down to A. I must admit I did some of the bashing later in the week because I got fed up of being sent into a wall. Also there were some circumstances where someone would try overtaking you on a corner only for your car to understeer into them, which you just can't help.

Oh yes, two Gr3 races this week both with increased reward. Don't think I've seen that before.

Well unfortunately it's another weird combo, two Group 3 races and 1 Group 4 cup, but the rewards are increased by 600% for the A and C races so that should bribe a lot of people. I did a total of 18 races at Barcelona, I despise the first turn because if you go real fast you will miss the turn and run into the sand. But why am I blabbering about it now, it's over. Phew!! I think PD is losing it's style with how they choose their track and car combos. After all the game will be 3 years old in March of 2025.

Just had a few quick goes at DR A. Hate the 911 as it's just a spinning machine and didn't fancy it in all the traction zones here so used my BMW from the Manu Cup. I love this track if I can find the right car! Going to try in the Aston later as I did won here in that car in a previous world series event.

1st race - qualified 11th, was upto into 5th by the final corner. 2nd lap a clown decided to ram me in the final corner (hit for the 4th time in 2 laps by the same driver), luckily I caught it on the brakes and was only sideways rather than backwards, slowing him down just as much as me. Next lap I was 10th he was 9th, so I took him out for revenge as my race was done anyway. Red mist - dont care. Finished 9th after a couple of drop outs.

2nd race - started 8th, finished 6th, some really good racing in the mid pack. Getting used to this car/track combo now.

3rd race - started 3rd after knocking half a sec off my Qualy time, would have finished 3rd but I binned it at the end of the back straight on lap 4 putting a wheel onto the grass in the braking zone, my own stupid fault. Finished 4th easily though

2/3 enjoyable races. Will try the others later! Rarely do race A but the credit bonus is a decent incentive.

Managed a quick race B this lunch time, thought id start off with the g70 this week, I have to say I love this track in reverse, reminds me of doing it when the mazda3 was the meta and I loved it then.

Just a totally harsh penalty line being up the hill, total race wrecker. Thankfully I didn’t experience it did see a few ppl disappear whilst serving

2.03.xxx after a few laps and was a second up before the race starts so lots left to go at.

Ran three sessions of Daily Race A today and since I'm busy for the week due to job hunting, I'll be racing less this week but my eyes are on Race A this week because I really want to master Interlagos with the Gr.3 cars as it haunted me since Sport that I can't get this combo right.

First session - Pole position. It was an uneventful race as the New Zealander B rated player decided to act as a wall throughout the race and that allowed me to break away into my first win of this combo. And yes I never scored a win in this combo yet until now.

Second session - Once again pole position but this time I was kind of challenged by the Aussie Mustang driver but sadly his pace dropped by lap 4 and from there it was another win.

Third session - The Aussie driver once again got queued with me but this time he went with the AMG GT3 '16 and I was like "were you trying to figure out the capabilities of the AMG GT3 because if you are that's the wrong AMG GT3 you got there" and I was right as he was curious to know the potential of the car. Race begins and just like last race, he went at it on me again until he oofed up Descida do Lago on lap 2 and from there my nearest challenger was one of the Huracan drivers and at the last lap on the last corner I went oofed up the track limits and I got myself a 1 sec penalty for that. Thankfully I had a two second gap but it would've been oof.

Actually glad to see Group 4 or Group 3 in Race A this week, can get in an older race car and use the new sequential shifter in anger in a Sport race and not have to worry about places or losing DR. Think Logitech have done a great job, has a good punch to it and with the gear change audio in the old Gr3 Skyline for example gives some decent immersion.

Hello everyone
So since my last week's experience driving around Daytona RC was surprisingly a pleasant one, I decided to play the early bird trying to catch the worm and gave daily C a run.
And yet again it was an absolute great experience.
Same as last week, no stupidity or pointless shenanigans.
Clean, fair and competitive racing at its finest.
Don't know exactly what happened to the mindset of all these drivers but it was an absolute joy to hustle around the infamous Nürburgring GP.
Yet again I met a lots of familiar faces and I assume we all were having a hell of a good time.
I had time to squeeze in 6 or 7 races and what shall I say, very very nice racing.
Although I'm not a huge fan of these super short races it still works as a quicky.
These dailies actually feel like a McDonald's Menu.
Quick, short and convenient fun.
Not the gourmet type of food but good enough to please your hunger for a short period.
Wish you all good luck out there and as always, keep it clean 😁
