I tried a few laps with it last night but I'm very rusty, I really like it but I cannot seem to get the brake balance right, any suggestions? I'm home alone tonight with no baby so I should be able to get some good practice in. I also tried the GTR, felt really good but lap times didn't reflect it. The Lambo is good but again I'm struggling with braking. I just don't have as much time these days and it's showing 🙈🙈 saying that, the megane around goodwood is great, I definitely can get to 1.24's with a few more laps

I use the forward 2/3 BB in most of the cars as it suits my braking style.

The Lambo is an odd one really, MR & 4WD but the engine is so far towards the center it's weird.

But the only tips I can give is the braking to the up hill Esses isn't as much as you think, just enough to drop a gear and power up the hill as smooth as possible. Ignore the ghosts and people cutting all the curbs, you don't need to to be fast. Same for T1/2 just time your gear shift for the best exit.

Obviously running the sausage curb (right hander T3?) the trick to that is to not put the car in the middle off it but cut it more. It VR it's easier as I just turn early and put it under my side of the car (left hand drive)

The corner after is super rewarding to get right, turn in way way tighter to the tire wall at the apex. If you look at the track tire markings that gives you a really nice line.

I think the biggest issue is that those sorts of cars/races really handicap anyone who uses Automatic Transmission

I might be being a strange fellow here, but doesn't every race handicap auto transmission? Since I made the switch about two years ago I am massively faster. I can't think of a race / TT where auto was quicker or even as quick from a competitive sense?

Unless I'm missing something and AT is competitive in certain scenarios?

Generally yes. But for example TTs that use EVs that are all CVT so it's not a carte Blanche thing.

But for most races and TTs using AT will hold you back, but this is caveated as you can be fast using AT and in dailies be competitive.

But we have to remember that competition is relative to the field, and things like some of the assists as well as AT will help people be competitive for the field they are in.

Less aids will make people faster, not because aids hold you back but you get smoother driving the cars so they wouldn't even trigger.

But short answer is most races in dailies aren't doing AT or assist users many favours, especially in GR4, GR3 I can see a bit of TC helping consistency but the rest are surplus after time.

I'll be at Dragon Trail this week as this is one of my favorite tracks. I started in the NSX for qualifying and set a base time. I then tried the GT-R and wasn't a fan of it. Then the Huracan and that was not working with the way I drive. I settle with the NSX and eventually set a time of 1:47.6XX.

My first race of the evening had me P5 on the grid and it was a full elbows out race. Everyone seemed desperate to move up no matter what they did. Tons of contact and questionable dives made for a rough go at it. No CoD wrecks for me and I finish P8.

My second race has down in P7 and thanks to some chaos I find myself in P4. Unfortunately the NSX being unable to catch a Huracan and me going deep a few times I can't gain any ground and stay in P4. A much less elbows out race this time.

My third and final race has me P5 and very similar to the first race. I fall a bit behind due to mistakes and not being able to catch Huracans and I stay in P5. But, when they hit the wall in the CoD on the final lap, I can sneak by and nab a spot to finish P4.

So, a wonderfull start to my week. I'm going to try and get my time down a bit as I know where I'm losing time and that should get me higher on the grid this week.

At Sardegna do you guys also see graphical glitches like flickering trees and trees that change color or is there something going wrong on my end? It happens every lap so its pretty distracting.

I noticed that, too. Trees flash yellow, etc.

Hi guys, first run in Sardegna yesterday in the 911. I have some "attachment" to this track, cause is the first where I raced few months ago with the wheel (even if totally wrong set, I could learn and use the right settings just from Nurb24). The reverse layout is even more challenging than the normal one due to those sketchy braking zones at 2nd hairpin and last corner. The 1st corner flat gives me shivers (same as last one at HSR with the R92). Got an 1:40.1, keeping the BB on purpose lil toward the rear just to get used to the instability that this gives in braking. It will be useful when racing (with the proper BB), during neck to neck situations that will put me out of ideal line. To start race i need to get consistently down to 1:38 high/39 low. I'll be probably starting again mid pack in mixed A+/A/B lobbies, as it was in HSR. After two weeks of struggle with the brake and my back pain that left me "parked" in the box, it may be the time where I finally rank up to DR A.

All normal here, didn't notice any. I'll check again tonyt, but so far so good.

Monday at Dragon Trail was reasonably civilised, Tuesday complete carnage! People ramming, sideswiping, divebombing without regard for the consequences.

Whilst trying my hardest to stay out of it, it was impossible to avoid everything. I got caught in my third race with a 3 second penalty for passing under yellows when the guy in front drove straight into the wall at the COD - not passing him wasn't an option. The other side of the COD there were cars scattered across the track, I caught the rear of one of them, another 4 second penalty......

I had to do a whole lap with the shame of a 7 second penalty hanging over me - needless to say SR took a drop from S to A!

If it's possible, the next race was worse, and I finished up at SR B.

Don't hold much hope of today being any better operating at that SR level 😬

I actually decided to stay far from there, cause the combo track/car is highly prone to those type of situations (regardless if it's by mistakes or simple stupidity of drivers unaware of neither their limits, nor physics).

Yes it’s quite hard to stay out of trouble when everyone is driving like this,

I had the same last Saturday with Kyoto in gr3 I must have finished only 10% of races that day which is super frustrating

Too right, you have completely unintentional contact with other cars, and pick up penalties and/or SR drops as a result.

Yes, Kyoto was similar in some respects. I did have a shock in my final race on Sunday though - started 12th, avoided all the carnage, and found myself in the lead with 1 lap to go! Managed to hold it together, and even extended the gap to P2. My first win in months 🙂
