You don't want to be tied with Techno....he never lets it go ;)

Happy Christmas and merry new year all.

Happy racing racers 🤣👋
The wife will 100% agree with you on that for a few things! 😂

Merry everything to everyone! 😊

You actually do know me well @newmedia_dev 😂 I really wasn't able to just let it go... 😉🤪

Who knew that improving your qualifying time in the A Sport race by 0.048 would leave you in field after field of punters.
IMO nothing to do with qualifying times. When you get close to the top (or bottom) of a ranking level, you get desperate people. I think. Qualy time has no impact? Unless I'm wrong. Which I often am.

Not sure about everyone else but I’m done with Laguna already 🤣

Edit: no sooner do I write this and the victory gods align for me, I’ve had a some wonderful 2nd place finishes and wondered if a win would present itself, then a lobby of folk doing what i have been doing, making a mistake a some point 🤣😁

It’s a fun track if you are in front, if you have to work your way up, it sucks. 5 laps isn’t really long enough for attrition to affect things.
Absolutely but I’m only doing race b’s so yep having to wait for people’s mistakes or getting those decent lap times in and mostly it’s the former 🤣

I give up.

We need BOP tables for each track, srsly
The Huracan seems to dominate everywhere at the moment so the BoP should be a simpler fix than making a specific BoP for every circuit. As things are now (with the same cars dominating for half of year and no attempt to reign them in) it's obvious that PD don't care about Gr4 so I as a player won't care either, there is no incentive to race those races and it's a shame they come up so often, Gr4 should be as rare in the dailies as other one-make events like the MX-5 touring car.

Wholeheartedly agree with your point and all the groups cars should be competitive but gr4 is my favourite so don’t go giving them ideas to ditch it 🤣

Loving your YT vids 👊

To be fair you could say the same for GR2 and GR1 as their bop is all over the place.

Even GR3 isn't perfect (better but far from perfect)

The solution for want of a better one is that PD just balance a few of the cars in each group that is running each week and limit them to single/dual/triple make/car races.

This would tighten the cars up performance and competitive wise bring them on par without the massive spread of BoP in large groups.

The downside is that you lose variety and choice but you gain better ability to balance them.

🤷‍♂️

I've never been a big fan of Gr4 to be honest, I've always felt like they have too much grip for the power they have and suspect they would race a bit better if they were on a less grippy tyre, sports soft would suit them a bit better in my opinion (without testing it). However the cars need to be better balanced as they are for the people who do race them, it seems PD gave up on the class a few years ago when they dropped them from the eSports for the top division (aka the only one they're interested with).

The class should be broken up, it would be a lot easier to BoP if they were matching FWD cars against each other, etc (not just on raw pace but over a race with tyre wear) and would give more variety instead of using the same cars all the time.

Gr2 and Gr1 are all over the place with different types of cars, I don't think they should ever be used as categories for sport mode but ran with the specific cars allowed only, so in Gr1 they could set it to GrC only on certain weeks or 2008 GT500 cars on Gr2 weeks. The BoP in Gr3 isn't perfect but it's close enough for most cars to be competitive in the races (even when the leaderboard is showing the usual suspects dominating), the oddballs like the Skyline Silhouette don't belong in there.

I can't see PD doing BoP for certain cars each week (I'm not sure it's an option since the BoP changes so far always need a game updated) but if the classes were smaller it would kind of force their hand.

Literally got another win on the back of racer’s clumsiness 🤣 really don’t think I EVER won at Laguna in gr3 before, only at B/B so not like I’m hitting A or anything but you can only beat what’s on the grid, this one pole sitter bizarrely braked early first turn letting me by 🤷‍♂️

Yeah maybe that’s a great idea to see a split in the group between 4WD/FWd etc but gr4 suits me because I’m not that great and the accessibility thing I’m sure

I’d love to see vw polo cup, Clio cup, red bull junior races, loads of options out there.

Personally I wouldn’t enjoy gt so much without the gr3/4 mainly due to my skill level - again there’s loads of options for all skill levels

😁👍

That's it for me this week in terms of setting a time at Laguna Seca! 😅 I've enjoyed progressing into the 1:21:6's but trying harder would take the fun out of it! Happy that at least my optimal would be a 21:5 so leaving it as it is :)

Loving the use of 3rd into the corkscrew, going to try that

Awesome time bro 👊

Did some starting from the back in Race C today in different cars. Didn't really go well:

Huracan 7th 20:51
Scirroco 14th 21:02
Swift 11th 21:03
Viper 13th 20:57
Huracan 6th-10th 20:59

Qualified for the final race, if I hadn't messed up my lap I could have started 3rd, ended up making a mess of the first lap and ending up nowhere. The first lap in the Scirroco was equally shambolic, that race time is about 10 seconds higher than it should have been.

The Dodge had the worst understeer and front tyre wear of the four. Oddly, the most satisfying of these races was in the Suzuki. It was nice being in something so slow you could just park it on an apex and hold up everything within three miles of you.

Wonder if it annoyed anyone.

And this really annoys me as esports as a competition is great for the top 0.001

But I expect the top guys to drive quick in whatever car.

I like the lower car classes/single make (dedicated not this fake stuff where there is a clear meta, just call it the Lambo trophy etc)

The problem is probably not Gr4 it's the reluctance to make Gr4 single make races like at launch. This solves all the issues.

I'm not going to comment on tires as that is pointless when we all use the same ones. Tires get a lot of stick but if we are all running the same ones it doesn't matter.

Glad I didn't give-up on this week, been a blast. Learned a couple things, though. First off, me + tire conservation = nope. Second, and in compounding form, I can't drive for 💩 on worn tires. This means my QT has me in the front two rows but my race pace has me midfield, lol. Has been working out to P2-5 finishes, and all of them EARNED, lol. Door-to-door stuff is amazing.

Been some great racing out there and I've limited my bonehead moves. Well, mostly, anyway. Did bomb one driver twice in the same spot in TWO separate races. That's kinda humbling. Kept missing my brake mark into T5 from the inside because I just never drive there. Apologized afterwards and luckily didn't cost them anything more than a tenth and a chuckle.😇

Have fun and don't let the Christmas 'spirits' land you in a barrier!😁

Reading this and causes me to wonder what you consider are worn tyres? All red, ¾ red, what?
Once they get towards the half-way mark I really start to struggle with maintaining pace, which makes me try harder, which destroys tires faster, etc. It's the cycle. By lap 5 I am past the halfway point on the FL. T3 and 9 on laps 4/5/6 and 9/10/11 have been penalty havens for me.
