It's ridiculous, combined with the track limits at RBR and it's bedlam. I tried desperately to be clean last night, almost too hard, as soon as you take an inside line or leave room on the inside, you get mugged or a penalty. I had one good race from 4, the rest were utter chaos getting punted left and right.
A question, anyone else have issues at turn 3 at RBR and rotating the car? I swear if I take the inside line for a pass I all but come to a total stop if I try and make the apex. There's something very odd, not sure if it is a wheel vs pad thing or as I suspect the new physics, but you can't turn and brake at all, like the car just will not turn. You have to come off the brake, roll and turn but it makes going up the inside CLEANLY very difficult as you scrub so much speed with the loss of angle. I feel like I am going through turn 3 faster than previously if I can take the racing line, the car is more receptive to being "thrown" through the corner, but up the inside, the angle isn't there and it's making passing near impossible and i suspect is leading to a lot of guys over-shooting the apex.
I am not the only one noticing this as I have seen guys intentionally take the outside line and leave me the inside as they know it is suicide up the inside pace wise.

Oh man, yesterday in Race B, I came up on the penalty zone and a HERD of cars when transparent. I didn't know where to go to avoid them. at the font of the group was someone who must have been given a significant penalty because they were still transparent before the downhill righthander. The track was FULL of people, so I had to dive to the inside.
I SHOULD have driven straight through because he became solid at the worst time. I clipped him and got my own 2 second penalty for "forcing another car off track"
Also, in Race B, it's like peeps have never seen racing before, and DEFINITELY never at the RBR. I can't tell you how many times I hug the inside of turn three, I don't go wide, I don't dive bomb anyone, but people simply don't check their mirrors, and don't check the radar. They turn in and then complain.
Like WOW, you have 90% of the track already. You need my 10% too?
IMHO the penalty system should be EXACTLY the same in single player as in Sport Mode. That might help.

RBR (or A1 ring for the ones that combs grey hair like I do) is like a magnet for dirty drivers since always.Ive kinda given up on racing online this week too, only really enjoying race A, but…. The right hander at the bottom of the hill is dive bomb avenue, we could all brake late into that if we wanted to. The fact you need to be wide to take it and keep your momentum up, others just seem to think you have left the inside door wide open for them when in reality, you are thinking the opposite.
don’t get me wrong, there are decent and respectable racers out there who understand what’s going on, but those are few and far between, most just see it as an opportunity to brake late and then sit in front of you to remove any uphill speed you had.
I’m not angry about it, just is what it is, ill grind gold licences for the rest of the week and pray for a better week next week

I think a lot of the sends are people out braking themselves or at least a good amount are. What I don't particularly like is the lack of exit space. It's fine to send it cleanly and make the apex but you can't take the racing line exit you should continue the tighter line (give bloody space)
But what I see happening is it looks/is a dice bomb, people get run wide, red mist and you end up where we are right now which is the race has fallen to where it is now.
Eye for an eye and everyone will be blind.

I had this race A early, I was trying to break the tow off the line, this was seen was weaving by P2, he punted me off turn 3, not very well because I remained just behind him, he brake checked me, I drive around it, he tries to ram me off on the tight right, and misses, I win, but at this stage I turn off the messages and I cannot be bothered again with the grief.
Had a race A where I got a penalty on the second last lap and just had to let the guy go on and win and then a mistake last lap yielded again ☹️ bad day
From there race B had been a nightmare and do has A so I’m having a break this weekend.
Probably to do with kids being off but I think us adults need to race against adults, I am sick to death of this stuff.

Circles back to what I was saying, corners 1, 3 and the last corner carry a lot of momentum, if you go inside there's no way to pass without Verstappening wide to the left and pushing outside man off. Corner 4 is the best one, multi-line corner that one.

I don't mind some contact if I'm side by side with someone in a corner. As long as they attempt to leave some space I won't care if we hit. Whatever, it's going to happen. I just hate when they stick a nose on your rear quarter panel and nudge you aside and make the pass. It seems to happen a ton in any hairpin corner. And heaven forbid you try and get that spot back.
I've also seen a bunch of questionable dives and lunges over the past few weeks and I don't see it improving. I get that a race is only a few laps long, but people need to learn some patience out there. But everyone needs to be a turn 1 lap 1 hero.
Now, I'm not saying I'm innocent in this as I've made some questionable passes and lunges that have resulted in me taking people out. I'll wait for them to get going again. I'll take the track position hit and keep it friendly.
I wonder if an iRacing type system where you have an amount incident points during a race would help that out. Reach that amount of points and instant DQ. But, I can see that getting abused by some drivers which defeats the purpose of that.

I do think the AI and chase the rabbit format actually breeds a lot of this behaviour. It almost teaches your to steal, cheat, barge to the front.
Now admittedly in higher B and beyond DR and pace levels that really isn't an excuse. For those levels I think there is too much emphasis on DR that it motivates people to make silly judgements.
Racing will always be hyper competitive and we all over estimate our ability couple that with zero cost in the real world and zero danger or mortality risk and then consider this is a pick up and play game I really don't know what the answer would be.

I reckon my issue is I have played too much this week, usual weeks when I’m working I manage a race a day, if I’m lucky 2, so this is the answer, enjoy the time you get.

Agreed. Some knuckleheads don't know what a late apex is and think they can just dive their nose into the turn not knowing the car in front is taking a wide entry on purpose. One of the Kyoto layouts (I can't keep them all straight) has a lot of turns with late apexes and it's a real problem.

Yeah you gotta start way out to the right and swing across the apex and some dingleberry thinks the door is open from 8/10ths back. Mother of all finishes in this race BTW, great fair racing.

Havent played much in the last few weeks due to moving house and other stuff. Naturally rusty but managed to get a QT down that puts me in the top 6ish for Race C.
Done a few races this week and to echo everyone else's complaints the driving standards are as abhorrent. The majority of incidents aren't mistakes or niavety, its outright toxic behaviour intent on causing as much chaos as possible. Added to that, its impossible to react to avoid incidents in the tight fast sections of deep forest that even the drivers who attempt to drive clean can be slapped with a 4 second penalty for no fault of their own.
I would like to think i could have a go at the upcoming GTWS, but i cant do 75% of the races due to being an adult. Not sure where I am with this game at the moment. Hopefully next week will be better etc etc...

So guys, even better then expected, despite the "terrible" outcome ( 10th due basically to my "fatigue" while I was easely leading the pack). That's, how Hamilton says, invigorating. It really looks like a good fun coming on.Not to be too bold, but I think I may win my first DR A race this weekend.

Fair one, I guess then also it boiled the guys p**s too, not sure I did it too many times but it was more than once.
I’m not the kind of racer to make moves under braking or cut people off when they are passing inside a corner etc.
Just thought braking the tow was pretty harmless from a distance

So circling back to RBR with a wheel vs d-pad. It's been interesting, turn 3 is definitely tougher, I struggle to get enough lock quickly enough to navigate the turn, especially if I am forced inside. The other corner I am struggling with a tad is the second last one, i could sort of throw the car in more but it's tougher to master on a wheel. On the flip side, the last left hander is a revelation, it gave me fits on a dpad but with a wheel I am able to run with the pack through there due to the better turn in and small mid corner adjustments a wheel enables that dpad doesn't, with dpad you either entered the corner right or you didn't, there's no compromise.

Don't mistake this for disagreement with your sentiment - it's poor etiquette to weave down the straights, and really you're only supposed to change lines once with the second move being a return to the racing line ahead of the braking zone - but just an expression of reality. If GT's penalty system doesn't penalise you for it, it is allowed and, de facto, you're entitled to do it.
Personally, I only move once (usually to right up against the pit wall) before returning to the racing line for braking. It's not a requirement of me though.

I very very rarely move just to be predictable if I'm leading. I just don't think it's practical to try and defend every corner and slows you both down.
If I am behind I move as early as possible to signal my intent to want to take the inside (or racing line) again keeps things predictable and less prone to "misunderstandings or frustration"

Personally I don’t do what annoys me by others and weaving doesn’t actually bother me because I just follow if someone is doing that, but I take on board more than one move is not cool and annoys others potentially so I’m going to save myself the abuse in future 😁

Distance matters. Thebtow in the game is crazy strong so early on the straight and like 1 second away then weave away but pick a lane before the braking area and/or if things are under half a second.
