Thx guys, I was afraid it would be like this. Not that I'm a great driver, I usually struggle a lot in cars without ABS, but I still prefer a more realistic approach.

I do get the sentiment but online with lag and even in the "more considerate lobbies" car control and positioning varies wildly so these assists save other people as much as the person using them sometimes

Fair point, didn't think of that. But it's ok, no problem. I was almost 95% sure it would be like this before I asked here, 'cause it just seems to be the standard for GT7. I'm pretty sure that even those guys in the World Series Finales with the F40s and F50s use ABS. It as how it is and while less realistic it also makes those cars much more enjoyable to drive.

Hi guys, SSRX is a nice challenge for QT, while the race can be boring and dangerous at the same time. Funny to see how the fastest line is so different (total opposites) between the Merc and the Pagani. I'm at an 4:26.713 in the latter, just outside the best 100 QTs (0.141 from the fastest Huayra). I'll focus on Barcellona from tomorrow on since the old layout is my preferred one.

Yeah just the type of game GT7 is. Accessibility ranks over pure sim value, which is fair enough. You've got your iRacings etc. for pure sim value.

How is this possible? I saw this at end of a race last night, the person did not quit the race and he lost both DR & SR points in a race that "no adjustments will be made".

He quit out of a Race B/C and joined Race A before the previous race finished - so DR/SR changes hadn't yet updated and his pre-previous race DR/SR was displayed.

After the race, his previous race had also finished, allowing for complete post-race DR/SR change updates, and his "new" DR/SR from the end of that Race B/C is displayed.

This happened to me the other night. I got punted to Oblivion in Race B and quit on lap one.

I jumped into Race A straight away and my DR went down at the end of it, presumably a hangover from the above.

Yeah, not racing this week, lol. I'm too inconsistent at Laguna and one misstep sends you to the back. Barcelona I might try to spend some more time at but really not feelin' that one, either. We shall see....

One thing from last week I wanted to share/see if anyone else ran in to. Got a glitch lobby at Dragon. We were hanging/chatting for a bit and then everyone jumped into 'qualifying' for fun. Everyone got at least one full lap in while we waited. When the race FINALLY started (I got 2+ laps in) it reshuffled the five of us that were left into the order we qualified in during the lag period.

I didn't think GT did that but it was, hands down, one of the coolest glitches ever. Made me wish we had time to do that for EVERY race. Anyone else encounter this before?

Please PD, what I want for Xmas is a new Race D. To run every hour, cycling through a mix of different tracks and formula's each race. Separate qualifying for each race. Random fuel and tyre multipliers not published in advance, so we need to make up our strategies on the fly.

Not interested in racing though as I have been deleted from existence 99.99% of previous races at Laguna Seca this year and with all the times I have been ploughed, I al on the very edge of losing my S rating (SR) and don't want to get into races with even dirtier groups lol!

My time had me starting last in some lobbies 😮 I think pole guy was 5th in world on a 1:19.6?

I don't know how they get the times out of the BRZ - it feels ok to me to drive but I'm just slower in it.

I can imagine your race D implemented with 2 roulette spinners. One for tracks and another for cars.
5 mins for practice, 5 mins for qualy and a 30 mins race

It should be really fun!

However, Iam a lot less ambitious and I would be very happy if we just can return to a 20 cars grid like we used to have in GTS.

I have struggled lately with the daily races and some of the problem is that I have had to move from the rig I had made to a normal desk setup so i can have my pc and ps5 together(can't afford another wheel yet with a young baby🙈). Anyway the floor mounted pedals were my biggest issue, I just cannot brake properly and that was killing me time wise. Got up this morning and decided to go into the shed and come up with something a bit better. Didn't get to try it out yet as today is proper drinking day here in Ireland so I'm out now 🤣🤣🤣 Anyway, I'm looking forward to spending tomorrow at Laguna and seeing how it goes. Feels much better even before I start. It's a bit rough but my welder is playing up. If it works I will do it again and TIG weld it instead

On a less selfish note, the racing in B/S lobbies at DTS last week and Barca this week has been pretty clean. Very few dirty drivers. And not even that many making mistakes and causing crashes.

Have the rest of you had the same experience?

Thanks! I did hit A on GTS but only after GT7 started and the lobbies were weaker. This feels like a bigger achievement (tho’ no doubt short lived!).

I did a race or two at Laguna, which is a track I’m decent at, and just kept understeering everywhere! Luckily, Barca’s been treating me well!

Like MetalApe said, let's start the new year off and add another set of daily races, D. For endurance races only that last an hour at a time. It would bring more fun and challenge to the event.

@cyirush The furthest I got was a B in GTsport and that was on the last month before the servers shut down, so I didn't get to enjoy the fame that long. Barcelona treated me bad at times because I wasn't paying attention to the turns/corners, xD.

I don't know how they get the times out of the BRZ - it feels ok to me to drive but I'm just slower in it.

I cant drive that car and its a shame because that engine sounds like heaven.
The trick seems to double upshift.
Sometimes from 1st to 3rd and sometimes from 2nd to 4th gear.

However, the most I try the slower Iam on that car

After waiting since GT5P to win an online race yesterday I managed to win three more in a row in the A race. Then I got punted in the next race while being in a good position.

OK, so...warming-up to Barcelona a bit. Actually, I think it's warming up to the Lambo that's made time for me out there. Not sure why I avoided the car but I actually had to go buy one last week as it was missing from the stable. Now I know why everyone wants it nerfed, lol.

After spending the last two weeks in P8-10 starting spots, I decided to spend some time running laps. Lots-O-Laps. Got a tenth or so to go to be at the top of my list again but am down to 1:47.376 (was 1:48.332)...thanks for the motivation @Childe Roland 😁 That put me front row for my next foray into the madhouse and yielded many, many more smiles p/mile. Ran a couple and finished P2 and P4...

I can see my time on Laguna isn’t much and doesn’t look like I’m improving on it so I’ll be fighting around 10th

Although I started 9th earlier and finished 4th - managed to stay out of trouble but there was a lot of crazy drivers out there 🤣

Edit: managed to get my QT down to 1.22.9xx so I think I might just keep going 😂

At first I didnt put much expectations on this daily C but as the week goes on Im starting to like it.
Theres two viable strategies and both works fine for me.

Starting from P8 or behind my strat is to pit on lap 1, no tyre change and push like theres no tomorrow with clean air ahead.
On this strat. I can do 8 decent laps and I begin to suffer on lap 9 (+ .400), lap 10 (+ . 800) and last lap is a total crawl (+1.6).
However, I always progress on the field (I made one podium with this strat.) because of the fights ahead.

If I start ahead of P8 I prefer to pit between lap 4 or 7 (depending on traffic), change tyres and chase the ones who didnt changed.

I can see a weekend of total carnage on this combo.
Close racing with lot of spots for divebombing is a perfect recipe for that

That’s a good time at Barca!

Yes, that’s right, we were the last of the GT Sport racers. It was fun having two sets of races to choose from each week!

I have to say this bit from a Traxion article grates a little.

I've been a 20+ year controller user and 3 year wheel user (for GT, used wheels for PC games)

But the whole feeling completely numb is literally something they have done to the feel!! Grrrr
