It’s a momentous day guys, my friends leaderboard

I dare you

I’m stuck on A this week, more wins, more great racing and up to BS

Have a great weekend racing ( amongst other things)
I only tried 2 races earlier, no time to slog out a QT time (i will have a go at your time tomorrow 😉, after tonight i am of until Tuesday/Wednesday night)I swear every US fast and furious fan boy was out, it was chronic 🙈🙈 I was starting from the back and it was like shooting ducks in a barrel until I got near the front....I just got blatantly rammed off the track 🤣🤣 I just gave up both races. I had to laugh though because it's a race that's tailor made for boy racers. Fun car to drive though, the torque steer is hilarious but very predictable and smooth. I seem to remember the last time I used that civic it was a pig to drive, it is actually quite pleasant now 👌 will go again later on and give it a proper try 👍

Yeah from what I see in the races mid pack isn’t much fun, mostly this week I’ve was winning virtually all the races I did and last night was the first night there was great racing between the front 4, I managed a win in my last race out of 5.

Watch tidgneys lap guide, the key is to try and avoid 3rd because you go sideways 🤣 but it pulls like hell in 4th so a lot of short shifting going on.

@Sum1s2pid amazing time bro, I should have kept that one to myself until Sunday night 🤣 something to work towards!

Lol I just had an Interlagos race where the rolling start didn't let me control the car until mid 1st corner (I was 7th btw). Guess it was the same for everybody. Also 1st place was ghosted at the beginning.
Maybe it had something to do with his connection?

It's a good thing to avoid getting pushed out of the track from the get-go.

Was enjoying race C this week until the update. Had a competitive QT in the lambo for my middling B lobbies (32.5ish), won a race and had several good clean battles. Different story now with the 155 buff. I thought I’d give it a go but can’t get much closer than a second off my Huracan time. Is there some secret that I’m missing to get speed out of it? Thought short-shifting was needed looking at the curves but that didn’t seem to help!
Not looking forward to group 4 races if it’s going to be dominant from here on.

Hi, I'm afraid to say that I daily racing days are over, there was a crisis situation yesterday that shocked me in a bad way. My mom had serious side effects from the chemotherapy that she had a month ago. I made a post at almost 7am in the gt7 TT thread if you want to read it there for more information. She fainted and fell and busted her head on the kitchen floor, so I rushed to call paramedics and I sold my ps5. I got $300 for it so she could have enough to eat and to pay for a taxi back home which we'll have to ride. We will have to rely on the hospital food.

But I will always remember the fun I had doing lobby races and the main races for Sport mode. It's been a journey and I was only able to do 1,423 races in sport mode, but family is more valuable than racing with people online. Well I had to make the sacrifice to save my mother's life. I want to thank all of you for supporting me along this journey during the daily races. I will get another ps5 for gt8, but I need to focus on helping my mom and our stuff. So farewell.

Send prayers for me and my mom. Thank you.

There's a lot of time in the Alfa. It just need to be "forced" a lil more in corners compared to the Lambo. It brakes fenomenally, so put a lil forward your markers for braking point, just a little without exaggerating. I use 5 as BB and I find it fine like it was for the Lambo. I used the Lambo for 4 months and the Alfa for only three days, so I know I can just improve on the latter. It will take some time, but I can assure you that it's a very fun car to drive.

I just had this in race A, went round the whole track and started at the last turn before the start/finish 🤣 luckily I knew to change the view as it was stuck in the follow video view

Weird

@Chris30 Keep strong my friend, you do what you have to do for your family. See you around.

I went for couple of push lap in the Civic and did pretty well.

Of the three races this morning, the first got a poleman of 1.55, I'm in 2nd tried my best to follow but that was too fast for me. The second, I'm on pole and could build a gap and go for the win. The last one was the fun one. Polesitter in 1.55 tell he will fall back in pre-race chat. Told him "see you soon". So I pushed like hell through the race and ketp an eye on his progress. By lap 4 he was second 1.5 behind. In the last 3 corners he couldn't find a space to go through it was a drag race to finish. I kept first by 0.065 sec.

@Chris30

Focus on your Mom and you for now, things will be hard to take in but listen to the doctors as much as you can.

Please reach out to some support groups near you and also speak to the nurses and explain your situation, they can put you in touch with people that can help and support you.

The forum and people on here are all here to chat and support you but you need to prioritise your mom and getting some outside help, there are practical day to day things that you need to make sure you are on top of for you and your mom.

But right now in the moment focus on the basics, your mom and how comfortable you can both be.

As nice as it is to drive, the problem now, of course, is that the races are now 100% Alfa, and in some hands it is still a bit of a hooligan's car!

At least at the beginning of the week there were 3 viable options for race C - the Huracan, the 155, and the G70 (even though the Huracan dominated the QTs).

Seems a strange move to have boosted the Alfa by so much?

I genuinely think they have moved the game back closer to post launch.

And I'll need to check but I feel the 155 felt the same as back then.

My livery for it is 2 years old.....so I'm guessing the changes have actually gone back closer to launch than where we were.

I'm surprised the Mazda 3 isn't more competitive again tbh

Just reacclimated to the 155 and shaved a bit off my QT...pretty sure it comes down to the 'solid-rocket-booster-like' acceleration in first through third. Thing is a blast to drive and way more lively outta corners than the Huracan.

I guess I'm kinda reacclimating to erryting at this point. Ran five or six laps total early last week and that was it. Come back to braking into the apex behaving a bit differently, lol. Still havin' fun, though, and overall the cars feel a bit more buttery. Haven't driven much outside of a handful of Gr.4's so not the best judge at the moment...or any moment, really.🤣

@Chris30 I wish your Mom a speedy recovery, friend. Very sorry to hear but take pride in putting someone ahead of yourself. Seems a rare quality nowadays.👍

Good luck in all you do, folks!

Loved the Mazda 3 when it first came out! Shame they can’t just make all the cars in a group comparable in performance so the only variable would be driving style

I actually liked it as well, it was the best handling FF and once you dialled in how to driver it through the torque it was nice, proper cup spec feel to it. You could cock a rear wheel, but the nerf seemed overly harsh.

I find the fact they are restricting races now a very good sign that they know that while the physics engine is ok they aren't happy with the balance of the cars. It presents better creating curated or single male races than putting pointless choices in, especially in the more consistent levels.

I do like the variety a well balanced BoP brings, though. I'd love it to be some perform better in some places than others. Then it's a matter of particular cars shining on certain tracks for performance/layout/etc. -vs- poorly balanced BoP fall-out.

It's these problem children that mess-up the bell-curve, lol. I wouldn't be surprised to see an 'oops' patch to fix it, but I thought that about the Mazda for a very long time. Are there any real-world Alfa/GT7 partnerships on the horizon?? 🤣
