Okay, I'm getting real sick of waiting 10 minutes between races. Until recently, races were a bit longer so I'd leave the lobby at about 5 minutes before another race starts. Finished A and want to do B or C? Whoops, you left the lobby at 7:12, guess you gotta wait until half past. Finished B in a 7:30 timeslot and wanna do C? Well, the timer says 18 minutes, ain't that the darndest thing? 10/10/20+ minutes was perfectly fine and we were doing 5-lap gt3spalol race B's no problem. Just who benefits from this? Qualifying guys? I can qualify without entering a race! Does anyone here suffer from burnout and really need that extra 3 minutes to recuperate from getting brake-checked into the hairpin?

Nah, I tried that, it was still at 478BHP. There's permanent engine degredation after you drive 10000km and I lost about 0.1 horsepower, so I sold the Audi (rip) and got a new one.
This is what ultimately turned me off of sports mode. I eventually just got sick of waiting around longer for the next race than the actual races were...

I like the specific car thing on C again. PD has done this multiple times in recent memory (TT at Spa, GrC cars only at LeMans, Gr2 concept cars only at Sardegna, and now GT500 cars only at Fuji). It's almost like they've recognized their grouping system (specifically Gr1 and Gr2) is stupid.
Its such a no-brainer and would solve a lot of the issue with BOP imbalances yet PD continue to criminally underutilize it. It would also create a lot more variety on an already extremely stale sports mode. There are so many great possible options in every category!

  • Gr.1 eras (Group C / LMP1 / pre/post 2000 / VGT)
  • Gr.2 (Super GT / GT1)
  • Gr.3 (FR / MR / JGTC / specific year range like older GT3s - 2010-2013)
  • Gr.4 Drivetrain specific (FF / 4WD / FR / MR)

To wrap up last week Race A. I'm glad to say I finally found some consistency and it's by far my best performance in Daily Races since I got GT7 last June.
Quali of 1.20.6 was good for many pole.
I put more than 3 000 km on the car and I won 20 races.

Appear to be no barrier penalties for Race A -

I thought there were no contact penalties either,
Yep, that what I think too. SR completely turned off? I got cross check in the wall and no pens for me or the cross checker.

I like how the car is barely able to take some of the corner flat out. I will probably spend lots of time there. Maybe try some Race C along the week.

Hello.

Dailies A, B and C: They were alright this week. Standing starts are always welcome.

However, I have to insist on;

1- I think it is enough of pit stops for, nothing. We need pit stops where we can use some strategy.
Having at least two kind of tires help, with mandatory or without mandatory stop, it depends on which track, laps and cars.

2- It is at least ridiculous giving a top 5 finish, to players that just quit a race.
It is being worst every week now.
Many players just quit at the last lap when they don't achieve, or lose, a top 5 finish.
Please PD, penalize quitters, don't give them a prize.

Once more, I want to say that it's not my intention to start any discussion, just express my opinion about the Dailies.

Have fun,
Cheers

To be honest bud this is not something I've seen, yeah a few people quit through a race but it's either - really long races, they don't have weather tires or they are too far back. But we are talking a few people at most and certainly not when they are in the top 10.

PD do punish quitting in all of the races with a large SR hit, which can translate into DR drops if they are prolific quitters/lots of penalties and contact.

What DR/SR are your races?

Don't feel bad about showing your expressions and feelings, anybody should have the right too. I still don't know why people quit if they think the race is too harsh or chaotic. They shouldn't even enter at all if they think they're gonna give up after a lap or two. Well, there's really nothing nobody can do about the quality and efficiency of the daily races. PD is in control of the whole game, so...

Just keep enjoying the races and be yourself, don't let people belittle or make you feel worthless, you're a strong racer IMO. Good luck to you mate!!

Sincerely,
Chris

I think Race C if I race at all is where I'm going to be this week.

I just can't justify the effort vs race at Spa.

1. Rolling start with a 3rd of the grid stuck in no man's land at the start on or before a chicane, what is the bloody point of that. PD do better.

2. Lap one is classified as an outlap, lap two everyone goes purple, lap 3 is the finishing lap

3. The race duration directly affects racing behaviour, decision making. Don't insist on sportsmanship when you create races that incentivise early, risky moves especially when half the field is already starting seconds behind the front pack.

Anyone who leaves the race whether by disconnect or by quitting is given last place with the maximum penalty to DR.

Race C is hilarious when people try to take the slipstream but are not pitting, disclaimer I was behind all of this but the guy in the red car who wasn't pitting caused a massive pit lane pile up. 😂

The car reversing into the pits got reset on the main straight and had to do another lap. 😂

The other two were doing 10 point turns, inches from pit entry line. 😂

Wow, 1,100 is a really good increase!! Well done mate, so what was your secret plan/strategy used?
I got lucky

For those who may be wondering about the viability of a no tire strategy at Fuji, I would say don't do it.
I just gave it try, to see how it would work out. While it wasn't completely horrible, I got slaughtered on the last couple of laps.
Overall, it was a big net loss.
At least, now we know.

When we had the similar nations? Race I went for the early stop on 3 to get out of the fights and it worked, the next one I went 2 and it did work but was dicey as hell in the last few laps.

If you use the stops as a tactic to make positions it can work, the hard one is being in a good positional fight and resisting following them/leading them in I find. If the the field is really tight I always prefer to get out of it as early as possible, if it spreads just try to find a sensible gap I might be able to slot in to but it's a lottery regardless for me.

I'm gonna be bold and go for Race C. I say bold as Fuji with a D-pad is an absolute NIGHTMARE, undriveable, there's only two corners that you can square up. Now, with a wheel, it may as well be a different race track. The last sector is still too fiddly though, could cut out the mickey mouse chicane at the end.

ANyways, ran 10 laps over lunch and managed a 32.6, optimal 32 flat and tbh that's about where I see myself topping out and would have me bang on 3% off the fastest time in the world which is about my pace generally. I am struggling early in the lap, there's that quick left hander then the looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong turn right and it is here i struggle. That next left, you sort of need to park it, make the apex and power out but I always feel like I am too slow at the apex or running off tot he right. It's a key corner, worth near a second by the time you get to the hairpin.

Oh other motivation is I am DRC and SRB right now so need to do severe repair to SR and DRB/C should see me start gingerly at a track that is effectively new to me.

I've not raced it yet, but you'd think with having several grid-start races the last few weeks, that Spa would be the ideal place to try it. If I can get a good qually time I may try B, but otherwise will do C once I'm off shift - roll on Wednesday!

I haven't tried it either but have been doing 10-15 lap practice stints to see how wide the dry line gets, it will be wider in race conditions and I could hit 2:16s just will be the first 10 laps that are the trickiest and then I think the track starts to come back in for the brave

That's why I haven't returned to Fuji since January 2024, that LFA one-make race. The first right sharp turn is bad for someone that has a group of cars right on their tail. It can lead to disaster and you can lose a lot of places especially if you're in 1st or 2nd place. Just keep hanging in there my friend, don't give up hope. For the record I only did 6 races the week of that LFA one-make. I started near the middle everytime.

Fuji has been unlocked! I normally hate this track with a passion but these GT500s bring it to life! I had couple of insanely tight and very, very clean races there this afternoon.

Constantly getting trolled by purple sectors 1 and 2 throughout the races just as a reminder of how awful I am through the final corners.

Yes PD, it was entirely my fault!

It shouldnt be that hard to code something like " if a car is coming from no mans land crossing the track without control, that should be the car to penalize"

Switched to the US account earlier and to be fair the racing was very clean, it made up for the disaster of the morning runs. I actually had 3 wins and only 1 run in 🤣🤣. The guy in question pitted on lap 5 but didn't take tyres 🙈 I caught him on lap 9 and he tried everything to keep me behind. I got a good run out of the final bend and pulled alongside him but he just ran me into the pit wall. Luckily I got away lightly and got past him on the next lap. He tumbled down to 4th by the finish and then sent a message calling me 'Trash' 🙈. Anyway, I won the next 2 races after some good battles, I have found the lexus is pretty good on its tyres so pitting on lap 7 seems to work for me. Hopefully I will get my QT down a bit tomorrow, currently at 32.1 , would like to knock another half a second off that if I can

Interestingly, I was watching Sparks live stream earlier and he too had someone slam on the brakes going into pit lane...guess I am not the only one so 🤣🤣 why are people doing it? You do not need to at Fuji !!!!

It definitely doesn't, see my last post 🤣 I had 8 seconds to make up on p1 no tyre guy and I made up 2 seconds per lap on him. It most definitely does not work. Maybe the aliens can do it but all the streams I have watched today all took tyres

Didn't get a chance to jump on until lat tonight so no racing, took all 3 cars for a spin. They are all very different with the nsx looking and sounding thr best and the Lexus setting the times by a hair but the gtr actually felt the best.

Quite quickly found a half second from earlier today to be at a 32.1, I do have a high 30 in me I think. Decided to buy the Lexus and livery it up even though it is pig ugly. Gotta say, it's a joy not to be scared of this track anymore.
