I had the unfortunate chance of racing against the dirtiest racer of Americas regions in Race A. Had time for three races before work but he was only in the first one. Racing from the back was out the window pretty soon. Now if only people could avoid hitting the wall and bounce back right in front of me, that be great. My fast lap are around 1.40.high, let's see how this evolve throughout the week.

So I’m making sure I’m getting in some practice this week, managed a couple of races of A and a QT of 1.42.3xx so far, it’s a nice car and track and if you flick it in to the first corner properly there’s another second for me which I was up with but the race starts 🤨🤨 as @bone_tone says A+ drivers with QT of 1.39s don’t seem beatable 🤣

Managed to get into the 2.17s at Spa, but only just, I think there’s maybe 2 tenths left for me, not more, driving the Porsche is very nice around Spa, it’s a real shame it’s not 4 or 5 laps minimum as the first lap needs a move making to win on and as we all know, that’s risky business 😁 but just one race so far, started 3rd, finished 2nd.

@TechnoIsLove 2.17.0xx 😳

Fuji, defo meh for me 😁

I'm done doing laps of spa, literally do 7 lap QT sessions for a race that is less than half that.

Then the race intermissions are 9+ mins long again I can run a full race distance in QT 🤷‍♂️

Odd odd choice.

@TechnoIsLove your Trophy this week mate, good luck and god speed friend 👊🏆
Doesn’t make a lot of sense does it, PD maybe throwing it out there to see if there’s an interest and I’d say there would be with like mini/clio cup races at a real short circuit like brands Indy or Suzuka short where there were much more choice of different hoppers and potentially where you could have a race whilst waiting for your next race 🤔

I agree, as you know I'm very very much constantly wishing for more support type races, clio cup, lupo/polo cup, even GR86, or Cayman Cup etc one make races with possibly an SR multiplier (down) on. I think the game needs more accessible cars for people wanting to move in to sport mode but in something more controlled, closer and less full on than GR3+ daily A just isn't a good feeder race and B/C can feel miles away from fun for even experienced players.

GR3/2/1 just doesn't teach people race craft when the control and fidelity is so much more in those cars.

I will bang on about it but the structure to sports mode needs an overall with rather than ABC races there is class based racing, whatever those classes are doesn't matter as long as they feed upward to more rewarding (control, racing, faster cars) to give people natural entry points.

Having your first race is some random A daily with a road car on weird tires in a weird track combo and then having the next step a Gr3 car on one of the most competitive tracks, and your final option is a 20 min race in arguably the best handling but still scary race cars...

Just not logic to the way they think about sport mode, it is in an of itself a career mode just most won't perserve through it.
Obviously much more restraint than I...no way I would've throttled my intake to pull off that save, lol! Bonus points for the big smoky burnout to let everyone know...

Yeah 100% agree

That model you are talking is very similar to iracing, having to work up the classes etc until you get to F1 racing - it also has (I believe haven’t been on in ages) Kia races, golf Jetta, Porsche cup, F4

But would love to have that all wrapped up in Gran turismo 😁

You wouldn't have to tie it to levels like iRacing does, in GT it could be free choice but I'd imagine newer players would gravitate one way and aliens/streamers the other way.

But DR has to be on, or it's just really posh Mario kart.

The worrying thing is that they can't even fill 16 place grids in A and we know that those lobbies will span D to A+ so even then it's not really racing or an incentive to anyone, wins are hollow, wins are almost impossible and if you do you don't get the DR for it.

And honestly and no no no offence to anyone, members or lurkers but can you imagine the differential between D and A/+ drivers at spa or in GR2 at Fuji this week.....

Sports mode needs an overhaul badly, as I don't even think it's breeding the best of the crop anymore.

Took a stab at a race at Fuji and running a comfortable P3, slowly chasing down P2 who was looking ragged and I tried to look back but it wasn't working. Noticed my wheel was in compatibility mode (what imbecile at Fanatec made the light for compatibility mode a SLIGHTLY different shade of blue from full PS5 mode??) and tried to change it to the correct setting only for it to take 30 seconds.

Still, was good to get the experience under my belt and got my qualy time down to a 31.9, there's a 31.7 in me but that's about it I reakon.
