I have one more question to all of you: in the current daily C race (or other similar), do you change tyres? Or just pit and cancel everything?

A prime example here what you can get away without penalty currently. Apparently that is not "pushing another off the track". Well to be fair I kind of drove off the track after he turned me sideways. 🤷 Im once again not surpriced of the flag on top of that GT-R. Is this something they teach (that its ok) in schools down there? Thats why i call them "spanish kisses".. can be expected 90% of the time if that flag is near.




Seems like an accident. The Renault jumps so erratically to left that its either lag or controller..

About my video, I agree, that's possible. The Renault behaved way too strange.

About your video, that was either very dirty or the third contender bumped him into you. The game could really use some improvements to punish dirty side-pushing or leaning on turns, as well as some new physics to make the "victim" less screwed. Usually it takes one silly incident (one dirty or bad or sleepy man) to throw away a whole race, specially the daily C races, because it usually becomes wasted precious time of the day.

Most time to be had is in the left, right, left at the bottom of the hill. You can straight line that when you get it right. Use ALL the curbs. Right wheels on the left handed, left wheels on the right hand and then right wheels on the second left hand.

I turn in on 3rd gear and usually shift to 4 th just before hitting the second left turn.

This is a lot easier to judge in VR. I could never get it right in bumper cam view as you lose the positional awareness of the car for such balanced driving. At least that is what I found.

I've been watching a few VR replays on YT and definitely think that it's a much better way to position the car (micro corrections, coasting better)

But one thing that struck me from watching the replays is the sense of speed is so so different to my bumper cam, does it feel "slower" ie you have more time in VR?

Both strategies works this week.
If you get stuck in a traffic jam early in the race with slower cars ahead, the best strategy is to pit inmediatly (no tyre change) to get some clean air.

If you have a similar pace with the rest of the pack, I preffer to change tyres at the middle of the race because Im not very good saving tyres.
It also depends on what car are you racing and your driving style.
The RS01 can make a stint of 10 laps in a much better shape that the 911 for example.

I would say that it feels less frenetic. Perhaps it does feel slower but as you perceive you have more time to plan and position, but obviously it is not slower; I'm driving as fast or faster than I was in my 2D days. But the way the world is presented around you in a 1:1 viewport rather than a small telly screen, gives your brain the depth perception and I think the speed to react that you don't get in 2d.

Watching YT replays doesn't do it justice.

On a slightly different subject I watched this video

earlier in the week and made changes to my controller settings that appeared to improve my driving of the Huracàn as well. The video has a super annoying AI voice and generated clips but in short:

1. Switch vibration off
2. Set controller steering sensitivity to 10
3. Set force feedback sensitive to 1
4. and for my DD GT Pro at 8NM with a 330mm RS wheel I run max torque at 7.

I also upped my brake force settings for my V2 pedals from 65 to 70 so I reduced the chance of over powering the brakes and sliding out. As to the actual wheel settings I left those as-is as I pretty much love them. May not be the most sensitive settings but they feel realistic to me and I'm used to them. Happy to share later if anyone is interested (though I know wheel settings are very personal preferences).

I dabbled here and there with the BB, but here's what you do: +5 (to the rear), and then just figure out how to counter with the throttle when you feel the rear starts to think about sliding out. No counter steering, that doesn't work. Well, small corrections perhaps, but if you need to compensate more than a few degrees, then you're done. Evidently a well known 4WD rally thing.

I don't know if I'm the last on this one, but that worked for me at least. I'm not like the top 100, but this style got me to 300 something, 1.39.6. Now I'm 3'rd on my friends list (and you are there already mr Malta Saab ).

On a different topic: Is it a new trend to be passive aggressive in comments lately? A few people I've seen this week says "Let's have a clean race" - after the race. Is that code for: "You were dirty"? And no, before you ask; not at me, I'm almost always CRB unless I'm on the grass by myself, and been S since the beginning.

I always put it down to contextually incorrect translations when converted to English (assuming their screen is showing their home language). That or people who just don't know grammar.

But you could be right, these kids and their weird sense of humour.

You're brave. I dabbled there and decided BB to the rear was suicidal.

Really? Because it was my understanding that if a car has its engine towards the back, the BB is best set towards the front, especially in examples like the Porsche 911 RSR. Or was that just for MR/RR cars? Whereas the Huracan Gr.4 is 4WD.

I tried with BB biased to the front and while it makes the rear more stable, I found a tendency to push the front and understeer if you put too much brake in. In the end I left the car stock with BB at 0 and like it like that. Rear is not (too) unstable under braking and the front doesn't push. Of course I'm about a 1000 places behind @skandiamannen on the leaderboard so what do I know!
